Send us your photos of water in nature this summer and you could win a $100 ABC Shop gift voucher!

Water shapes our world in many ways. It carves our land and sustains most of the Earth's plants and animals.

Summer is a great time to think about how water or lack of it affects our lives.

Send us your pics of water in nature, and tell us how the two are connected in 25 words or less and you could win an ABC gift voucher of up to $100.

Here's what you need to do:

1. Take a photo! Your pic must:

illustrate the theme: water in nature,
Be an original work created by you
Be no larger than 5MB at 72dpi

2. Write a sentence: In 25 words or less explain how your photograph illustrates the competition theme: water in nature

3. Read the terms and conditions (see box below)

4. Email your photograph and your name, address and telephone number and a description of how your photograph illustrates the theme to: abc.science.photos.0809@gmail.comabc.science.photos.0809@gmail.com

The winner will receive a $100 ABC Shop gift vouchers and two runners-up will each receive $50 gift vouchers. Winning entries will appear in a photogallery on Science Online along with nine other finalists on 29 January, 2009.

Competition opens 9am AEST Friday 19 December and closes 5pm AEST Friday, 23 January, 2009
