Terms and Conditions
1. Information on how to enter forms part of the terms of entry. Entry into the competition is deemed acceptance of these terms and conditions. The
competition is a game skill and there is no element of chance.
2. Entry is open to all residents of Australia. However, employees and their immediate families of UK TV PTY LTD, Beinteractive Pty Ltd and their
associated agencies and companies are not eligible to enter.
3. The competition commences on Sunday 8 March 2009 at 00:01 (AEDT) and concludes on Saturday 21 March 2009 at 23:59 (AEDT).
4. To enter, participants must log onto www.uktv.com.au and register their details including (but not limited to) name, address, post code, phone
number, gender and answer in 25 words or less, which British family you would like to marry into and why?
5. By entering the promotion, unless otherwise advised, each entrant also agrees that the Promoter may use this information, in any media for future
promotional, marketing and publicity purposes without any further reference, payment or other compensation to the entrant, including sending the
entrant electronic messages.
6. Entrants under the age of 18 must obtain the prior permission of a parent or guardian over the age of 18 to enter.
7. Incomplete and incomprehensible entries will be deemed invalid.
8. One complete entry will be accepted per day (midnight to midnight) from the same person.
9. The Promoter reserves the right to request winners to provide proof of identity, proof of residency at the nominated prize delivery address and/or
proof of entry validity in order to claim a prize. Proof of identification, residency and entry considered suitable for verification is at the
discretion of the Promoter. In the event that a winner cannot provide suitable proof, the winner will forfeit the prize in whole and no substitute
will be offered.
10. The Promoter reserves the right to verify the validity of entries and to disqualify any entry which, in the opinion of Promoter, includes
objectionable content, profanity, potentially insulting, inflammatory or defamatory statements, disqualify any entrant who tampers with the entry
process, who submits an entry that is not in accordance with these Terms & Conditions of Entry or who has, in the opinion of Promoter, engaged in
conduct in entering the Promotion which is fraudulent, misleading, deceptive or generally damaging to the goodwill or reputation of the Promotion
and/or Promoter. The Promoter reserves the right to disqualify a winner if Promoter becomes aware that the winner and/or the winner’s entry is of a
type described in this clause.
11. Entries must be received by 23:59 (AEDT) on Saturday 21 March 2009. The time of entry will in each case be the time the entry is received by the
Promoter and not at the time of transmission. The Promoter accepts no responsibility for any late, lost or misdirected entries including email
messages not received by the Promoter or delays in the delivery of the email message due to technical disruptions, network congestion or for any other
reason.
12. The cost of accessing the promotional website will be dependant on the entrant’s individual Internet Service Provider.
13. Prizes: There is 1 prize available to entrants. The prize is a trip for two to London to visit the Ealing Studios. Prize includes 2 x economy
class return tickets to London flying Virgin Atlantic Airlines, 5 nights accommodation in a 4 star hotel, visit to Ealing Studios and the set of Easy
Virtue.
14. Total prize value is up to = $10,000 (including GST)
15. Prizes can not be transferred. Prizes cannot be redeemed for cash.
16. The winner (and their companion) is responsible for all other expenses including spending money, meals (unless specified), drinks, transfers
(unless specified), laundry charges, activities (unless specified), incidentals, taxes (including departure taxes), energy surcharges, gratuities,
services charges, passports, visas, travel insurance and all other ancillary costs. Travel insurance is highly recommended to protect against the
additional costs incurred in the event of unforeseen circumstances.
17. The winner and travelling companion must travel at the same time, must depart from Sydney International Airport and are responsible for transport
from their residence to Sydney for flight departure (Melbourne, Brisbane, Adelaide or Perth must organise own Domestic travel).
18. Government taxes, airport taxes and fuel surcharges are an additional cost to the winners and their travelling companions and are required prior
to ticketing.
19. Flight conditions: The flights will be invalid without the original prize winner letter. The flight is valid for the winner and a companion
travelling together in both directions. The flights must be booked within two months of winning the prize. Valid on Virgin Atlantic services only over
the specified routing and in the class of travel stated. Tickets are non-refundable, non-transferable and non-endorseable for travel on any other
airline. The prize will be forfeited for any breach of the conditions or any unlawful use of the prize. The travel period cannot be extended beyond
the expiry date as indicated on the winner’s confirmation letter which will be sent to the winner. Once the tickets have been issued they are valid
only for the flights/dates shown. Lounge passes and Limousine transfers are not permitted with the tickets. Frequent Flyer points cannot be accrued on
these tickets. Prize winner seats are subject to availability. Virgin Atlantic reserves the right to offer an alternative date of travel with the
preferred choice is not available. The flights cannot be used during the following periods: 23 March 2009 – 31 March 2009, 6 April 2009 – 20 April
2009, 23 July 2009 – 24 August 2009, 5 December 2009 – 15 January 2009. Tickets are subject to Virgin Atlantic’s standard terms and conditions
available at www.virginatlantic.com.au.
20. If the winner is under the age of 18 as at the date of the draw, an adult must accompany the minor in the participation of the prize.
21. A credit card imprint or cash deposit may be required from the winner at check-in to the hotel, for all incidental charges. Once accommodation
vouchers are issued they are non-changeable.
22. It is the traveller’s personal responsibility to ensure that they have valid documentation, including but not limited to valid passports and
visas, which meet the requirements of immigration and other government authorities at every destination. Any fines, penalties, payments or
expenditures incurred as a result of such documents not meeting the requirements of those authorities will be the sole responsibility of the
travellers.
23. If the prize is unavailable, for whatever reason, the Promoter reserves the right to substitute the prize for a prize of equal or greater value,
subject to State Regulation.
24. The promoter reserves the right to refuse to allow a winner to take part in any or all aspects of the prize, if the promoter determines, in their
absolute discretion, that a winner is not in the mental or physical condition necessary to be able to safely participate in the prize. It is a
condition of accepting the prize that the winner may be required to sign a legal release in a form determined by the promoter in its absolute
discretion.
25. Once prizes have left the Promoter’s premises, the Promoter takes no responsibility for prizes damaged, delayed or lost in transit.
26. By accepting the prize, the winner agrees to participate in and co-operate as required with all reasonable media editorial requests relating to
the prize, including but not limited to, being interviewed and photographed, filmed and/or chaperoned throughout the duration of the prize.
27. In the event that for any reason whatsoever a winner does not take an element of the prize at the time stipulated by the Promoter then that
element of the prize will be forfeited by the winner and cash will not be awarded in lieu of that element of the prize.
28. Prize values are based upon the recommended retail prices at the time of printing (inclusive of GST). The promoter accepts no responsibility for
change in prize value between now and the ultimate prize redemption date.
29. Independent financial advice should be sought as tax implications may arise as a result of accepting the prize.
30. Each valid entry received over the duration of the promotional period will be judged based on the most creative and original answer and 1 entrant
will be selected to become the winner. The judging will take place at Uk TV, 5 Thomas Holt Drive, North Ryde NSW 2113, on Tuesday 24 March 2009 at
11:00 (AEDT).
31. The winners will be notified by being sent a letter advising them of their prize. The winners’ details will also be published on the website at
www.uktv.com.au, and in public notices section of The Australian Newspaper on Tuesday 7 April 2009.
32. Unclaimed prizes will be dealt with under State Regulations. If no provision is made under the relevant State Regulation, all prizes remain the
property of the Promoter until they are claimed by a winner and, if a prize remains unclaimed after Tuesday 30 June 2009, the promoter retains the
right to dispose of the prize as the promoter chooses.
33. Should an entrant’s contact details change during the promotional period, it is the entrant's responsibility to notify the Promoter. A request to
access or modify any information provided in an entry should be directed to Promoter.
34. The decision of the judges is final and the promoter will not enter into any correspondence regarding the Competition result.
35. It is a condition of accepting the prize that the winner must comply with all the conditions of use of the prize and the prize supplier’s
requirements.
36. In the case of the intervention of any outside act, agent or event which prevents or significantly hinders the Promoter’s ability to proceed with
the competition on the dates and in the manner described in these terms and conditions, including but not limited to vandalism, power failures,
tempests, natural disasters, acts of God, civil unrest, strike, war, act of terrorism, the Promoter may in its absolute discretion cancel the
competition and recommence it from the start on the same conditions, subject to any written directions given under State Regulation.
37. The Promoter shall not be liable for any loss or damage whatsoever which is suffered (including but not limited to indirect or consequential loss)
or for any personal injury suffered or sustained in connection with any prize/s except for any liability which cannot be excluded by law. The Promoter
is not responsible for any incorrect or inaccurate information, either caused by the phone user or for any of the equipment or programming associated
with or utilised in this competition, or for any technical error, or any combination thereof that may occur in the course of the administration of
this competition including any omission, interruption, deletion, defect, delay in operation or transmission, communications line or telephone, mobile
or satellite network failure, theft or destruction or unauthorised access to or alteration of entries.
38. The Promoter reserves the right in its sole discretion to disqualify any individual who the Promoter has reason to believe has breached any of
these conditions, or engaged in any unlawful or other improper misconduct calculated to jeopardise the fair and proper conduct of the promotion. The
Promoter’s legal rights to recover damages or other compensation from such an offender are reserved.
39. The Promoter, Beinteractive Pty Ltd and their associated agencies and companies assume no responsibility for any error, omission, interruption,
deletion, defect, delay in operation or transmission, communications line failure, theft or destruction or unauthorised access to, or alteration of
entries, and reserves the right to take any action that may be available.
40. If for any reason this competition is not capable of running as planned, including due to infection by computer virus, bugs, tampering,
unauthorised intervention, fraud, technical failures or any causes beyond the control of the Promoter, which corrupt or affect the administration,
security, fairness or integrity or proper conduct of this promotion, the Promoter reserves the right in its sole discretion to disqualify any
individual who tampers with the entry process, take any action that may be available, and to cancel, terminate, modify or suspend the competition,
subject to any written direction given under State Regulation.
41. All entries become the property of the Promoter. The Promoter collects personal information about you to enable you to participate in this
promotion.
42. The Promoter is collecting the entrant's personal information for the purpose of conducting and promoting this competition (including but not
limited to determining and notifying winner).
43. The Promoter is UK TV Pty Ltd, (ABN: 88 075 174 257) of 5 Thomas Holt Drive, North Ryde NSW 2113, Australia.
44. The State Regulations will adhere to the laws of the state or territory in which the competition is judged.

I won a holiday with Virgin Atlantic to Hong Kong, flyer 'Upper Class' which is their name for first class..
In the t&c's we were suppose to pay the taxes as well, but didnt end up doing so, they just paid it all for us.
Maybe we were lucky, or maybe it depends on who books it for you at Virgin..
