Popcorn makers- how to add flavour??

I'm about to use the Cuisinart Popcorn maker that I recently won, and it says to add just oil for popping, so how do you get any flavour into it? pretty boring on its own I would think?
Does anyone have any tips? I usually would only have salted anyway:thumbup:

My popcorn maker has a butter melter on top - I add melted butter and salt.

You can also add icing sugar or make a caramel sauce if you like it sweet

At the supermarket in the spice section there is a bottle of popcorn flavoring. Tastes ok but if you are into all things natural it might not be the best option for you if you know what I mean lol

Will have a look dabsey. Thanks.
Just threw a spoon of butter in with the oil, seems OK, and a shake of salt.

Ive looked in coles and woolies for this and they dont seem to stock it any more.

For a sweet tooth, melt butter and honey to taste and stir through freshly cooked popcorn.

Savoury, melt salted butter and stir through freshly cooked popcorn.

Personally I drizzle a bit of Queen sugar free maple syrup, or a tsp of honey on mine for a healthier option.

I don't think the popcorn flavouring is available in Australia anymore... makes you wonder what's in it!

I skip the butter thingo at the top of the machine and just add melted butter with a bit of oil, like Bagpuss does. Less mess

We add everything after it's popped. We just measure 2 tsps of extra virgin olive oil to put on top of everyone's bowl and grind a little salt

Makes the mind boggle!! Probably boggled a few minds literally with all the additives. We need to be so careful. Read the labels. Even on simple things like Gravox...you think, why do they need all this stuff in there like FLAVOUR ENHANCERS - actually MSG, and preservatives for goodness sake? I noticed the other day Schweppes lemonade in a bottle has no preservative, yet in a can it does. Go figure????:rolleyes::rolleyes:

I'd leave the pecans out....

Actually - in my case I would also leave the sugar and butter out because I can't have either of them :o

Head out to your local cinemas, I ask the staff for extra flavouring all the time, they will put some in a cup for you. It's going to give me a heart attack but it's the best stuff.

One of the most used appliances in our house! Great to pop some and put in school lunchboes. My girls are still young enough to love it without anything on top but I sometimes do a sprinkle of icing sugar.
