Too good to be true - Florida cruise trip?
Hey guys,
My friend got a phone call from an American today from America stating she'd won a trip to Florida for 13 days including a trip to Disneyland and a
cruise.
They said she had 18 months to use it.
They also said the cruise does not accept any money and only accepts a credit card.
They mentioned no cash winnings with the prize.
She asked them to email some information to her, but they said they
don't as there are a lot of scammers around thesedays. They will be phoning back later so her husband can talk to them and 'accept the terms and
conditions.'
The competition was run through Sea and Air Travel. (She does remember
completing a survey sometime awhile ago)
I have been unable to find this competition anywhere. Does it sound too
good to be true? What are some questions she should ask when they phone back?
Thank you. |

I'd be asking for a confirmation letter or email before your friend
gives them any details. If they don't want to then hang up!

Bit strange that they mentioned the credit card so soon. This sounds dodgy as they won't send an email.
These scammers are just awlful, unfortunately they still can scam people out of their money. Yes definately ask for an email. goodluck

Its a timeshare (sort of a scam although the trip is kind of legit with about a thousand conditions on it) I have done a lot of research on it as my
Aunty took it... she gave them the $1000 but when you look into the finer detail they don't provide flights, you have to attend timeshare to get the
tickets or accommodation for the next 'leg' of the trip (and they put you in rubbish accommodation - or 'forget' to book aspects of the trip and you have
to pay for an upgrade) Yeah it might seem amazing and it might not be 100% a scam but you could end up paying thousands and thousands of dollars, or
be stranded! Scam enough for me - I told my Aunty to cut her losses (and she got all the confirmation emails but when you do the research it just
seems too dodgy!)

Thanks so much guys. I have told her not to give any money, but will pass on the rest of the details.
I really appreciate it.
