New to Lottos!
Hi Everyone,
Just wanted to say hi, as I am a brand new member of Lottos (joined today!) and only starting entering competitions last week. I have been reading the
forums and been really inspired by everyone's comments...this seems like such a great community to be part of!
As a complete newbie, I just wanted to ask some questions, as there is so much information out there and it can be a bit overwhelming!
I have mostly been entering WOL and facebook competitions (everyone that I can find). Do most people find their preference and stick to it? Or is it
better to give everything a go?
Also, with the unlimited entry competitions, how many times do people enter on average? I want to give myself the best chance of winning, but
obviously dont want to devote hours to just one competition? Just would love peoples thoughts..
Thanks all for reading my (long) post and look forward to chatting in the future!

Hi Katalina10, and welcome.
It depends what suits your budget and your routine as to what you enter - I enter product comps which I buy anyway, and WOL comps if I can come up
with what I think is a good answer.
For SMS and phone comps I enter once with each as I believe if you're meant to win, that's all it takes! (I have gone overboard in the past and spent
too much, but now I've learnt).
If they're unlimited comps, I just enter once, as I can't be bothered entering over and over. If they're unlimited WOL comps and I can think of more
than one answer I enter more than once.
I find I have the most success with buying products for comps. But again, I don't go overboard. I had just two entries in a Moccona coffee
competition and won a lovely trip to Fiji.
Good luck and have fun! |

Hi and welcome to our wonderful family I hope you enjoy it. I began almost a year ago at first I entered everything and Now I stick to purchase
required and WOL as that is where I had my most wins. I only ever enter once even with unlimited. However if I can afford it I will purchase several
items and enter it all. May some nice surprises come your way. By the way there is nothing like the thrill of winning. I not long ago won a $250 gift
card and there was only one per state to give away |

Welcome Katalina10
I hope you have many wonderful wins
I enter a bit of everything, from purchase to sms comps.
Try to start with comps that are closing within 10 days
and work from there.
It takes time, though persistance is the key.
You have to be in it to win itGoodluck

Welcome. I only enter everything once except purchase comps. I buy multiple products if I think I'll use them. Just enjoy it and you will soon settle
in to where you are comfortable.
Prize wins 2014: $37680
Prize wins 2011: $13000
previous years about $25000
The harder you work the luckier you get

I only enter comps that I want the prizes for or I know someone specifically that would love the prize. I enter a bit of every type of competition
(excluding mail-in creative and voting comps). My biggest wins have been from WOL. I stock up on purchase comps if I will use the product and/or if
the prize is amazing. SMS I usually enter 1-5 times but I have one nuts before... never won! Unlimited WOL I will enter anywhere from once to
several times. Some WOL come easier than others, if I can't think of an answer then I revisit it... even with a lame answer! |

Welcome. I very rarely enter product comps, mainly web ones, and 25WOL, and have lots of small wins e.g. DVDs, books, etc but have won a sun lounge
set, too |

I don't so much have preferences but rather comps that I avoid. I avoid voting comps and I avoid most creative comps because basically I know my
limits LOL. I only enter photo comps if it doesn't involve having me or a member of my family in the picture or require a photo of professional
standard so most of them I avoid too. I am a really basic cook so I don't enter cooking comps. If you are a decent cook there seems to be a heap of
good comps out there that I red cross. I only enter Purchase comps if I don't have to go out of my way and I was buying the item anyway. I will
sometimes use up the left over credit on my prepaid phone on sms comps if I remember before it expires. What I am left with are WOL's and straight
web/facebook comps. I also avoid rafflecopter comps if you have to like more than two pages. So to sum it all up dabble in purchase and sms but stick
to wol and web comps. I nearly always just do one entry unless it is something simple and I really want the prize then I might put in a few entries.
Unlimited wol I only ever do once. Over the years I have set up a comping routine which lets me enjoy comping but also factor in work/family/life.
Like they all say everything in moderation is the way. |

Thanks everyone for your lovely words of welcome and advice!
I had my very first win today it's was just a runner up prize (tickets to the
Toowoomba flower carnival) but it was on a WOL comp, so hopefully I am kinda on the right track. |

You'll win much more runner-up prizes than major prizes - I think for most of us it's just about the thrill of winning and getting something for free.
I've won Melbourne Symphony Orchestra tickets which is something I'd never have gone to myself but I had a great time, so it's an opportunity for new
experiences too. |
