The senseless death of a young shop girl, a scarred forest devoid of its oldest trees and a sincere atonement to a lost friend are just some of the moving inspirations for Tim Finn’s latest CD The Conversation.

Peacefulness resonates throughout his eighth solo venture and in some tracks Finn’s emotions are stripped bare.

The Conversation was recorded at his brother Neil’s studios and is what Finn calls his first acoustic album.

Tim Finn performs at The Zoo, 26 February.
