My husband just received two identical monthly Ebay invoices from service@co-paypal.com.au . It looks like he has been charged twice and the email
includes a link to click on if you disagree with the charge. I believe this is a very sneaky scam because of the link, the double charge and it has
been sent at least a day or two early. Also, when checking his Paypal account, no charges have come through yet. |

with thier name and email address. I am sending this message from our headquarters here in Texas. I am here to deliver a message to you.
I'm here to tell you that you luckily won the Powerball/ Facebook Lottery for this month and the Powerball Lottery Foundation has agreed to

Went to this Roland fellow FB page this morning & am rather concerned that 2 on his friends list are lotto members & on my are on my friends
list, plus with 3 others we have several hundred friends in common.
Think I should also put it on my FB page & send to all friends?

sounds dodgy gidda. Maybe you could give Apple a call to ask them because they would be pretty interested to hear about a scam with their name on it I
suspect |

This has already been covered in other threads, sorry can't find them now. I ignored the ones I got (3) and they stopped coming with no effect to my
bill. |

Not sure if this is the right thread for this, but I am wondering about various sites that promise a chance at $1000/$2000 if you sign up to receive
offers or do surveys etc.
Being newish to comping I was unsure if these sort of sites are all legit?
Ones like:
Prizefinder
Freebie Fox
Online Competitions
Competitions Guide
Your Voice
Free Sample Offers
Aussie Rewards Online
I signed up the Prizefinder one yesterday and it then took me to a page saying Freebie Fox but when I clicked on the confirmation email I got, a blank
page came up... I don't want to end up getting viruses on my computer by going to these sort of pages.

Email this morning from Twitter, saying my account may have been compromised and they had changed my password for security reasons. A link to login
was there. Didn't press it, but logged into my actual Twitter account using my own, original password and it works.
So this email from 'Twitter' is a scam.
Do not click on any links. |

I received a similar message today, but it was not a scam, went to the Twitter site and could not login with my original password, had to change it.
Rumour has it that as the Apple site got hacked, Twitter is taking precautions to protect its users and therefore asks them to change their password
(in case they've been using the same one on the Apple site). |

Scammers seem to stepping their dishonesty a notch by producing realistic looking emails. I'm the 'Queen of Careful' when it comes to dodgy emails
& was concerned to see a stream of rather realistic looking scam comping emails in my work related junk mail folder last night. They looked like
they came from major companies, but of course they were fake. They all related to fake competitions and fake 'prizes'. The difference between these
scam emails and the usual run of the mill scam emails is that all of the email titles looked pretty convincing and included well known products and
companies that we often come across while comping. I immediately deleted the emails without reading them. If the emails had arrived in my comping
account I would've been hard pressed to know which email was fake and which was real by looking solely at the titles, but of course it would be easy
to work it out as soon as the message was opened. I saw the body of one email in my preview screen and it had the standard 'click on this link' scam.
I'm guessing the other scam emails were similar, but thought I'd mention it to lottos folk because the titles were quite convincing. |
