sarah4mike - 16-3-2009 @ 01:57 AM

Me too! So excited when I found it in woolies today. I have only just ran out from last time.

Saw a yummo receipe on BH&G last week for some mud pie balls with crunchy noodles in it. Going to race home and make some tonight.

Kibby - 17-3-2009 @ 03:26 AM

gawd now i need recipes for using condensed milk!time to drag out the old recipe books! i bought so much stuff best i bake something with it LOL

catrin - 17-3-2009 @ 03:33 AM

Because the barcodes needed to be posted last time, I emptied out all the choc bits into containers and then ate them all before I had time to bake anything for the poor kids!:D

Kibby - 17-3-2009 @ 03:35 AM

i sticky taped mine LOL i am really off sweet stuff at the moment too which doesnt help

Webbi - 17-3-2009 @ 03:41 AM

here's the bickie recipe I posted from last time. Beware it makes truck loads but you can freeze the dough.

500g butter
1 1/4 cups castor sugar
400g condensed milk
5 cups sr flour
250g white choc bits
2x 250g dark choc bits

beat butter sugar and condensed milk until light and creamy , add flour and choc bits. Roll about a tbs into a ball and place on trays laeving room to spread. Bake about 14-16 mibn or until light golden. Cool on tray for 5 mins before putting on wire racks to cool.

Kibby - 17-3-2009 @ 06:14 AM

this one sounds yum too!

http://allrecipes.com.au/recipe/9015/eleanor-s-seven-layer-slice.aspx

3littlepigs - 17-3-2009 @ 06:46 AM

I had sworn off chocolate for us this Easter but I'm liking that you have to send in a copy of the receipt as well as the barcodes so I will have to make an exception, and that biccie recipe sounds fantastic!

Webbi - 17-3-2009 @ 06:47 AM

yep printed that one out

here's another

CARAMEL SLICE

4oz butter
1 tbs cocoa
2 cup sr flour
1 egg
3/4 cup sugar

beat butter and sugar. Add egg and flour and cocoa, put half mix in a greased shallow tin.

FILLING
2 tbs golden syruo
1/2 tin condensed milk
2 oz butter
1/4 sugar

place all ingredients into a suacepan.Heat but do not boil. Put onto base and cover with remaining mixture. Bake in a mod oven for 20 mins. Ice with chocolate icing

( you could always make a double batch of this one)

rachaelsmum - 17-3-2009 @ 08:25 AM

Oh thanks - I love this comp :)

Another condensed milk recipe...but a little bit different (& naughty!)

Condensed Milk Ice Cream
1 can condensed milk
600ml milk
vanilla essence to taste (I use a capful from 100ml bottle)

Stir well and freeze.
Sometimes I freeze in those small jelly moulds, or just all in a container and it's a spoonful everytime you pass the freezer :P:P

LisaBart - 18-3-2009 @ 05:50 AM

pineapples1 - 20-3-2009 @ 12:16 AM

My MIL found me a couple of recipes in her 1960's cook book.

1 for the alkies! LOL

Coffee Cream Liqueur

1 x 375g can of evaporated milk
1 x 400g can of condensed milk
2 teaspoons of glycerine
1 teaspoon of vanilla essence

MIx together:

2 teaspoons instant coffe
2 teaspoons hot water
1 1/2 cups Irish Whiskey

Combine all ingredients together thoroughly. Pour into bottle, cover down airtight and store in fridge.

I haven't tried it but MIL says it is yum and keeps for 2 months in fridge.

Kibby - 20-3-2009 @ 12:17 AM

well how about 3 months LOL i have 10 weeks to go before i can indulge in alcohol again! :D

pineapples1 - 20-3-2009 @ 12:19 AM

pineapples1 - 20-3-2009 @ 12:23 AM

Yes, I think I understand! I asked for a bigger pantry to be built in our new house so I could store all the bleeping comping stuff! And I've already filled it up! Maybe I should have asked for 2 pantries to be built! LOL

Webbi - 28-3-2009 @ 12:19 AM

thought I would add this recipe as it also uses weight watchers bikkies ( 2 comps for the price of 1 lol)

Chocolate cookie Easter Truffles

Weight Watchers triple choc cookies 12
sweetened skim condensed milk 3/4 cup
milk choc 200g roughly chopped
cocoa powder 1 tbs sifted
icing sugar 1 tbs sifted

finely chop cookies and place in a bowl

combine condensed milk and chocolate in a small saucepan. Stir over low heat until smooth. Poor into chopped cookies, stirring until well combined.

refridgerate for 1-2 hours or until firm enough to roll into balls. Roll rounded teaspoons of mixture into balls and place on baking tray lined with baking paper. Refridgerate until firm. Roll half the balls in cocoa and the other half in icing sugar. Return to tray chill until firm.

Kibby - 28-3-2009 @ 02:17 AM

luckylyndy29 - 16-4-2009 @ 01:29 AM

Massive surprise in our house today!!!!Parcel post dropped off a shiny mixer and all the good stuff...thankyou so much Sarah4Mike for the competition;)

komala72 - 16-4-2009 @ 01:34 AM

WOW...its great to see some more winners. It looks like 2 of us from the first weeks draw got a letter. Now it seams the latest winners are receiving the parcel before the notification.

When I was unwrapping mine I said to hubby it would have been a nice surprise to not know it was coming and just have it show up at the door....being all excited not knowing what is was. Im waiting for a big surprise like that. It was exciting getting the letter, but I would love the surprise of a big parcel arriving unexpectedly.

wishmeluck - 16-4-2009 @ 02:25 AM

I got a letter to say I had won about 2 weeks ago and my prize arrived on Monday this week:).
I entered 8 times in total but only had 6 entries in at the time of my win.
Fingers crossed for everyone who has entered:):)
