How much did you win in 2015?
As 2015 draws to a close, it's that time of the year to do a round up of how we all went with our comping this year.
There is still time to win for 2015, so you don't have to do the poll yet. There may be a big win in the next couple of weeks for some of us. In the
meantime, here are the links to previous year's polls and statistics so we can compare from year to year.

Median - ............. $7,327 ....... $15,819 ........... $8,590 .......... $7,888 .......... $7,959
Median (where 50% of people won more & 50% have won less) - I just calculated where it would fall if the wins fell evenly across the range. So
it's not totally accurate but gives us a figure to work with.
Won less than $1,000
2010 - 10% (1 in 10 members)
2011 - 15% (1 in 7 members)
2013 - 14% (1 in 7 members)
2014 - 18% (1 in 6 members)
2015 - 16% (1 in 6 members)
Over $50,000 (our big winners)
2010 - 8.3% (1 in 12 members)
2011 - 5.9% (1 in 17 members)
2013 - 5.1% (1 in 19 members)
2014 - 7.5% (1 in 13 members)
2015 - 6.5% (1 in 15 members)
Just by these statistics alone, up to 2013, more people are winning less than $1,000 and less people are winning over $50,000.
For 2014, even more people are winning less than $1,000. However, the trend has turned at the upper end and we have more people winning over $50,000
(the same high as in 2010).
The rich are getting richer and the poor are getting poorer!
Lottos Grand Total winnings:
2010 - $6,075,719
2011 - $5,492,744
2012 - $4,246,730
2013 - $4,091,122
2014 - $3,682,107
2015 - $2,832,805 |

My tally is no secret, I display it in my profile. So far I'm sitting on over $16,000. I was about to click the $10,001 to $20,000 category then
realised there are a few big comps about to be drawn, and you never know, I just might win a $4,000 prize and move into the next category.
I think once you click a category, you can't change it. |

I will vote when the month is up, but, i started comping 6 months ago and have won over $10,000 (my signature is a few prizes behind at the moment!)
SO FAR...
Competitions have always interested me, but being in my late teens, I've only recently become eligible to enter most competitions, so glad i found
lottos and hopefully i can continue comping for many more decades to come! |

Sorry to hear that Ruth. I wish you better luck next year.
You might want to reconsider not using Facebook as more and more comps are run on facebook these days. And almost all advent comps are run on
facebook.

Last year I was saying it was my worst year since 1994 until the final days when I won $500 and it became my second worst year. This year is
definitely my worst...I'll have to pick up about $8000 in the next two weeks to change that title! Still, while there's life there's hope....not
answering the poll until 1 January! |

I notice the Lottos total for the year has been steadily decreasing. $2.57
million so far this year which is a fair way off previous years. Just over $6 million in 2010, down to $3.6 million last year, and on track for even
less in 2015, which seems to support a lot of people's comments about lower prize winnings. |

I think it's a combination of lower winnings plus lower reporting by members of their winnings.

I think this is my worst year ever, a combination of working and studying, not enough comps I want to enter, and not enough $$ to enter many purchase
comps, I haven't even kept a diary this year, I'm gunna be more determined next year.
I'll do a tally next week after I've won the CCs trip to LA haha |

Under $200 Worst year ever! I was hoping to get a surprise win at the end of
the year to up my total, but then Mum had her fall in August and that limited my entries.
Still woeful considering how much I entered before that.
2005 total:$1,130-
2006 $5,500 app.
2007 $2,000 approx.
2008 $1200
2009 $930
2010 $4,200
2011 $1,473
2012 $675
2013 $462
2014 $2,150
2015 $120
2016 $1150
2017 $210
2018 $210 at least I'm consistent!
2019 $115 still waiting for the big one!
2020 $550
2021 $3,000
All I want ... is a chance to prove that money can't make me happy! And 2022 is the year to do it!

The actual number of my wins was less than half for all previous years and I spent about the same time entering.
My goal each year is to win over $10,000 in prizes and my total this year is just over $8,000 with one decent win of a cruise, so I'm not complaining
as I'm happy to have one good win.
My "luckiest" wins are purchase comps and they seem to be way down this year, especially Christmas comps. |

I have had more time to enter this year, so entered heaps more, and won a whole lot LESS. Sitting on about $5300 for 2015. That's not even enough for
1 of fissy66's holidays . Happy with my little wins. Everything has been handy and
put to good use. It's more than I would have had in stuff and experiences, if I hadn't entered. Have to stay positive, but it has been a frustrating
and fruitless process for most of this year |

Wow, 100 people have responded already. I'm hoping we get about 300 by the time the year is finished. But I'll keep the tally going until the end of
January to give people lots of time to add up their prizes.
Some interesting statistics already. I see another winner in the $100k - $200k category and a total of 10 big winners (over $50k). That's 10% and so
far the best yet in the years I've been collecting the stats. That means (so far) 1 in 10 of us has won over $50k!
And although many of us have had a bad year this year, only 13% (so far) have won less than $1,000 (the 2nd best year since doing the stats). |
