I'm doing university assignments. I never thought I would be thankful for them but they are keeping me busy. My university units have gone entirely
online for the foreseeable so I do not have to attend classes face to face. As I am doing a course which requires face to face interaction in order
to properly learn it and understand the subject matter it is a real pain, to be honest. But I am determined to keep motivated because I want to do
well and not wind up as a "middle aged underachiever," as I like to call it.
I'm staying off social media because I'm utterly sick of the misinformed University of Google educated doctors and lawyers on Facebook, Twitter and
Instagram giving their opinions. I'm avoiding the news as much as I can for the same reason. I also don't want to see people unnecessarily attending
public places like restaurants or casinos, or whining about their holidays or being cancelled when this insidious virus is literally killing people
and people are losing their livelihoods.
I am very grateful that I live a one minute walk away from a lovely park and am doing late night walks with my dog in order to keep us both healthy in
body and mind. We have the park to ourselves.
I rarely eat out, and never frequent pubs or clubs or casinos so that part of my life has not changed one bit. |

Gutted that the gym is closed. Grateful that I got a new bike for Christmas. It will get even more workouts now. Woke with a sore throat today, hard
to swallow. Of course my mind went into hyper alert mode. Staying home to quarantine for a while. Pain subsiding, just itchy now. I feel great
otherwise. Strange. I thought I had been really vigilant with an arsenal of wipes and sanitisers on hand to treat everything I came into contact with
recently. Obviously not enough for this pesky little problem to get through the wall of protection I built. Think I am overall pretty fit and healthy
to fight off what ever this thinks it is. How dare it invade my body without permission! On yer bike! |

I need to get outside. My eyes are sore from the AC but it has been so muggy and we tend to walk early mornings or late evenings to avoid people.

Kids gym has closed but they are offering online workout sessions instead for $15 a week. Great idea to keep their little business running.
I get closing gyms and restaurants but why on earth are nail bars and beauticians and hairdressers still open?

And shopping centres. Here in VIC, the schools are out as of tomorrow. Where do they think all the teens will be headed? |

My son is a hospital Pharmacist and Med student. He was at our big shopping centre this morning, horrified that the number of “old” people at the
shops. Maybe we need to do a UK and make everyone over 70 stay home. I can’t convince my mum and my sister who has health issues to take this
seriously, they thought I was being jet lagged and emotional when I told them yesterday to do their shopping then go home and stay there!

Remember a few years ago there were slow cooker comps everywhere? I won seven slow cookers. I gave them all aways as I had one I liked.

| I know the feeling, our friends are offering to do our shopping, because we've closed the door & gone
into HIBERNATION (it sounds so much better than ISOLATION) they're all at more risk than we are, it's just crazy, I can't understand, why people are
not scared stiff & staying home |

SWAP & SELL ... they received over 300 likes & comments on my post (& not one negative) one very grateful owner, rang me the next day to
say thanks ... he didn't need to, new our fridge said it all

If anyone gets a sore throat try gargling with a glass of warm water & dissolved salt, this can/will/may kill off any germs &/or bugs.
We were going to get our teeth cleaned tomorrow, but the Dentists rang today to say they can't do those now & maybe able to re-schedule sometime
after three months, or longer!! Ok, it's not exactly what you "enjoy" doing, but apparently they can only do the more serious things now.
Avoiding supermarkets as long as we can eat our way through what is here first. Our Butcher has been down to less than 1/2 stock even early in the
morning, so not sure whoever is buying up what. All very well loading up freezers, but coming up to winter & storms the electricity might go
down.
Pity those in-coming from overseas people on planes & ships weren't stopped far earlier, (should have put everyone into quarantine weeks ago.) So
mad letting boat loads off to go all over the place & interstate without any proper checks, pretty slack when previous boats had infected people,
what a crazy lack of common sense.

Sorry but no; warm water and salt does not kill germs whatsoever. It does however help relieve symptoms. |

Anyone help? My dentist referred me to an endodentist. He took and Xray of the tooth that had root canal about 20 years ago but need it redone. No
infection but a pocket of air or something.
The quote is $3000 as it has 4 roots. I already paid $300 for the initial visit. Apparently it is best to go to someone who operate under a microscope
hence the referral.
Question. I know they can charge what hey like but is this quote excessive or is it to be expected.
No, I can't have the tooth removed as it is the last double on that side.
Thanks

Ouch gr82do! Not sure what is worse. The tooth or the quote! Can you just go to dental hospital?
Meantime, everyone I have spoken to, and everyone they know seem to be OK for supplies now. So how come toilet paper and the like are STILL getting
wiped out? We need to implement Marshall Law if goods are being sent overseas, to prevent this, and profiteering too.

Oops, thanks for pointing that out snowpea, me thought it might kill off the germs, sorry everyone, but at least it may help a sore throat somewhat.
Re the dental costs gr8sdo, if it makes you feel any better someone told me to get one tooth put on a jaw implant would cost around $8,000
I need to be replace one fake front tooth on a Maryland Bridge it will cost me around $1,800. Can you try any other dentists for quotes? It's such a
pity that our teeth & eyes were not included in our medical scheme, (it was stopped by the then opposition.)

Yep WW and AA here for me me thinks. And not an unread book to be had..... I admittedly could download some but apart from liking the feel of a real
book I find that as soon as I pick up my phone I'm either binge reading CV stuff or trying to numb my brain by binge watching Netflix. |

Here's something I have noticed. There are quite a few cooking groups on social media like COLES cooking club and Maggie Beer appreciation group.
People are certainly baking but also learning skills there grandma always knew, like how to use plain flour +baking soda when they can't find Self
Raising flour, how to cook from scratch, simple foods from scratch that kids like. So some good coming from this isolation.
My grandkids are making a video every third day and our 10 year old is editing them to send to us. He has come on in leaps and bounds and loves doing
it.
