Goodness....this was hard! I hope these are the correct answers. Please correct if you find anything different:

1. OPENING SCENE:- Lone rider's horse goes lame. Buys another from a black clad stranger he happens upon for $100...gold. Name the 1954 film?* Vera Cruz

2. "What was the first film for which the cost of obtaining the rights to the soundtrack outweighed the entire production costs?* Clerks

3. Where did Private James Ryan's three brothers die?* Two in Normandy and one in New Guinea

4. When Cary Grant received items of apparel as birthday presents from his legion of adoring female fans, who did he swap some of these items with and why?*
Clark Gable. They'd exchange monogrammed gifts they had each received, same initials.

5.Which actor within one year played Sherlock Holmes in one movie and Dr Watson in another?*Reginald Owen

6. Name the Hollywood award-winning actress of Irish descent, who made her acting debut on the London stage playing a Jewish girl?* Greer Garson

7. Name the only woman director Charlie Chaplin had in his career?* Mabel Normand

8. Which actor - a future "space traveller" - made his film debut playing a Russian?* John Phillip Law

9. Which two lead characters in a 1995 teen flick are named after two famous female singers?* Clueless – Cher & Dionne

10. CLOSING SCENE:- Man walking along shingle beach with a shotgun over his shoulder. As he stops and prepares to throw gun into the sea, he is shot through the forehead. Man falls, sea washes over his body. Name the film and the actor.* Get Carter, Michael Caine

Thanks Mzsmiley. It took me 1/2 a day of googling. I'm cranky though....(could be because I'm trying to quit smoking AGAIN and have a short fuse). I appreciate YOU acknowledging all the hard work I put in, but I've noticed that since submitting 10 people have entered using my answers without even a "ta". Makes me feel unappreciated and wondering why bother putting the answers in for such a difficult comp....1. got more chances of winning because others don't want to make the effort to figure it out and 2. if people can't be gracious enough to acknowledge the effort then why provide them with the answers......like I said....cranky and most probably over-sensitive. Just.....if I don't win.....sure as heck hope its you mzsmiley!
Cheers

Thank you LoveaBargin. :):)

I have also noticed how many people don't say thank you for post's and answers. I had someone the other day ask where an answer was for a That's Life question... which is fine but myself and a few other lotto's had answered the other 20 questions and hadn't had a chance to answer that one yet. Some people are so rude, but I do notice the ones that always say thank you.

Oh and keep up the good work with giving up smoking. Well done for making that step, i know how hard it is. It has been 7 months for me. :D

Ahh. Now I feel like a cranky cow and remember WHY I DO post answers when I can.....if others haven't beaten me to it (which is most of the time 'cause you guys are so quick). Its the majority that make make it worthwhile! I'm constantly gobsmacked how quickly you guys post Take 5 answers. It would take me all week....think I'll stick to googling answers and admit my strenghths are NOT with puzzles:D:D:D
Cheers
