Present your VIP card whenever you shop at Spotlight during the competition because every dollar counts! We will keep track of your purchases and every time you reach $25 we will automatically issue you an entry into the prize draw.
All purchases count until Sunday 5th April 2009. Winner will be drawn on Tuesday 14th April 2009.
Terms and Conditions - Spotlight's $20,000 VIP Cash Giveaway
1. The competition is open to all current Australian residents who have been issued with a Spotlight VIP Club card and those Australian residents who register as VIP Club members after the commencement of the competition (Member).
2. An Australian resident may become a Member by registering in a store, by phone 1300 305 405 or online at www.spotlight.com.au at no charge. Members are provided with a VIP Club card and membership number.
3. During the term of the competition, upon a purchase in any Spotlight store located in Australia or via the Spotlight Shop at Home Service, and presentation of the Member's VIP Club card/membership number, the value of every purchase made by a Member will be recorded. Based on the accumulated total, each Member will receive one entry into the competition for every $25.00 spent.
4. Entries and purchases will be recorded via the Point of Sale (P.O.S) system.
5. All entries shall become the property of the Promoter and no information as to the quantity of entries shall be provided to any Member. Entry details may be used for future promotional, marketing and publicity purposes unless otherwise advised by the entrant.
6. Employees of the Promoter and their immediate families, the Promoter and its associated agencies and companies are ineligible to win the prize.
7. The competition commences at 9.00am AEST on Tuesday, 30 December 2008 and closes at 5.00pm AEST on Sunday, 5 April 2009.
8. The electronic prize draw will take place at the Promoter's head office at 111 Cecil Street, South Melbourne, Victoria 3205, at 1.00pm AEST on Tuesday, 14 April 2009. The drawn result is final and no correspondence will be entered into.
9. The winner will be notified where possible by telephone on the day of the draw, and in writing as far as practicable within two business days and no more than five business days after the date of the draw. The name of the winner will be published in "The Australian" newspaper on Tuesday, 21 April 2009 and on the internet at www.spotlight.com.au.
10. The winner consents to their name, town/suburb of residence and a photo being published by the Promoter including being published on its internet site, as a condition of acceptance of the prize. Further information will be published only with the permission of the winner.
11. If the prize is not claimed within 3 months of the draw date, an unclaimed prize draw will be conducted on Monday, 13 July 2009 at 1.00pm AEST subject to any written directions given under Reg 46 of the Lottery and Gaming Regulations 2008 (SA). The drawn result is final and no correspondence will be entered into. The winner will be notified where possible by telephone on the day of the unclaimed prize draw, and in writing as far as practicable within two business days and no more than five business days after the date of the unclaimed prize draw. The name of the winner will be published in "The Australian" newspaper on Monday, 20 July 2009 and on the internet at www.spotlight.com.au.
12. The first entry drawn will win $20,000. The prize will be delivered in the form of a cheque made payable to the winner.
13. If for any reason this competition is not capable of running as planned, subject to the approval of those authorities which have issued permits for the conduct of this competition, the Promoter reserves the right in its sole discretion to cancel, terminate, modify or suspend the competition, including to disqualify any individual who tampers with the entry process.
14. The Promoter assumes no responsibility for any error, omission, communications line failure, theft or destruction or unauthorised access to, or alteration of entries. The Promoter is not responsible for any problems or technical malfunction of any equipment, software, failure of any email or entry to be received by the Promoter on account of technical problems or traffic congestion on the Internet or at any website, or any combination thereof, including any injury or damage to participants or any other person's computer related to or resulting from participation or downloading any materials in this competition.
15. The Promoter will take all necessary steps to ensure that entries are properly recorded and stored, but will accept no liability if an entry is not recorded or is lost. If a VIP card/number is not produced at the time of purchase, an entry will not be granted after the time of purchase. If the P.O.S System fails or if the VIP number is recorded incorrectly, every effort will be made to record the data not captured at the time of the purchase, where practical.
16. The Promoter shall not be liable for any loss or damage whatsoever (including but not limited to indirect or consequential loss) or personal injury suffered or sustained arising from or in connection with the competition, any omission to enter a person into the draw, acceptance of the prize or the prize itself, except for liability which cannot be excluded by law.
17. All Members are bound by our privacy statement as follows: Details for our VIP database are collected through Spotlight's website, customer call centre and stores. Information is used to process mail orders and enhance instore and/or online experiences. Information will not be shared with any third parties without the Members' express permission. For orders with Spotlight's Shop-At-Home Service, we collect your name, mailing address, phone number and credit card information. When you join our VIP Club, we collect your name, postal address, email address, and other relevant information so that we can send you any necessary information regarding sales and specials. We monitor purchasing behaviour and website use, in order to enhance all aspects of the Spotlight experience. We also use this information, together with purchasing behaviour and website use, to enhance all aspects of the customer's Spotlight experience.
