South London Postcode Lottery (scam)
South London Postcode Lottery (scam)
I just got an email from the 'South London Postcode Lottery' telling me I was a major prize winner and won £210,000.00 GBP.
The competition details said:
We rolled out over £6,000,000.00 (Six MillionUnited Kingdom Pounds) for our end -year draw. Participants for the draws were randomly selected and
drawn from a wide range of web hosts which enjoy our patronage .The selection was made through a computer drawn system attaching personalized email
addresses to ticket numbers.
No company name, no info on how they got my details. In their message they requested my full name, phone number, address, etc etc. Oughtn't they to at
least have my name, if I am a 'winner'?
Much as I'd like to believe this, I guess it must be spam... Just wondering if anyone else got this kind of email? There's always a tiny part of me
that thinks 'what if it's true?' (but not enough to actually answer their email... that's just asking for trouble.) |

UPS Manager (Undeliverable parcel)
Got this one early this morning, so PLEASE DO NOT open the attachment if you got it too...IT IS SPAM and attachment may have virus attached.
Because we get so excited when we get parcels, some newbies might be particularly vunerable. I actually noticed that mine has an INCORRECT email
address for me (!!!) but still got delivered, so it may be the spammers have used the blind cc (BCC) option on the email, with a whole bunch of names
on it
Do not be tempted to look at the attachment. Good compers
"Hello!

Cause: Error in shipping address.
You may pickup the parcel at our post office personaly!
Please attention!
The shipping label is attached to this e-mail.
Please print this label to get this package at our post office.
Please do not reply to this e-mail, it is an unmonitored mailbox.
Thank you.

You might have nettie33. DO NOT download the spyware that is being recommended! It is all part of this virus that originated from Eastern Europe. |

Hi Zammit, My computer is ok. but would you believe I got another one today claiming to be from DHL, same thing , a parcel at post office & to
download & print form so I could pick it up. I deleted immediately. I used to work for DHL in Sydney & Brisbane for 15 years, & my
daughter works for them also, in Sydney. So I know that they don't send emails to anyone re undeliverable parcels to be picked up at Post Office. What
on earth does anybody get out of wrecking anyones computer with a virus , I don't know. Anyway my computer seems ok, hopefully it doesn't crash. |

twinmacs I also got an identical email from so called Paypal with an identical amount of money for eBay transaction. I knew better than to click on
any of the links and tried to forward the email to spoof@paypal.com
The email refused to be sent with a message from my service provider that a Virus was in the email. It was deleted with thankfully no bad effect |
