Victoria - lottery to test an electric car for three months!
The Victorian Government is seeking 180 households for a trial of zero-emission electric cars.
It is part of a $38 billion transport plan for the state.
The trial will involve 180 charging points and 60 vehicles which will be rotated between participants every three months.
Through the Royal Automotive Club of Victoria, it is planned to select households to test an electric car for three months via a lottery.
If you live in Victoria and are a member of the RACV, you may want to ensure you register your interest!

Can't find any info on this Andrew..any chance of a link??
Edit: Found an article about it...its not started yet via the RACV .. (bit annoyed it said that 76 submissions from big businesses had been received
but householders are not yet invited to apply..)
"Motoring group RACV will soon invite households to apply for 180 places on the $5 million, five-year trial of electric cars, trade vans and motor
scooters as part of the state-funded project.
Each household, assigned using a ballot system in anticipation of a rush of applications from interested families, will use a vehicle from the pool
for a three-month period"

Sounds good Andrew if you can get to be chosen.
My hubby said a few days ago that the elect. cars need a 10amp power point to recharge (goodie we already have one of those installed.) |

Another exerpt I have found
What are the timeframes?
A draft design for the trial has been completed and is now open for targeted stakeholder consultation. The design should be finalised in September.
Grant agreements with participants will also be completed in September, and a ballot will go out to find households to participate in the trial. The
field trial itself will begin some time in the third quarter of 2010.
