Building on material from his Crime Scene exhibition at Sydney's Police and Justice Museum and the Life After Wartime interactive media suite created with Kate Richards, Gibson has selected 175 investigative photographic images and related police files to create a most unusual novel. The dark side of post-World War II Sydney is vividly evoked. The photographs alone can be read many times over; many of them are curiously artful, most are disturbing, and all assume new meaning as Gibson's text laterally opens them out.
