The Secret Life of Bees
Promotion, you are agreeing to
the following terms and
conditions:
1.STANDARD TERMS
1.1 Information on how to enter
forms part of the terms of entry.
2. WHO CAN ENTER?
2.1 Subject to clauses 2.2
and2.3 entry is open to all
residents of NSW and VIC.
2.2 Employees and their
immediate families of
Nationwide News Pty Ltd and
Herald Weekly Times Pty Ltd,
Dialect Interactive, Twentieth
Century Fox and their
associated agencies and
companies are not eligible to
enter. Immediate family means
any of the following: spouse, ex-
spouse, de-facto spouse, child
or step-child (whether by
natural or by adoption), parent,
step-parent, grandparent, step-
grandparent, uncle, aunt, niece,
nephew, brother, sister, step-
brother, step-sister or first
cousin.
2.3 If the winner and their
guests are under the age of 18
years old they must be
accompanied by an adult.
3. HOW TO ENTER
3.1 The competition
commences on Sunday 1 March
2009 at 00:01 (AEST) and
concludes on Saturday 7 March
2009 at 23:59 (AEST) (the
Competition Period).
3.2 In order to enter the entrants must call 1900 966 371 or SMS 1991 2022 the competition phone
numbers as they appear in
Sunday Magazine on 1 March
2009. Entrants must supply
their full name, address, state
and daytime telephone number.
3.3 Entrants (including
winners) in the competition may
enter as many times as they like.
SMS entries via the internet or
computer generation are invalid
and will not be accepted.
3.4 For entrants in all states,
the maximum entry cost is
$0.55 (including GST). Note
that SMS entries are charged at
a premium rate.
3.5 The time of entry will, in
each case, be the time the phone
call or SMS message is received
by Dialect Interactive.
3.6 Entrants under the age of
18 years must obtain the prior
permission of a parent or
guardian over the age of 18
years before entering the
competition.
4. PRIZES
4.1 1x NSW major prize winner
will receive: A Greater Union
Gold Class screening of The
Secret Life of Bees for 20 people
including catering valued at
$5,000.
80x NSW runners up winners
will receive: Two in season
passes to see The Secret Life of
Bees valued at $32. Total valued
at $2560.
1x VIC major prize winner will
receive: A Greater Union Gold
Class screening of The Secret
Life of Bees for 20 people
including catering valued at
$5,000.
80x VIC runners up winners will
receive: Two in season passes to
see The Secret Life of Bees
valued at $32. Total valued at
$2560.
Total prize pool is valued at
$15,120
4.2 The prize is subject to
availability. Date and time of
screening will be advised by the
promoter and the promotion
sponsor after the draw has
occurred.
4.3 All components of the prize
must be taken together.
4.4 In the event that the winner
is under 18 years of age, the
winner must be accompanied by
an adult.
4.5 The prize cannot be
transferred and cannot be
redeemed for cash.
4.6 The winner must, on
request by the Promoters, be
able to provide evidence which,
to the reasonable satisfaction of
the Promoters, demonstrates
that the winner is an eligible
entrant (as per clause 2.1, 2.2
and 2.3) has complied with
these Terms and Conditions.
4.7 The prizes must be taken as
stated and no compensation will
be payable if a winner is unable
to use the prize as stated. If a
winner is unable to satisfy these
terms and conditions or a prize
is not utilised or able to be taken
within the specified timeframe,
the prize will be forfeited by the
winner and cash will not be
awarded in lieu.
4.8 The prize is not
transferable, exchangeable or
redeemable for cash. In the
event that any prize item is
unavailable, the Promoters
reserve the right to substitute a
prize or item of equal or greater
value. Any taxes (other than
GST, if any) which may be
payable as a consequence of a
winner receiving the prize are
the sole responsibility of the
winner.
4.9 In participating in the
prizes, the winners agree to
participate and co-operate as
required in all editorial activities
relating to the promotion,
including but not limited to
being interviewed and
photographed. The winners
grant the Promoter a perpetual
and non-exclusive licence to use
such footage and photographs
in all media worldwide and the
winners will not be entitled to
any fee for such use.
4.10 The winner agrees that
they will not sell or otherwise
provide their story and/or
photographs to any media or
other organisation.
5. HOW TO WIN
5.1 Each entrant who has
entered the competition over
the Competition Period and
registered all details in
accordance with clause 3 will be
entered into the prize draws. All
draws will take place at Dialect
Interactive, Level 9, 190
George St Sydney NSW 2000 on
Monday 9 March at 12:00pm
(AEST).
5.2 The winner will be notified
by phone call and mail within 3
days of the draw and their name
published in the Public Notices
section of The Sunday
Telegraph and Sunday Herald
Sun on Sunday 15 March.
5.3 The Promoters decision is
final and the Promoter will not
enter into correspondence
regarding the result.
5.4 It is a condition of accepting
the prize that the winners may
be required to sign a legal
release in a form determined by
the Promoter in its absolute
discretion.
6. NO LIABILITY
6.1 In the case of the
intervention of any outside act,
agent or event which prevents
or significantly hinders the
Promoters ability to proceed
with the competition on the
dates and in the manner
described in these terms and
conditions, including but not
limited to vandalism, power
failures, tempests, natural
disasters, acts of God, civil
unrest, strike, war, act of
terrorism, the Promoters may in
its absolute discretion cancel
the competition and
recommence it from the start on
the same conditions, subject to
State Legislation.
