I don't see what the big deal is and why it's not accepted... There are a lot worse things in the world I'd be worried about.
My Dad has the most loving relationship and happy relationship with his partner moreso than a lot of heterosexual couples. I also have a great
relationship with my dad and so do my brothers.
I like to think we are the real 'modern' family. Dad is gay, my brother is gay (and in a happy relationship too), I'm married to a Maori man, one
brother is married to a gorgeous Thai woman, and my other brother's partner is American.
The common theme in our family is tolerance and acceptance but you know what more than anything.... LOVE!! I think we have a gorgeous happy family.
I'm glad my mum and my dad brought us up this way.
And welcome heydj - I don't think I said it earlier.

hello and welcome heydj!
I honestly don't care if your gay or straight or pink with polka dots (wouldnt that be a sight?), welcome to Lottos, I can see both sides of the
argument I can understand why some don't like that you've asked the question- it really doesnt have much to do with comping, but neither does Father
issues or SAHM, but you should feel free to ask any question you like, no other member is barred from doing so.. I think we (as a majority) are quite
understanding and easy to get along with, unfortunatly there will always be a minority that thinks they are better than someone else which is just not
me - I am baffeled how someone can tell another human being their way of living is wrong (well if you have canabalistic tendancies I might) but sexual
tendancies certainly not...
Anyway I hope you enjoy Lottos, and my message for the day "Live and let live" |

I've been reading this thread since the very first post. I deliberately refrained from comment becasue I knew it would blow out to this.
michae1 had already put an end to his view so I didn't want to throw fuel on the fire. Its obvious to the rest of us his view is not typical and
although there are some who feel that way, most choose to keep it to themselves. And they should, its no-ones right to insult and offend another. We
are all different. No one should be judged on their gender, sexuality, religion, race, political prefrence. And being gay is not really so different.
We all know and love people who are gay/lesbian.
I couldn't begin to imagine how hard it would be for someone to realise, admit and accept they are gay. We have been through it with a much loved
family friend who was almost my BIL. I also suspect a couple of close family members are but haven't come out yet. And when/if they do no one will
change their feelings or opinons of them. My view is none of us have a right to judge if we are not in that position ourselves. We dont understand
what they are going through. It is ignorace for anyone to think people are gay/lesbian by choice. many struggle with accepting it themselves. I , for
one, wont pass judgement and am proud of those who have the courage to 'come out' and be true to themselves and who they are. It must be extremely
tough. Thank god views have changed and we are no longer in the dark ages.
heydj has as much right to ask for friends who have simular life situations as anyoone else. Mothers ask for advice from other mums, Single parents
seak other single parents, Aspergers parents support each other....whats the difference. We all appriciate the support of others who understand our
situation.
This forum is often an outlet for those who cant share their issues with close family and friends.
I hope the positive opinons have outweighed the negative for anyone who was upset by this thread. |

My advice is to just accept everyone's opinions and to agree to disagree. I stopped giving an opinion on some things a long time ago as it isn't worth
the backlash. Everyone is different and unique in their own way and some things in life will never change as their will always be prejudices against
so many things for ever and a day.
That's life I'm afraid.

being told what I beleive is wrong as does anyone. My sister knows how I feel as always has, doesnt change the fact that shes my sister, we have
different beliefs. Everyone agreeing with everyone will never happen until then , im going to take some good advice i wish i'd taken 20 minutes ago...
Stay out of heated forum discussions |
I dont consider it a "choice" to be gay. I didnt "choose" to be straight, its just the path that felt natural to me, same as it feels natural to be
gay to some people. |

I am perplexed and I am definitely not sheltered I teach inner city high school and have heard words that would truly make your hair curl - the other
day lovely little grade 8 girls who spend their weekends drunk, sniffing stuff or having sex or maybe all three were having a good old snigger about
waffles - never did work that one out either and really couldnt be bothered - it just depresses me too much after all they are 12 years old!! |

Welcome heydj81
I am straight but don't think I'm prejudiced about people's sexuality, race, religion, etc. But of course we all have our little things that get our
backs up. It's a shame that so many people harp on about freedom of speech without contemplating their responsibility for the consequences!
Words can hurt, people.

a few years ago at a lottos qld lunch I gave some of the girls a mould of, well, a part of a man's anatomy quite a good size too & our lovely nelke
wanted to use them as olive trays, wasted idea I personally think !!

ladyluck, good news for you ! you CAN have a chocolate one
or jelly anything really (makes a great iceblock for punches )
