But one such moment has never received the recognition it deserves: In 1976, a small American winery sent shock waves through the industry by besting the exalted French wines in a blind tasting, putting California wines on the map for good.
Classic Sunday events have become immensely popular and the Classic is offering 10 AJN readers the chance to win a double pass to the event on Sunday, March 29. You’ll be able to enjoy complimentary wine and cheese prior to the screening of this beautifully made, feel-good movie starring Alan Rickman and Bill Pullman.
The screening is at 4pm on Sunday, March 29 at the Classic Cinema, 9 Gordon Street, Elsternwick. Wine and cheese will be served from 3.30pm.

Each double pass is only valid for the Classic Sunday screening of the film on Sunday, March 29, 2009 at 4pm at Classic Cinema, 9 Gordon Street Elsternwick, 3185.
Competition entries close on Friday, March 20, 2009 at noon.
The winners will be drawn at the AJN Melbourne office on Friday, March 20, 2009.
The winners will be drawn randomly and contacted by phone or email using contact details provided in their entry.
The winners' names will be published in AJN Melbourne edition on Friday, March 27, 2009.
The winner must arrive at least half an hour before their preferred screening time to collect their prize from the ticket box office at Classic Cinemas, 9 Gordon street, Elsternwick.
