Over the New Year’s Eve 2007 period the High&Dry Festival was held after only 10 days of planning. Garnering mass media attention, the organisers behind the event are now planning to make H&D an annual event. Kicking things off again this year, the festival is to be held on the Aboriginal land of Camp Wollomi at the end of November. As it’s run by self-employed community arts workers the crew need as much financial help as possible, so they’re holding a fundraiser at Oxford Art Factory on Thursday 9 April. Talent performing on the night include Uncle Ho, Juke Baritone and the Swamp Dogs, The Phonies (which is an anagram of iPhone, howawesomeisthat?), Brackets, Monk Fly, El Gusto and Monkey Mark, B-Erth, Surgical Side Show and more.
