Information on how to enter and prizes form part of these Terms and Conditions. Participation in this promotion is deemed acceptance of these Terms and Conditions.

To enter, individuals must visit www.canada.travel/summer or www.visitbanff.com.au, follow the prompts and enter their first name, last name, postcode, contact phone number, email address and the competition question during the promotional period.

The Promoter reserves the right, at any time, to verify the validity of entries and entrants (including an entrant's identity, age and place of residence) and to disqualify any entrant who submits an entry that is not in accordance with these Terms and Conditions or who tampers with the entry process. Failure by the Promoter to enforce any of its rights at any stage does not constitute a waiver of those rights.

Incomplete, indecipherable, or illegible entries will be deemed invalid.

Promotion commences on 21.10.08. Entries close at midnight AEST on 30.03.09. The draw will take place at Level 3/5 Queen Street Chippendale, NSW 2008 on 14.04.09 at 11am AEST. Winner will be notified by email and their name will be published in The Australian on 21.04.09. The Promoter's decision is final and no correspondence will be entered into.

This is a game of skill. Chance plays no part in determining the winner. Each entry will be individually judged based on literary and creative merit of the answer provided to the question. The Promoter's decision is final and no correspondence will be entered into.

The best entry, as determined by the Promoter in its absolute discretion will win a trip for two (2) adults to Banff Lake Louise, Canada valued at AU$12,000.00. The prize includes return economy airfares from Sydney to Calgary flying Air Canada and subject to 'H class' availability, transfers to and from Calgary airport, three (3) nights twin share accommodation at The Fairmont Banff Springs Hotel and four (4) nights twin share accommodation at The Fairmont Chateau Lake Louise and transfer from The Fairmont Banff Springs Hotel to The Fairmont Chateau Lake Louise. Prize also includes a Banff Gondola experience for two (2), a Columbia Icefield Glacier experience for two (2) and Minnewanka Lake Cruise for two (2). Spending money, meals, taxes, insurance, passports, visas, vaccinations, additional transfers, items of a personal nature, in-room charges and all other ancillary costs are not included. Prize booking must be completed by 13th October 2009 and prize must be taken by 13th October 2010 and is subject to booking and flight availability, black-out dates apply.

The winner (and their companion) must depart from and return to the same departure point and travel together. International flights are from Sydney to Calgary only and no alternative routes will be offered. The winner (and their companion) will be responsible for their own travel to Sydney.

Frequent flyer points will not form part of the prize. Prize is subject to the standard terms and conditions of individual prize and service providers. Winner may be required to present credit card at time of accommodation check in.

If for any reason a winner does not take an element of the prize by the time stipulated by the Promoter, then the prize or that element of the prize will be forfeited.

If for any reason a winner does not take the prize or an element of the prize, then the prize or that element of the prize will be forfeited and will not be redeemable for cash.

If the prize (or part of the prize) is unavailable, the Promoter, in its discretion, reserves the right to substitute the prize (or that part of the prize) with a prize to the equal value and/or specification, subject to any written directions from a regulatory authority.

Prize, or any unused portion of the prize, is not transferable or exchangeable and cannot be taken as cash.

The winner will be contacted via telephone and email.

If this promotion is interfered with in any way or is not capable of being conducted as reasonably anticipated due to any reason beyond the reasonable control of the Promoter, the Promoter reserves the right, in its sole discretion, to the fullest extent permitted by law (a) to disqualify any entrant; or (b) subject to any written directions from a regulatory authority, to modify, suspend, terminate or cancel the promotion, as appropriate.
