AN all-star cast headed by Garry McDonald will be appearing in the Sydney production of Guys and Dolls for a strictly limited 12-week season at the Capitol Theatre.

After a successful 20-week run in Melbourne, the record-breaking Olivier Award-winning West End musical with a cast of 30 and an orchestra of 14 will open March 12.

This sharp, sexy and contemporary version of Guys and Dolls is an enduring, musical theatre classic.Based on Damon Runyon’s famous short stories and set in 1940s New York, small-time gambler Nathan Detroit bets his big-time pal Sky Masterson that he can’t make the next woman he sees fall in love with him. When the next doll happens to be the neighbourhood missionary Sarah Brown, the stage is set for an unforgettable evening’s entertainment.

Featuring the hit musical classics Luck be a Lady; If I Were a Bell; I`ve Never Been in Love Before; Take Back Your Mink; Sit Down You’re Rocking the Boat, Guys and Dolls and the sensational Havana dance number.

This is an all-new production, the collaboration between The Donmar Warehouse and The Ambassador Theatre Group set records at The Piccadilly Theatre in Londons West End which starred Ewan McGregor and Ally McBeal’s Jane Krakowski.

Designed by Christopher Oram and choreographed by Rob Ashford, it is directed in Australia by rising British directing talent, Jamie Lloyd.
