Poll - How much did you win in 2018?
It's that time of the year, 2018 is almost over and it's time to start adding up our wins for 2018.
Feel free to stay anonymous and just click on the amount you've won, or you can add a message if you
wish.
IMPORTANT - There's still plenty of time left to win this year (especially with so many Advent comps running) so
there is no need to do the poll yet.
Hopefully there'll be a big win in the next few weeks for some of us.
Certainly, if you feel you won't win enough to make it into the next bracket, then by all means click your total. Otherwise, wait until closer to the
end of the year, or even the beginning of next year.
And don't forget to add your wins (as you go or the total) to the Lottos Wins thread, so your total can be included
in the Lottos Grand Total for the year.
You don't have to specify exactly which comp/s you've won, just general prizes and dollar amounts is fine.
There's a new thread each day and weekend. Here's the link for 25th-30th Dec Winners:

Good Luck Everyone!

$4,240
Median (where 50% of people won more & 50% have won less) - I just calculated where it would fall if the wins fell evenly across the range. So
it's not totally accurate but gives us a figure to work with.
Won less than $1,000
2010 - 10% (1 in 10 members)
2011 - 15% (1 in 7 members)
2013 - 14% (1 in 7 members)
2014 - 16% (1 in 6 members)
2015 - 16% (1 in 6 members)
2016 - 21% (1 in 5 members)
2017 - 23% (1 in 4 members)
2018 - 30% (1 in 3.3 members)
Over $50,000 (our big winners)
2010 - 8.3% (1 in 12 members)
2011 - 5.9% (1 in 17 members)
2013 - 5.5% (1 in 18 members)
2014 - 7.7% (1 in 13 members)
2015 - 6.5% (1 in 15 members)
2016 - 2.7% (1 in 37 members)
2017 - 3.8% (1 in 26 members)
2018 - 2.9% (1 in 34 members)
Just by these statistics alone, up to 2013, more people are winning less than $1,000 and less people are winning over $50,000.
For 2014, even more people are winning less than $1,000. However, the trend has turned at the upper end and we have more people winning over $50,000
(the same high as in 2010).
The rich are getting richer and the poor are getting poorer!
Lottos Grand Total winnings:
2010 - $6,075,719
2011 - $5,492,744
2012 - $4,246,730
2013 - $4,091,122
2014 - $3,682,107
2015 - $2,832,805
2016 - $1,783,257
2017 - $2,290,426
2018 - $1,401,626

Our Median winnings have been dropping over the years. Last year it was just $5,000. I'm hoping we can better that this year. |

We're off to a flying start, with 29 responses already, and a median of $6,429.
Still 3 weeks to go in December, and don't forget some prize wins won't come in until January. |

I'm currently sitting at $21,338 for the year, but hopeful of a few more wins, so won't vote just yet. It's interesting to look at the figures over
the years! |

Well, that's depressing I have just tallied my wins for this year and it is my
worst year ever in 20 years of keeping records! This is the first year in 20 years that my total wins have been under $1,000.
Maybe I entered less, which is probably correct, as I only enter for things I want and as I get older I seem to want less.
Fingers crossed for a few wins before the end of the year to get above the $1,000 threshold. xx |

Hoping to do better. Only been back comping for 3 months and haven't cracked $1,000 yet. Pro rata, this would be my worst year yet, but next year is
another year, onwards and upwards! |

Woo Hoo! Congrats to our first big winner of over $100,000.
Last year we didn't have anyone over that figure.

Do you think people don't post their wins as much? Or we have more "competition" in that a lot more people enter now, so less Lottoers winning? I
remember the old days when the winners circle would have heaps of wins each day. |

I have the same thoughts. I think it's a combination of both.I have spoken to many people and understand why they don't want to put their wins.I
respect that.
Also I think with facebook and so many other changes over the years, it's another reason our figures are lower.Having said that, I think, at the end
of the year, even if anonymous, it would be nice to place figures, so our stats will be clearer.I loved seeing the winners circles, full with so many
wins.This is only my opinion

I think people are afraid to post their wins these days, there is a lot of sour grapes. It's a shame, it used to be so uplifting so see 20 and 30 wins
in the winners circle daily and everyone was genuinely happy for the winners. Times have changed sadly. |

Despite doing the stats, I'm one who doesn't post in the winner's circle regularly. Before the end of the year, I'll post my annual tally in the
Winners topic so that I can be included in the Lottos Grand total, but I understand many people won't post there either as it's not anonymous. I have
been hassled in the past and was hassled by one person this year when I posted a prize win, which wasn't even worth a huge amount of money.
This poll, however, is anonymous.
Note - I should add, this explains why our grand total is decreasing, but it shouldn't affect our Median wins so much. I think we just have more
competition these days (ie. more people entering, prizes being shared around more), and more comps with smaller prizes. (Hubby will go crazy if I win
another packet of balloons!) And look at all the advent comps at the moment. Lots of comps, but mostly small prizes. |

Around $2000, which I guess is ok considering I only enter on uni breaks and during quiet periods like mid semester. Of course, that also means I
haven't been lucky enough to win a big prize |

Well let's all "just do it" as my 2 y/o grandson says. Bullying is not acceptable. Sour grapes is just bullying and jealousy. I have posted most of my
wins and never had a bad experience. I passed $40 000 a couple of years ago. Now I enter less and I am less in touch I think but I am almost to $10000
which is OK for a hobby. I love reading the winner posts and how excited they are. It makes me feel happy for them.
Prize wins 2014: $37680
Prize wins 2011: $13000
previous years about $25000
The harder you work the luckier you get

I ABSOLUTELY LOVE reading the Winners Circles every day- that inspires me and makes me feel happy- even if I haven't won! I love Lottos!
I've been a member for years now, and this year I totally let the ball drop so my results reflect the level of effort I put in. Having said that- I'm
hoping for a last minute win in December to see us through the school holidays.
Massive supporter of sharing wins here. You really make my day when you post it. |

Uh-oh! Our mean has dropped below $5,000. I hope some of our bigger winners are holding off for closer to the end of month.
I haven't voted yet either. I'm still about $1,000 short of $10k and I'm living in hope of a good win before the end of year to get me over the line.

The Winners Circle inspires me ... I've never experienced bullying and now I'm
on the downhill slope to 70 ... I wouldn't tollerate it or let it stop me posting my wins, bullying isn't ever acceptable (end of story) ... I'm
holding off hoping for one final big win to lift my score lol !!! but so far it's just under $14,000 and I'm very happy with that |
