Terms and Conditions
By entering The Daily Telegraph Events NSW Sydney Gay & Lesbian Mardi Gras Promotion, you are agreeing to the following terms and conditions:
1. STANDARD TERMS.
1.1 Information on how to enter forms part of the terms of entry.
2. WHO CAN ENTER.
2.1 Subject to clause 2.2, and 2.3 entry is open to all residents of New South Wales.
2.2 Directors, Management, Employees and their immediate families of Nationwide News, Events NSW and New Mardi Gras and their respective related
bodies’ corporate, associated agencies and companies are not eligible to enter.
3. HOW TO ENTER
3.1 The competition commences on Saturday 28 February 2009 at 00:01 (AEDT) and concludes on Monday 2 March 2009 at 23:59 (AEDT) (“the Competition
Period”).
3.2 To enter readers must locate the Events NSW Sydney Gay & Lesbian Mardi Gras promotional link on dailytelegraph.com.au and answer in 50 words
or less what the Sydney Gay & Lesbian Mardi Gras means to them. Entrants will be required to leave their name, address, phone number and all other
information requested. To win the monthly bonus prize, they must include the February bonus word listed on the Events NSW Planner. Readers who do not
have access to the Events NSW Planner may enter their name and address but will only be eligible to win the major prize. The monthly bonus prize will
only be awarded to readers who have entered the monthly codeword from the Events NSW Planner.
3.3 Entrants can only enter the competition once. Prizes are non-transferable.
4. PRIZES
4.1 There are 2 major prize packages and 2 bonus prize packages to be won. There will be 2 winners drawn, who will each receive:
Major Prize Package:
4 tickets to attend the 2009 Sydney Gay & Lesbian Mardi Gras VIP viewing area located at Taylor Square, Darlinghurst NSW 2010 on Saturday 7 March
2009. Access to the VIP viewing area is from 6pm.
Food and beverage package.
Opportunity to meet Foxtel celebrities during the course of the evening.
Bonus codeword Prize Package:
Additional 2 tickets per winner when the February bonus word from the 2009 Events NSW Planner is provided.
Total prize value $10,000.
4.2 Winners and their guests are required to pay for all transport and parking (if applicable accommodation) as part of the prizes.
4.3 In participating in the prize, the winners agree to participate and co-operate as required in all editorial activities relating to the
Competition, including but not limited to being interviewed and photographed. The winners agree to grant the Promoter a perpetual and exclusive
licence to use such footage and photographs in all media worldwide and the winner (and their companions) will not be entitled to any fee for such use.
4.4 The winners agree they will not sell or otherwise provide their story and/or photographs to any media or other organisation.
4.5 The prize cannot be transferred and cannot be redeemed for cash.
4.6 The winners must, on request by the Promoters, be able to provide evidence which, to the reasonable satisfaction of the Promoters, demonstrates
that the winner is an eligible entrant (as per clause 2.1and 2.2) has complied with these Terms and Conditions.
4.7 The prizes must be taken as stated and no compensation will be payable if a winner is unable to use the prize as stated. If a winner is unable to
satisfy these terms and conditions or a prize is not utilised able to be taken as the prize will be forfeited by the winner and cash will not be
awarded in lieu.
5 HOW TO WIN
5.1 Winners will be randomly drawn from all valid entries received. To win they must have entered their details correctly and answered in 50 words or
less what the Sydney Gay & Lesbian Mardi Gras means to them. To win the monthly bonus prize they must have entered the bonus word for February
2009 that appears on the 2009 Events NSW Planner. The draw will take place at News Limited, 2 Holt Street, Surry Hills NSW 2010 on Tuesday 3 March
2009 at 09:00 (AEDT). The winners will be notified by phone on Tuesday 3 March 2009.
5.2 The winners will be notified by phone and their names will be published in the Public Notices section of The Daily Telegraph on Friday 6 March.
5.3 The Promoters’ decision is final and the Promoter will not enter into correspondence regarding the result.
6. NO LIABILITY
6.1 In the case of the intervention of any outside act, agent or event which prevents or significantly hinders the Promoter’s ability to proceed with
the competition on the dates and in the manner described in these terms and conditions, including but not limited to vandalism, power failures,
tempests, natural disasters, acts of God, civil unrest, strike, war, act of terrorism, the Promoter may in its absolute discretion cancel the
competition and recommence it from the start on the same conditions, subject to any written directions given under the Lottery and Gaming Regulation
1993 (SA).
6.2 Nationwide News Pty Ltd and their associated agencies and companies will not be liable for any misadventure, accident, injury, loss (including but
not limited to consequential loss or damage, loss of opportunity revenue or profit) arising out of or in connection with this promotion, including
transportation to and from or during residency in the property or claim that may occur:
a) during the draw;
b) whilst undertaking any travel won on or connected with their entry into the draw;
c) in the participation in any prize;
d) as a consequence of late, lost or misdirected mail;
e) due to the broadcast of any program relating to the competition or the publication of any material, including any statements made by any compere,
staff member, journalist, other entrants or any other person;
g) arising from or related to any problem or technical malfunction of any telephone network or lines or mobile communications network related to or
resulting from participation in this promotion.
6.3 If for any reason this competition is not capable of running as planned, due to causes including but not limited to tampering, unauthorized
intervention, fraud, technical failures or any other causes beyond the control of the Promoter which corrupt or affect the administration security,
fairness, integrity or proper conduct of this competition, the Promoter reserves the right in its sole discretion to disqualify any individual who
tampers with the entry process, take any action that may be available, and to cancel, terminate, modify or suspend the competition.
