NATIONAL LOTTO'S MEET 2013 GLENELG, ADELAIDE 20TH OCTOBER (PHOTOS ADDED)
Looking forward to meeting all members who are coming
PLEASE NOTE ****It would be great if all members attending bought a little something along
for our lucky door prize
It could be anything from stamps, pens, current purchase product comp with receipt, movie tickets or just a little something that you may have won and
perhaps may like to contribute on the day
It would be preferable if the gift was unwrapped as it is easier for members to see and please take into account weight of the gift as people are
flying from all parts of Australia to attend this wonderful event. Depending on
how many members bring gifts will determine the amount of door prizes given on the day.
Diwin and I usually like to have at least 3 or 4 draws including a children's draw at the National meets
Confirmed for the luncheon highlighted in red
Just a little update
Details of payment for the luncheon will be updated by Andrew.
Again, many thanks to Andrew for updating the spreadsheet.
Looking forward to meeting all the wonderful members, family and friends attending this meet
Note: you will not be confirmed as an attendee until payment for the lunch has been
made!

Here are a couple of links for accommodation etc close to the casino if that is of any help to members
Will add as we go along

Quest Serviced Apartments
Thanks viv for the following suggestion
If people are looking for serviced apartments as opposed to hotels, there are 5 Quest Serviced apartments located in the Adelaide CBD.
http://www.questapartments.com.au/Locations.aspx
Quest on King William is close to Rundle Mall and therefore the casino, close to the Tramline and is currently showing those dates at $238 a night for
a 2 bedroom apartment. I cant comment on how good it is because Ive never stayed there.
Finding something along the Tramline is helpful in terms of getting around. If you stay on the outskirts of the CBD but are on the tram line, the tram
will take you straight to the casino. Quest on Sturt is further out but is also on the tramline so will take you directly into Rundle Mall and the
Casino.

Staying at Glenelg may be an option for those coming over for the lottos meet. It is a 40 minute tram ride from Glenelg to Adelaide. Here is a website
that might be useful.
http://glenelgsa.com.au/index
If you decide to stay at Glenelg, here is the link to the tram timetable from Glenelg to the Entertainment Centre and vice versa. If the lunch is held
at the Adelaide Casino you will need to get off at the Adelaide Railway Station stop. See the timetable for further information. Timetables can be
found on the RHS of the page.

*This does not reflect if there will be a price increase between now and October. I was unable to lock the current price in at the time of booking
Adults $31.95
Children 14yrs & Under $14.95
Under 5yrs Free
The venue has two lunch sittings and we have booked from 11.30am to 1.30pm. Watermark have confirmed that there will be plenty of room for us to
mingle and chat after lunch in their Lounge area and Beer Garden
Look forward to seeing you there
Ashlan has suggested Glenelg
As a Glenelg girl - I would suggest Glenelg as it would be great for those coming from intersate . Actually it's a 25 min tram ride to the city not 40
minutes (unless you are staying at the entertainment centre .
The Haven on Adelphi Tce at Glenelg could be a good option It has conference rooms if they are free and motel units.
It is an easy walk to Jetty Rd, the beach and the tram stop but becasue it is not right in the center of Glenelg it is a little bit cheaper.
There are lots of other different price accomodations within walking distance- everything from five star to back packers
Shops and 50 plus resturants are also within walking distance . There isthe Buffalo sailing ship themed resturant across the road in the river and
also an All You Can eat resturant next door
10 minutes from the airport so a cheap taxi ride - there is a bus J1 as well
It also has a resturant

Re the Adelaide Casino buffet. I haven't been to the casino for years, so cannot comment on the food. When the Adelaide Casino opened decades ago it
used to be quite a classy place, but I think it is a bit 'tired' now. I could be wrong. Other SA lottoers probably know more about the place than me.
I visited the casino (not to eat a meal) about 10 years ago and wasn't impressed, so I didn't return, but who knows, things might have improved and
the casino may be good now. Other SA lottoers may be able to shed more light on it than me. Not wanting to sound like a negative Nelly as the place
might be fine nowadays. I'm just commenting on my experience in the distant past which may not reflect the current situation at the casino. It might
be nice in there now.
Unfortunately I cannot offer suggestions on other places because I have so many damn food restrictions that I probably won't be able to eat anything
regardless of where we go lol! That doesn't worry me though. I'd just be happy to catch up with everyone if I can go and am not really concerned
about the food factor. My food restrictions put me in the 'too hard' category for MOST restaurants anyhow.
I found these reviews for the buffet on TripAdvisor.

Here is the direct link to the Adelaide Casino Buffet page on the Adelaide Casino website. Prices are included on the page.
