CONDITIONS OF ENTRY MCDONALD’S DRIVE THRU TO WIN PROMOTION

1. Information on how to enter and prizes form part of these Conditions of Entry. Entry into this promotion is deemed acceptance of these Conditions of Entry by each entrant. Entry is via Internet or SMS (premium call rate applicable for Australian residents, actual standard carriers’ SMS communication cost applicable for New Zealand residents) using SMS (short messaging service) enabled mobile phones. Some service providers and call plans may not provide access to premium SMS. Australian entrants must check with their service provider if unsure.

2. Any actual communication costs associated with accessing the promotional website remain the responsibility of each entrant and are dependent on the Internet service provider used. There is no extra charge to enter the promotion via the online entry mechanic. The Promoter will bear any costs associated with any response sent to entrants. Any contact details entered incorrectly on the website or in a SMS entry shall be deemed invalid and will result in an ineligible entry.

3. Entry into the promotion is only open to Australian and New Zealand residents aged 18 years or older. Entrants entering via SMS must be identified as having a clear relationship with the end mobile device (evidenced by entrants entering by an SMS message originating from an MSISDN that identifies the entrant) and have the bill payer’s consent to enter by SMS. The directors, management and employees (and their immediate families, including their children and wards) of the Promoter, its related entities, corporations or franchisees, printers, suppliers, providers and agencies associated with this promotion are ineligible to enter the promotion.

4. To enter the promotion, eligible entrants must, during the promotional period (as defined in Condition 6), fully complete in the manner required the following steps: a. purchase, at the prevailing usual retail price, any product from a participating McDonald’s Drive Thru restaurant in Australia or New Zealand (as applicable) during the given participating McDonald’s Drive Thru restaurant’s usual opening hours. Entrants should note that not all participating McDonald’s Drive Thru restaurants will be open at all times during the promotional period; b. obtain a receipt containing a unique letter combination from staff at the participating McDonald’s Drive Thru restaurant and retain their receipt. If the eligible entrant is advised by staff that they are unable to issue a receipt for any reason, the eligible entrant must obtain from staff a promotional scratch card containing a unique letter combination. The eligible entrant must then scratch the scratch-off panel on the card to obtain their unique letter combination. Eligible entrants who are issued with a unique letter combination in this way must retain their scratch card; and then c. enter via one of the following methods: i. send an SMS in the required format to 1999 5555 (for Australian residents) or 2226 (for New Zealand residents). The required SMS format is “UNIQUE LETTER COMBINATION” <space> “ENTRANT’S FIRST NAME” <space> “ENTRANT’S LAST NAME”. For Australian residents, maximum SMS cost is $0.55 (including GST). For Australian residents, premium carriers' SMS costs may apply in addition to the SMS cost to enter. For New Zealand residents, cost of entry will not exceed the actual standard carriers’ SMS communication cost in New Zealand. Any SMS submitted after the promotional period has closed will not be included in the promotion and will be charged $0.55 (including GST) for Australian residents or at actual standard carriers’ SMS communication cost for New Zealand residents. The charges for all SMS entry services will appear on each entrant's next mobile phone bill. All queries relating to mobile bills should be directed to the entrants' mobile phone carrier. A free reply SMS will be sent to each entrant after their entry has been received, confirming their entry has been successfully received and providing the entrant with a 10 character alpha numeric secret code. Each eligible entrant must retain the secret code in order to claim a prize in the event that they are drawn as a winner. If an SMS entry is not successful because it is not in the required SMS format or the unique letter combination submitted by an eligible entrant is not recognised by the Promoter as an eligible unique letter combination for the promotion, a “try again” message will be sent to the entrant. The “try again” message will prompt the entrant to check their unique letter combination and resubmit their SMS entry in the required format. If the entrant elects to resubmit their SMS entry, the entrant will be charged an additional $0.55 cents (including GST) for Australian residents or at actual standard carriers’ SMS communication cost for New Zealand residents. If an entrant attempts to enter the promotion five times with an invalid unique letter combination , the entrant will be blocked from entering the promotion for a period of five minutes for security reasons; OR ii. log on to www.drivethrutowin.com.au
(for Australian residents) or www.drivethrutowin.co.nz
(for New Zealand residents) and enter their unique letter combination from the McDonald’s Drive Thru receipt or promotional scratch card in the manner required. If the unique letter combination submitted by an eligible entrant is not recognised by the Promoter as an eligible unique letter combination for the promotion, a “try again” message will appear on screen. The “try again” message will prompt the entrant to check their unique letter combination and resubmit their unique letter combination. Entries will only be accepted where an entrant enters a valid unique letter combination. Once the eligible entrant has entered an eligible unique letter combination, they will be directed to an online entry form. Eligible entrants must then complete in full and submit in the manner required the online entry form. In order to fully complete the online entry form, eligible entrants must provide their first name, surname, current and valid email address and contact telephone number. Once the eligible entrant has completed in full and submitted the online entry form and accepted the Conditions of Entry, a “scratch game panel” will appear on screen. The eligible entrant must then use their cursor to “scratch” the scratch game panel. Once the eligible entrant has scratched the scratch game panel, a message will appear on screen, confirming that their entry has been successfully received and providing the entrant with a 10 character alpha numeric secret code. Each eligible entrant must retain the secret code in order to claim a prize in the event that
2they are drawn as a winner. The “scratch game panel” is for effect only and does not otherwise affect whether a valid entry is received or whether an entrant wins a prize. 5. All eligible entrants who successfully enter the promotion during the promotional period and in the manner set out above will automatically receive one (1) entry into the Minor Prize Draw applicable to the date and time they entered the promotion and one (1) entry into the Major Prize Draw applicable to the date they entered the promotion. 6. The promotion commences at 12:01am (AEDT) on 18/2/2009 (2:01am NZ time) and closes at 11:59pm (AEDT) on 31/3/2009 (1:59am NZ time on 1/4/2009) (“promotional period”). The Minor Prize component of the promotion will be run over 42 promotional days, as outlined in Condition 7. The Major Prize component of the promotion will be run over 6 promotional weeks as stated below in Condition 11. The start, close and draw dates and times (AEDT and NZ time) for each promotional week are as stated below in Condition 11. Each prize draw will take place at Adrenalin Marketing Solutions Pty Ltd, Level 1, 43 Booth Street, Annandale NSW 2038. Minor Prize winners will be notified by SMS or email. Major Prize winners will be notified by telephone and SMS and/or email and their name and locality will be published in the Australian and the NZ Herald on 19/3/2009 (for draws 1 – 3) and 9/4/2009 (for draws 4 – 6). All reasonable steps to notify winners of the results will be taken by the Promoter. The Promoter’s decision is final and no correspondence will be entered into. 7. Minor Prizes: Twenty four (24) Minor Prizes will be awarded each day from 19/2/2009 until 1/4/2009, to award each promotional day’s prize for promotional days 18/2/2009 to 31/3/2009 (inclusive). Each promotional day will commence at 12:01am (AEDT) (2:01am NZ time) and close at 11:59pm (AEDT) on the same day (or 1:59am NZ time on the following day for New Zealand residents). Each daily draw will take place at 12:05pm (AEDT) the day after the close date (2:05pm NZ time on the day of the close date). 8. For each promotional day’s draw, the first twenty four (24) eligible entries randomly drawn from all eligible entries (Australian and New Zealand) received during the relevant promotional day will each win one (1) Minor Prize. For Australian residents, each Minor Prize is one (1) AUD$100 Caltex StarCash. For New Zealand residents, each Minor Prize is one (1) NZ$100 Caltex StarCash. Minor Prizes will be mailed to each winner’s nominated Australian or New Zealand address (as applicable) within 28 days of the date they are drawn as a Minor Prize winner. 9. Entries for a given promotional day that are not drawn as a winning entry for that promotional day’s draw are NOT eligible for previous or subsequent promotional day draws. 10. For Australian residents, total maximum Minor Prize value is up to AUD$100,800.00 (Recommended Retail Price including GST). For New Zealand residents, total maximum Minor Prize value is up to NZ$100,800.00 (Recommended Retail Price including GST). Multiple entries will be accepted throughout the promotional period but eligible entrants are limited to one entry per day and each entry must be based on the purchase of a separate eligible product transaction, a separate unique letter combination and must fully comply with the entry requirements set out above. The Promoter accepts no responsibility for late, lost or misdirected entries. Incomplete, ineligible or incomprehensible entries will be deemed invalid. Entries must be received by the Promoter during the promotional period. SMS and online entries will be deemed to be accepted at the time of receipt and not at the time of transmission. 20. Each eligible entrant must retain and may be required to present proof of purchase in order to claim a prize. Entrants may be requested to provide to the Promoter proof of purchase for all entries made. If an entrant is unable to provide proof of purchase for all entries made, then it is the Promoter’s sole discretion whether to award any prize(s) to that entrant in the event they are drawn as a winner. Proof of purchase includes showing the original and providing a photocopy of the McDonald’s Drive Thru receipt containing the unique letter combination or the promotional scratch card issued by staff (as applicable) for each eligible product purchased, and providing the Promoter with the secret code provided to the entrant once their entry was received by the Promoter. The Promoter reserves the right to request (at its sole discretion) other information required in order to verify or confirm proof of an eligible purchase. 23. Entrants can only enter in their own name. The Promoter reserves the right to request the winners to produce (within the requested time) appropriate photo identification or other documentation (to the Promoter’s satisfaction, at its sole discretion) in order to confirm each winner’s identity, age, residential address and email address, eligibility to enter and claim a prize, that the entrant obtained the bill payer’s consent to enter by SMS before submitting their entry/entries (if applicable), that the entrant has a clear relationship with the end mobile device used to enter via SMS (if applicable), and any information submitted by the winners in entering the promotion before issuing a prize. Winners will need to fully complete in the manner required a Prize Winner Claim Form in order to claim a prize. Winners will be provided with instructions on how to obtain and complete the Prize Winner Claim Form when they are advised that they were drawn as a winner. If a winner does not complete and submit a completed Prize Winner Claim Form within the time requested, that winner’s entry will become invalid. If the documentation required by the Promoter is not received by the Promoter (or its nominated agent) or the winning entry has not been verified or validated to the Promoter’s satisfaction within the time requested, that winner’s entry will become invalid. The Promoter also reserves the right to view the security footage taken by participating McDonald’s Drive Thru restaurants to verify that a particular transaction took place. All prizes will only be awarded following any winner validation and verification that the Promoter requires in its sole discretion. Winner validation and verification may take up to 24 hours (for Minor Prize winners) and up to 48 hours (for Major Prize winners). 24. The Promoter may conduct such further draws as are necessary at the same time and location as the original Major Prize draws on 3/7/2009 in order to distribute any Minor Prize or Major Prize unclaimed by that date subject to any written directions given under applicable Australian State or Territory or New Zealand legislation. In any unclaimed prize draw, the winner will be the first eligible entry randomly drawn from all eligible entries (Australian and New Zealand) received during the relevant promotional day (for Minor Prizes) or the relevant promotional week (for Major Prizes). In the event of any winner in the unclaimed prize draw, any Minor Prize winners will be notified by SMS or email and any Major Prize winners will be notified by telephone and SMS and/or email and their name and locality will be published in the Australian and the NZ Herald on 10/7/2009. 25. The Promoter, its franchisees and its associated agencies and companies shall not be liable for any loss (including, without limitation, indirect or consequential loss), damage, personal injury or death which is suffered or sustained (including but not limited to that arising from any person's negligence) in connection with taking or using any prize, except any liability that cannot be excluded by law (in which case that liability is limited to the minimum allowable by law). The Promoter and its associated agencies and companies accept no liability for prizes lost or damaged in transit.
426. The Promoter reserves the right to verify the validity of entries and reserves the right to disqualify any entrant for tampering with the entry process or for submitting an entry which is not in accordance with these Conditions of Entry, or if the entrant is engaged in any unlawful or other improper misconduct calculated to jeopardise the fair and proper conduct of the promotion. The Promoter’s legal rights to recover damages or other compensation from such an offender are reserved. 27. The Promoter is not responsible for any problems or technical malfunction of any telephone or network or lines, servers or providers, computer equipment, software, technical problems or traffic congestion on a mobile network, or any combination thereof, or any other technical failures including any damage to entrant's or any other person's mobile handset or computer related to, or resulting from, participation in this promotion or the downloading of any materials related to this promotion. 28. If for any reason this promotion is not capable of running as planned because of infection by computer virus, bugs, tampering, unauthorised intervention, technical failures or any other causes beyond the reasonable control of the Promoter which corrupt or affect the administration, security, fairness, integrity or proper conduct of this promotion, the Promoter reserves the right in its sole discretion to cancel, terminate, modify or suspend the promotion, subject to any written directions made under applicable Australian State or Territory or New Zealand legislation. 29. The Promoter will not be responsible for any incorrect, inaccurate or incomplete information communicated in the course of, or in connection with, this promotion if the deficiency is occasioned by any cause outside the reasonable control of the Promoter. 30. The use of any automated entry software or any other mechanical or electronic means that allows an entrant to automatically enter repeatedly is prohibited and will render all entries submitted by that entrant invalid. 31. Caution: any attempt to cause malicious damage or interference with the normal functioning of the Promoter’s SMS applications, the promotional website or the information on the website, or to otherwise undermine the legitimate operation of this promotion may be a violation of criminal and civil laws and should such an attempt be made, whether successful or not, the Promoter reserves the right to seek damages to the fullest extent permitted by law. If the Promoter suffers loss or incurs any costs in connection with any breach of these conditions of entry or any other legal obligation by an entrant, the entrant agrees to indemnify the promoter for those losses, damages and costs. 32. SMS is not a guaranteed delivery communication tool. The Promoter and the service provider cannot accept responsibility for any SMS messages not received by the Promoter or an entrant. 33. Printing and other quality control errors will not invalidate an otherwise valid prize claim. Unless otherwise due to fraud or ineligibility under these terms and conditions all prize claims in excess of the advertised prize pool will be met. Receipts or cards are void if stolen, forged, mutilated or tampered with in any way or if the unique letter combination fails the Promoter's validation tests. Such receipts or cards are void and ineligible to enter the promotion. 34. Prizes will only be awarded where the unique letter combination fulfils all of the requirements of the Promoter's verification tests and procedures. The verification tests and procedures shall be determined by the Promoter in its absolute discretion. 35. Entrants consent to the Promoter using the entrant's name, likeness, image and/or voice in the event they are a winner (including photograph, film and/or recording of the same) in any media for an unlimited period of time without remuneration or compensation for the purpose of promoting, publicising or marketing this promotion (including any outcome), and promoting any products manufactured, distributed and/or supplied by the Promoter. The winners agree to participate in all reasonable promoted activities in relation to the Promotion as requested by the Promoter and its agents. 36. All entries and any copyright subsisting in the entries become and remain the property of the Promoter. The Promoter collects personal information about entrants to include entrants in the promotion and where appropriate award prizes. If the personal information requested is not provided, the entrant may not participate in the promotion. By participating in the promotion and opting in on the online entry form, each entrant also acknowledges that a further primary purpose for collection of entrants’ personal information by the Promoter is to enable the Promoter to use the information to assist the Promoter in improving goods and services and to contact entrants in the future with information on special offers or provide entrants with marketing materials via any medium including mail, telephone and commercial electronic messages (SMS (Short Message Service), MMS (Multimedia Message Service), IM (Instant Messaging) and email) or any other form of electronic, emerging, digital or conventional communications channel whether existing now or in the future. The Promoter may share information with its Australian and New Zealand related companies and promotional partners who may contact entrants with special offers in this way. By entering the promotion and opting in on the online entry form, each entrant agrees that the Promoter may use entrants’ personal information in this manner. Each entrant also agrees that the Promoter may publish or cause to be published the winner’s name and locality in any media as required under the relevant lottery legislation. Entrants can also gain access to, update or correct any personal information by contacting the McDonalds Privacy Officer by mail at PO Box 392, Pennant Hills NSW 2120 (for Australian residents) or 302 Great South Road, Greenlane, Auckland New Zealand (for New Zealand residents). Great comp! Thanks RB :):):)

luckyeleven - 18-2-2009 @ 06:41 AM

I've just been to get a drive through and saw the other car in front of me refuse the receipt. I hope this isn't going to be one of the competitions where the employees keep receipts not wanted to hand out to family memebers. ?????????

Bigam - 18-2-2009 @ 06:43 AM

I forced the kids to get a flurry and then I accidentally threw out the receipt!!!!!

wyvern_of_myst - 18-2-2009 @ 08:07 AM

So......
C'mon.... 'fess up
who else had maccas for dinner tonight??? :P

The boy in DThru at our local store was telling everyone about the comp so I don't think there'll be any receipts left behind there tonight!

komala72 - 18-2-2009 @ 08:38 AM

I couldn't think of a better excuse to treat the kids to a soft serve.

Of course I had to go back to get one for the eldest too. She laughed when I told her she's going to have to have one everyday for the next 6 weeks.

The second trip he didn't give me my receipt though...Oh well I'll just have to go back tomorrow for another soft serve :D

payitforward11 - 18-2-2009 @ 08:48 AM

prizesgalore - 18-2-2009 @ 08:58 AM

My car wouldn't make it through the drive through. Last time we went through, McDonalds had a blackout and we got stuck and my car blew a head gasket so have to wait until I get my new car before I can enter this one :)

melb10157 - 18-2-2009 @ 09:16 AM

Ok I'll fess up. Watch out for a charcoal Land rover then.

KatrinaP - 18-2-2009 @ 10:44 AM

I'll be sure to wave, melb! :)

Pink Shoes - 18-2-2009 @ 10:47 AM

Oh PrizesGalore, maybe you could go thru on roller skates and they wouldn't notice, or perhaps strap a cardboard box over your shoulders and draw some headlights on it and walk thru.

Winnersaregrinners2 - 18-2-2009 @ 11:52 AM

From my understanding of Condition 19 - you are only allowed to enter ONCE per day.

Can somebody clarify this for me, as our local Maccas also has a sign which clearly states ONLY ONE ENTRY PER DAY PERMITTED !!

missmuffet - 18-2-2009 @ 12:33 PM

Yes, the receipt also says once per day.

JScully666 - 18-2-2009 @ 09:43 PM

hi guys great comp hope i win something :)

one question i have is, i got my receipt through drive thru
plus i got a little scratch card?
my receipt has a different code to the one i have on the scratch card.
so does this mean i have 2 different entries?
if so i'll save my other code for 2mor heheh

missmuffet - 18-2-2009 @ 10:15 PM

Not sure - when you go online, there is a 'scratch' card. You are given a new code, which is what you need to claim a prize?

; b. obtain a receipt containing a unique letter combination from staff at the participating McDonald’s Drive Thru restaurant and retain their receipt. If an entrant attempts to enter the promotion five times with an invalid unique letter combination , the entrant will be blocked from entering the promotion for a period of five minutes for security reasons; OR ii. log on to www.drivethrutowin.com.au

so looks like you have two entries

bubbella - 19-2-2009 @ 12:58 AM

What an awesome competition!

how fat do we need to get, now you are encouraged to stay in your car, heaven forbid we want to WALK inside to get some junk food LOL

WhitePointer - 19-2-2009 @ 01:05 AM

Once youve purchased, you could get out of car and walk around and eat, then get back in you car, go through the drive through again and do the whole process again. There exercise done for the day.

Please do not make accusations on here as they not taken lightly.

This competition started on the 18/02/09 member could have purchased from that date onwards and submitted their entries on differant days.

Their entries may total 11 all up.

EDITED:

We have entered 3 times in one day.....but everyone entered their own way...with 3 separate purchases.
Also you have to be over 18 years to enter:)

Winnersaregrinners2 - 21-2-2009 @ 03:05 AM

Think the odds of winning this comp would be about 1 in a million.....how many people would go thru McDonalds Drive Thru on a daily basis?

More chance of winning lotto.......

BUT.....

never the less, I have entered ona daily basis as you ahve to be in it to win it.

komala72 - 21-2-2009 @ 03:43 AM

Is it one entry per person isn't it not per household...naturally my hubby and I share the same address LOL?
We both have entered on the same day. I've only got 4 entries between us.

Sorry but the issue above made me wonder????

Keep in mind the winner of the car will have to be able to obtain a drivers license to claim the prize. Careful you dont invalidate yourself by entering children

yep your right it quite clearly states that you have to be over 18 to enter!!

The directors, management and employees (and their immediate families, including their children and wards) of the Promoter, its related entities, corporations or franchisees, printers, suppliers, providers and agencies associated with this promotion are ineligible to enter the promotion.

gibbo11 - 21-2-2009 @ 06:17 AM

Son thinks this comp is pretty good, he likes his soft serve and it's not very often I go through drive-thru:):)

Best wishes to all who enter:)

kismet - 22-2-2009 @ 06:33 AM

I will torture myself just so I can enter!!! ;););)

funnymummy26 - 22-2-2009 @ 06:40 AM

same, my daughter is thrilled I said she could have an icecream after school everyday for the next 6 weeks!!!! :P:);):D

komala72 - 22-2-2009 @ 08:13 AM

Ice creams again for the kids today.
Is anyone finding they have to ask for the receipt otherwise they wont give it to you. ?

nwhincup - 22-2-2009 @ 11:00 AM

Yes komala72.. I have had to ask for receipts.. and both times been given dirty looks. Not good..

btw - I bet the sales of Icecream Cones goes through the roof!!

Kibby - 22-2-2009 @ 11:23 AM

just found this comp. might just go buy a diet coke each day LOL

munchkin - 22-2-2009 @ 12:09 PM

I often buy takeaways for the clients at my workplace and have to have receipts. I have found that when I say I need a receipt as it's a workplace purchase I never have a problem.

Thanks for the comp:):)

Well, if they want to run the comp, they have to put up with the cr@p that comes with it lol!

Geez, how hard is it to hand someone a receipt? They're probably hoarding them so that they can give them to their friends to enter with :mad::mad:

cleanup - 22-2-2009 @ 09:34 PM

Our local is handing the receipts to every car, sitting in the line behind them you can see the huge receipt being passed out the window LOL
The chances of a win may be slim because of this but remember they need to KEEP the receipt to claim a prize, a lot of NON compers will enter then chuck the receipt out or put it somewhere safe then forget where, so there is always the second chance draw to look forward to ;) :D

Kibby - 24-2-2009 @ 09:08 AM

stupid thing i cant get my code to work. will have to call them tomorrow

meemee - 24-2-2009 @ 12:27 PM

kibby do you have 2 letters next to the lines on the right, all on their own?

Enter them 2 first and then the rest. It worked for me when I put my 2 in the front. :)

mudcrab - 24-2-2009 @ 12:44 PM

thankyou, meemee.
My entry has now worked.

I have since noticed if I give the correct change they always say 'see ya later' and close off, I have to ask for my receipt. If I require change they always give the reciept with the change.
I guess ordinarily people dont want the reciept and drive off. I just make sure I dont give the correct money now. Its awkward asking for the docket after they've said thanks and goodbye. Problem solved.

Yep the kids had soft serves again today. ..I might have to ease off a bit. I've tried alternating it but haven't been able to get hubby to get a hash brown on the way to work yet.

Hopefully someone will win from lottos.

I had the same problem with the last two digits broken off the end and slightly higher. After not going through I realised they where actually on the line above so they come first...it worked then. Today was the first one like it . All onther where printed in a straight linear line.

Hope that makes sence:)

Kibby - 25-2-2009 @ 01:10 AM

thanks yes i got an email reply and apparently thats the prob. the two letters off to the right side are actually the first 2 letters. They are trying to rectify it.

i had to ask for my receipt too LOL she gave me a funny look as all i bought was a small diet coke :D

Yep...I feel just as weird asking for the recipt for a soft serve...I had to ask today. You would think they would have worked it out by now and know WE want our receipts. I wonder if they want them for themselves....even though employees are ineligible.

luckyeleven - 25-2-2009 @ 04:09 AM

I noticed twice that the car infront of me was asked if they wanted the receipt and twice they said no and the person at the window put it to one side.

Who's to stop them giving it to their friends and family!!!

enchantedspirit - 25-2-2009 @ 04:30 AM

whats to stop night fillers ripping off codes off products etc etc, merchandisers could be doing the same giving codes etc to family members and the list goes on, thats life!!! We will all still enter regardless LOL;)

pirate - 25-2-2009 @ 05:10 AM

DD and I just bought two wraps and a coke, and asked for separate receipts (meaning a receipt per item). After much kerfuffle they managed to give us one receipt for the coke, and one for the two wraps. When we went to the pick-up window, we were given the coke...when we asked for the wraps, we were told they'd been cancelled. Handed over the receipts as proof, and were eventually given the wraps, then had to ask for the receipts back!
I think I'll have a strong drink before I attempt that again!! DD was mortified!!

meemee - 25-2-2009 @ 05:17 AM

Next time just drive through 3 times. :D

purplepetunia789 - 25-2-2009 @ 07:56 AM

I've had no prob getting receipts
mind you
I do order a sausage n egg muffin and hash brown for brekky every am on my way to work!!!!

Cheez!

oh and yes that was on it too!!!
if I don't win-I'm going to get them to pay for my liposuction

funnymummy26 - 25-2-2009 @ 08:59 AM

I have no shame! I go thru the drive thru and get a cone for myself and my daughter with a twirl in each and ask for 4 separate orders. 1 x twirl please.
Another order:
1 x twirl please.
Another order:
1 x cone please.
Another order:
1 x cone please.
They look at me weird and give me the twirls in a cup and the icecreams on their own...

I should be embarassed but I'm so not!!!

Ruth - 25-2-2009 @ 01:55 PM

Oh so you are the lady holding up the queue!!!!!
Just joking, that gave me a good laugh for the day & then noticed your username - funnymummy!!!!! It fits!!!!!

funnymummy26 - 25-2-2009 @ 03:28 PM

enchantedspirit when you mention:

"whats to stop night fillers ripping off codes off products etc etc, merchandisers could be doing the same giving codes etc to family members and the list goes on, thats life!!! We will all still enter regardless LOL"

I am an ethical merchandiser and do not do this type of thing.

Nothing personal...I was just trying to point out it was no big deal with the Mcdonalds receipts as there is plenty of other opportunities around in competitions for other people to do the same stuff and we all still go ahead enter and win!!!

Leah17 - 26-2-2009 @ 02:17 AM

Been through a couple of times and no problems but then I went through today and ordered one coke and gave correct change, she put receipt to side and said "your right" I asked for my receipt she then called manager and asked how to reprint receipt, he then reprinted receipt and gave to me..I quickly got home and made sure I entered first..didnt want a 'your code has been entered' message.

Today in my Maca's I noticed a sign on the drive thru window that said for Occ heath and Safety reasons they can only serve people in motor cars and on motorbikes :D

Thought maybe lots of compers without cars in my area :D:D:D

wyvern_of_myst - 26-2-2009 @ 05:02 AM

We used to ride horses through the drive through as teenagers and they didn't like it.;)

Don't know where my comping brain is at the moment because I went through drive through yesterday, knowing they had a comp, bought 2 waters and said I didn't want a receipt.:o:o:o

I can't enter at the moment, looks like the site is down. Anyone else having problems ?

tryinagain - 27-2-2009 @ 08:49 AM

Just found out that Hubby did the drive thru with the kid, bought a cone and REFUSED the receipt AAAAAAAAh
Guess I will have to go back tomorrow.:(:(
Or maybe as he is out doing a driving lesson with number 1 son they could practice going thru a drive thru:D:D

komala72 - 27-2-2009 @ 09:59 AM

Ha ha ha the guy knew today I wasn't going to drive off today until I got my reciept for my soft serve.
I didn' t have to ask.

mudcrab - 27-2-2009 @ 10:06 AM

Any winners yet???

My lunch each day is the brekkie mini wrap.

So looking forward to my salad roll when this closes!

wafers - 27-2-2009 @ 10:59 AM

bought a small drink today, didn't give the girl the right money so she would have to give me change and receipt. She gave me my change but proceeded to scrunch up my receipt into a ball in front of me! I told her I would like that receipt please, and the look she gave me!

tsedge - 27-2-2009 @ 10:59 AM

i was greeted with 'what would you like tonight?' at my local drive thru that i've been going through each night after work - how embarrassing. i don't even have to ask for receipt, they give it to me with a grin. :D

gibbo11 - 27-2-2009 @ 11:08 AM

Went through drive through tonight and after a full week head on at work: Just one of those weeks that tend to be very emotional and brain draining (was really looking forward to just take aways, with the kids as hubby went to Melbourne) Went through drive through and placed order and got home and bugger. Did not get what we ordered. Made my day:cool::cool::cool:

Went back and got correct order and they apologised and gave me a card for a free coke. I reckon that is all I will win from this comp lol, but will keep entering;););)

gypsy - 28-2-2009 @ 02:43 AM

Had my grandson with me yesterday & he asked if we could have Maccas ,adding I know you'll say no .So got a shock when gran agreed , explained the comp on the way said we would be going through a couple of times ,he thought it was a great joke .
Got his order 1st then went back for mine , girl says you just went through , I said yes but I wasn't hungry till I smelt his , she said it has that effect on a lot of people :D:D:D
We ate then Taylor says I'm still hungry so being the good gran we went round a 3rd time , said he has hollow legs .Had no problems with receipts , they were handing them to every customer .

Smiley - 28-2-2009 @ 07:19 AM

Our Maccas has a sign on the wall at the drive through register that reads - Due to the current competition please make sure all customers receive a receipt.

Now I can drive through and ask for a cone and not even have to ask for a receipt as it's automatically handed over.

Can someone tell me what some of the cheapest items on the menu are. We've been getting 50c ice cream cones but what else is there that's no more than say $1.50.

wenwin - 28-2-2009 @ 07:30 AM

hot apple pies are $1.

I live in the Newcastle area and I have seen those signs. I have also seen in the past older people on those mobility scooters going through drive through maybe that's why they put the signs up:D

I often drive through for a cappacino and the lady who serves me a lot says no-one wants their receipts, which I thought good more chance for lottos members;).

I remember working with someone who won a car from a Maccas comp so it can happen! Good luck everyone.

luckymum49 - 28-2-2009 @ 11:04 AM

I've been making hubby buy me a box of Cookies each day on his way to work. They are $1 a box and if you don't eat them straight away like I do you can store them in your pantry for ages.

mudcrab - 28-2-2009 @ 11:12 AM

what a good idea, luckymum!
a nice cheap entry also:)

Kezza74 - 28-2-2009 @ 12:24 PM

We buy a 50c cone on the way home from school each day....
Yes nice and cheap.....

jaxsaur - 28-2-2009 @ 02:03 PM

I'm so surprised we haven't seen any winners yet??

This arvo my son & I went thru, got a happy meal & sat & ate it in the park... it was then I realised I didn't get a receipt (usually so diligent but too busy worrying about the damn rainforest book!:D)... so I just went back thru & told the speaker box that I just wanted my receipt from 10mins ago!!!:P:P:P Not much they could do about it when I was blocking the whole drive thru!!

LOL you are a good gran gypsy:):):) I suppose our cones will go up soon, at the moment they are only 30 cents. I don't think i have ever purchased a treat for all three for under $1 before.:D:D:D

Went through the other day, bought my son an ice cream, got my receipt and drove off, but forgot to pick up the ice cream. Had to get out and go inside and get it. Well, the ice cream's not that important, I was concentrating on getting the receipt.

happyaussie - 3-3-2009 @ 03:40 AM

Thanks for the post, I am really enjoying all the comments and the different ways to go through the drivethrough. :D It has given me some ideas!! I have had no trouble with getting receipts in my area but I do not give the exact money either as someone suggested. No wins here yet but hoping :)

I think you could just about store any of Macca's food in pantry for ages..and still be 'edible' :D

EDIT: I grab an medium ice coffee on my way home each morning from work and the guys/girls that work there are great..never have to ask for a receipt, just automatically hand it to you..no attitude, nothing.

Kibby - 4-3-2009 @ 05:28 AM

stupid thing sits on the registration page and does nuthing. spose i will try the code again

wyvern_of_myst - 4-3-2009 @ 06:39 AM

Mine did the same kibby but when I tried again it said that the code had already been used.

I rang the number on the webpage and the girl told me that my initial entry must've made it through and if I was drawn out as the winner, they would give me the code again anyway so not to worry.... It worries me that they're gonna make it hard if it is drawn out.... I've had three entries where the page has just sat there!

Kibby - 4-3-2009 @ 06:40 AM

ok thanks for letting me know. i have kept my receipts anyway

gibbo11 - 4-3-2009 @ 07:55 AM

It looks as though they may be having site issues:(

Perhaps they are posting our names on the winners list;)

Fingers crossed:):)

komala72 - 4-3-2009 @ 07:58 AM

The web page is down at the moment.....page not found!!!

What is happening to us pmsl.....Fogetting to get the soft serves is so funny.

Yesterday I nearly drove off and had to reverse back to ask fo the reciept, lukcy no one was behind me. Later that day I got a pwerade and walked off, I went back just as the lady was srewing it up.

Today I noticed the car infront didn't get a receipt...I thought thats sneaky when she didn't give me one either. They told me the machine wasn't working....so I asked for a scratch card instead (lucky I read the t&c which said to do so). They then told me I had to ask the manager for it when I got to the window. He went off for a while and finally came back with a recipt for a something different. He must have made it up from their other closed register.

Have we had any winners yet...surely some daily winners. !!!

vvanessa26 - 8-3-2009 @ 12:07 PM

LovaBargain - 8-3-2009 @ 12:52 PM

I went to buy cookies the other day and they told me they no longer sell them, can everyone else still buy them or is it just my Maccas?

My heart would have leapt into my throat too...congrats on the fuel card. I've been surprised theres been no other winners too. I expected a few. Thought maybe they hadn't started notifying winners yet???? I'd still be entering for the car. Surely the fuel voucher wont make you ineligble to win the car. Or get another family member to enter, one that old enough.

vvanessa26 - 8-3-2009 @ 11:07 PM

Yes was thinking putting entries in my partners name from now on but just reading in the t & cs it was saying they can revify entries by drive through footage that the entries are valid would be expecting they would only be doing this with major prizes but pretty clever makes me feel better about the reciepts that are not getting handed out i have to ask for every reciept but 1 bet the staff hate this comp but its keeping them in a job every reastuarnat in town is quiet execpt maccas

LovaBargain - 9-3-2009 @ 07:42 AM

Enchantedspirit. They are still listing them on the mcdonald website menu so I'm hoping they are still available.;)

You must be kidding...I cant believe thats in the t&c. I dont belive for a minute that they would actually go through that. I doubt they would even keep any footage for long. Even so, whos to say you cant buy lunch for hubby. Unless they have tapped into your webcam (now thats spooky) how would they know which of you entered.

funnymummy26 - 11-3-2009 @ 02:23 PM

I don't think they'd do it either. Sounds like BS to scare maccas employees from giving to their friends. I'm sure they would check if they had reasonable information that someone might have really scammed.

kembc - 11-3-2009 @ 10:51 PM

I bought cookies through the drivethru yesterday. They had stacks of them sitting by the window.
My son said "Wow, we haven't had these in a long time!" He'll be getting plenty now!

dirtydi - 13-3-2009 @ 06:10 AM

Taken me forever to enter on here today.
Finally got to the end to scratch off the bun
only half way through writting down the code when it flashed back to the comp page.
So hav not got all my code
Really pissed off!!!!!!!

mska - 13-3-2009 @ 06:15 AM

Similar thing happened to me too, dirtydi :mad::mad::mad:

dirtydi - 15-3-2009 @ 11:09 AM

OMG!!!!

Where are all the winners!!!!

gibbo11 - 15-3-2009 @ 11:16 AM

Lol dirtydi!!!

I think McDonalds are giving us all the silent treatment at this stage:P:P:P

I am sure sales have sky rocketed though;););):P:P:P

Cheers and best wishes to all of us who have entered:):)

Ruth - 15-3-2009 @ 12:21 PM

I like that idea...Im sure the kids are getting sick of the soft serve. I could use them for school recess. How much are they now????

mudcrab - 15-3-2009 @ 01:47 PM

komala, they are 1.00 a box

enchantedspirit - 15-3-2009 @ 09:56 PM

Cool...I thought they where a lot more than that....Now i know what to buy today.
Well lets hope they still have them. Fingers crossed, I really dont want to have another softserve or cheesburger. If not I just ask for a serve of m&m's. I wonder what they will think of that.

Annne - 17-3-2009 @ 11:19 PM

Popped into Maccas drive thru this morning.
Gave the girl not the right money on purpose to get receipt and she only gave me change. I asked for my receipt and she did give it to me but then turned around and grabbed a small neat pile of receipts which were piled next to her register and passed them to a fellow employee.
No guessing what they were up to!
I did call the Help number on receipt to notifiy of what happened and she said thay have had quite a few calls reguarding this happening and will follow this up.
No wonder I can't win with my few entries.

funnymummy26 - 18-3-2009 @ 01:35 PM

I don't think they can stop this from happening...

Bree - 19-3-2009 @ 08:09 AM

Going on how Maccas have behaved with their other comps in the past it will be interesting to see just how big a stuff up this will be.

Interesting...I had wondered about that happening too. She cant be very bright doing it in front of you. She would have to have known why you requested your receipt. It would be interesting if they feed this back to the manager.

kirstysis - 19-3-2009 @ 08:25 AM

And with all the McD's in Australia, that's a lot of entries that could be going astray!!!!:mad::mad::mad::mad:

mudcrab - 19-3-2009 @ 10:08 PM

where are all thw winners?

wasnt draw 1-3 meant to be in pns a couple of days ago?

vvanessa26 - 20-3-2009 @ 08:42 AM

recieved my fuel card a couple of days ago it came by registered post it is very funny that there are not many winners at all from this comp considering there are a reasonable amount of prizes o well i beilieve in karma

jokaboobie - 20-3-2009 @ 12:46 PM

my local mcdonalds had issues with my receipt and they asked me to park when i insisted i wanted it. 30 minutes after first getting to the drive thru i was still waiting and the manager came out and said "sorry, but the printer is broken"

i mentioned that it is really frustrating that i have had to ask for my receipt each time i had come thru and that the staff seem to just pile them up next to the register.

manager insisted that it is common practice as in drive thru most people do not want their receipt unless they have paid by eftpos. when i said that with the promotion running that surely most people would ask for one, she still said that it would be lucky if 1 out of 10 people would want their receipt and thats why we are asked if we want it.

she also went on to say that all employees are unable to enter the competition and that the receipts in the pile are handed to the manager to be destroyed at each drive thru staff change over. she also said that the winner of the cars has the drive thru footage checked to confirm that they are infact the person that drove thru. they ask for your number plate and confirm it on the video loop that is kept for 10 days..so if a man is claimed to be the winner and a lady is seen driving the car, bad luck you have failed to meet the t&c's. this is also why she couldnt supply me with a receipt that had been printed prior to the machine malfunction.

not sure if this is to save money on a car if someone cheats or if they really are simply enforcing rules for fairness!!

oh, and she was not aware of the scratch cards that were supposed to be supplied in the event of a printer breakdown. this is stated in the t&c's but she had never heard such thing.

sorry to be long winded but hopefully this helps clear up a few things...
cheers...

mudcrab - 20-3-2009 @ 12:50 PM

thankyou!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

HecticTurtle - 20-3-2009 @ 12:53 PM

I seriously doubt they will be checking video footage for male/female drivers LOL Maybe they would check for employees driving through if theres a discrepancy over the winner working there or something. I would assume if I won, the number plate is enough to prove its my car and I have no connection to Maccas regardless of who was driving?

My husband is often the one driving, but I will come home and enter the competition in my name. If they tried to bail out of giving me a car I won purely because I wasnt driving, well, they would have a fight on their hands!

Ditto - my son enters sometimes as well as myself. sometimes we buy lunch for him other times I buy a coffee. but I ALWAYS drive - would fight to the end for a car too

levi - 20-3-2009 @ 09:03 PM

do you think the point of asking for number plates be more about just checking that itself? If the window operator gave to friends etc they are going to have no idea what the right number plate is.

Jonette 165 - 21-3-2009 @ 05:24 AM

Hi guys!!
I don't know about any other Maccas, but the one I use the camera is pointing down, looking at the number plate. So in actual fact, I don't think the camera would be able to clearly see if it is male or female driving the car. I imagine it would only get the waist down, if that. I may be wrong, I will go and get an icecream later and suss it out :):)

Never had any problems getting my receipts, no wins though :(

jokaboobie - 21-3-2009 @ 08:04 AM

Keep in mind that this is just one managers comments in regards to a promotion...

i too enter in my name if my hubby has brought me home a receipt... they could check all they like in regards to footage, i can confirm number plates anyway! if i put my husbands name and he received a call he would have no idea and convince them they have the wriong guy!

funnymummy26 - 23-3-2009 @ 12:18 PM

Ha ha Jokaboobie, thats hubbies for ya! As I said before, I think its just in case there was reasonable doubt that someone was cheating, I'm really sure they would not rule on the fact that a partner or friend was driving.

maeve51 - 24-3-2009 @ 04:14 AM

we would be in trouble as we hired a car on holiday in Adelaide, can't remember the rego number at all:D:D

mudcrab - 27-3-2009 @ 08:54 AM

wow, what a fizzer this comp has been....so far!

Cant believe that we only have one petrol card winner so far! (open to corrections, tho:))

LisaBart - 27-3-2009 @ 09:22 AM

BIL got an sms to say he had a win of petrol voucher today!!

mudcrab - 27-3-2009 @ 09:38 AM

Yah to you, Lisa Bart!

EdenLouise - 29-3-2009 @ 12:10 PM

We are still waiting on the published list on winners though aren't we? T & C say weeks 1 - 3 would be published back on 19th March.

3littlepigs - 31-3-2009 @ 02:08 AM

Drove through for an icecream on the way home from daughter number one's exam this morning, she insisted an extra cone was purchased for the puppy! Dog was beside himself and has learned a new word today...icecream!

Herebluecat - 31-3-2009 @ 06:11 AM

gibbo11 - 17-4-2009 @ 05:38 AM

Gee they are taking there sweet time with this.

Does anyone know if there is a winners list somewhere?
