Hi Karen
I haven't finished the puzzles yet...trying to do a million things at once but there is an interesting twist to the puzzle on P50 - Bathroom Set.
You have.....THORNTAIL
I have.........TRIATHLON
The funny thing is there is a South American hummingbird called a THORNTAIL so it could be that too. I bet they didn't figure someone would find
that word!
They say not to include Proper Names and really THORNTAIL is not one. It's a type of bird NOT the name of a bird, like Bluey the Budgie.
I will email the mag and tell them there can be 2 answers.
Will check out the other puzzles and confirm things later.
GOOD LUCK
OCW
Thanks again OCW

Yeh i looked up Thorntail in the Wikepedia and found that it was also a Black Stingray:
The thorntail stingray, black stingray or longtail stingray, Dasyatis thetidis, belongs to the stingray family Dasyatidae and is found in estuaries
and lagoons and around reefs in the Indian Ocean, and around southern Australia, and New Zealand, at depths of up to 440 m. Its length is up to 400
cm.
But i didnt even think of the answer being TRIATHLON!!!!
TRIATHLON would probably be the more obvious answer!
Hi again Karen
I've now finished the Take 5, New Idea and Pocket Puzzler all at the same time - phew!
A couple of things with the Take 5.....You are right about the Thorntail being a stingray as well.
P30 - Breakfast duo.....I agree with No.2
If you go by the green cross at the top of the 1st box, it just moves two places around each time. It looked difficult at first but actually
wasn't.
P32 - Handy Lap Tray.....Answer is: HALT.....your "L" fell off!
....But HAT is right for P45.
Other than those, I agree with everything else.
GOOD LUCK
OCW
Many Thanks for the answers
thanks for the post and the answers
Hi Karen
I have had a speedy response from the Take 5 magazine in regard to the jumbled word puzzle. Here's what they said:
*****
Although the word THORNTAIL does not appear in The Macquarie Dictionary (our tome of reference), we accept that it is a viable alternative to the word
TRIATHLON and, as such, we will accept this as a valid solution to this puzzle.
Thank you for pointing this out to us.

So, sometimes we are smarter than them

Can somebody please tell me how to get "SOAP" from the fairy floss maker... I keep getting stumped.... I think my brain went into a coma weeks ago..
Hi wyvern_of_myst
Here's how you get SOAP
RED/SEA - SEA/LEVEL - LEVEL/BEST - BEST/MAN - MAN/HANDLE - HANDLE/BAR - BAR/BELL - BELL/BIRD - BIRD/SEED - SEED/BED - BED/CLOTHES - CLOTHES/HORSE -
HORSE/SENSE.
Sometimes these type of puzzles drive me crazy too. Hope that helps?
GOOD LUCK
