Thank-you sooo much OCW. I love to always check my puzzle answers against yours and usually see where I went wrong!!!
Just a question for all puzzle compers... HAS ANYONE EVER WON FROM SENDING IN THE COUPON FROM EITHER NEW IDEA OR TV WEEK??? I have been sending these coupons in religiously every week for years and never won a thing!! I think I'm about to give up on these 2 comps!!

I've won $100 from New Idea just sending in the coupon only a couple of months after I started doing it...but that was a few years ago and I haven't won a thing since.

But I still keep doing it....

Oh OCW you've given me some hope that they actually do look at the coupons. I think however, especially in recent times, they only pick winners from sms or phone. My guess is that they still have the coupons to make it look "fair" for those without a phone or mobile phone. Look at Woman's Day.. they took their coupon entry away a while ago.... I would expect the others to do the same in the near future.

In an email to me last year, mNet Corporation advised that names and addresses on coupons sent via mail are transcribed into their computer system.

These are then combined with SMS and landline entries to ensure all entrants have an equal chance of winning.

Some other magazines still do this as well but it must be a nightmare....although it gives someone a job I guess.

Since New Idea has slashed the prizemoney and the number of prizes I'm thinking about giving the comp a miss....but will I be able to resisit?
