By entering for the Barbie and Hot Wheels Week at Target, Fashion Parade, you are accepting the terms and conditions as stated in this document
Applications for the Fashion Parade will only be accepted online.
TERMS AND CONDITIONS
Information on how to apply and prizes, form part of these Terms and Conditions.
The Promoter is Mattel Australia Pty Ltd, 658 Church Street, Richmond, VIC 3121.
Style Counsel, as the PR agency of Mattel and Target, is managing the running of Barbie and Hot Wheels Week at Target, Fashion Parade event and the
coordination of the casting and show.
Application is open to all girls and boys who are residents of Australia and who are aged between 5 – 7 years as at the application date. Application
is limited to one application per person.
Employees and their immediate families of the Promoter and its agencies associated with this promotion are ineligible.
Children selected in the casting must be available in Castle Hill, NSW for the following date:
(b) Parade rehearsal, 1.30pm, 16 May 2009
(c) Fashion Parade 2.30pm, 16 May, 2009
Chance plays no part in the casting. Each applicant will be individually judged based on the various criteria as determined by the Promoter in its
absolute discretion, including but not limited to the applicant's confidence and enthusiasm.
The casting will be carried out by the promoter’s PR agency, Style Counsel. The promoter reserves the right to change or substitute participants in
the casting panel at any time without prior notice. From the online registrations 15 children will be selected.
The Promoter and judges reserve the right, in their absolute discretion, to disregard any applications that they consider to be inappropriate. Judges'
decision is final and no correspondence will be entered into.
The Promoter’s PR agency Style Counsel, will notify only the applicants who have been successful, by phone on Monday 11 May, 2009.
All costs, including, but not limited to, transport, spending money, meals, taxes, insurance and all other ancillary costs associated with attending
and taking part in the Fashion Parade, fittings, parade rehearsals and the parade, shall be the sole responsibility of each parent or guardian.
It is a condition of registering that applicants must provide original photo identification, to the satisfaction of the Promoter, as proof of identity
and residency.
It is a condition of registering that all selected children’s parent or legal guardian sign a Talent/ Release Agreement, in a form determined by the
Promoter in its absolute discretion, consenting to the Promoter's use of the child’s name, voice and image in any media worldwide for any marketing,
advertising and/or publicity purposes for an unlimited period, without any further reference by the parent or legal guardian, without any royalties or
payments, and further warranting that there is no restriction or obligation which would prevent such use by the Promoter.
Only children who participate in the children’s parade will be entitled to:
(a) Barbie show bag prize for girls
(b) Hot Wheels show bag prize for boys.
Parents or guardians of children participating in the children’s parade will be required to complete a employment form supplied by Style Counsel and
returned to Style Counsel by Monday 11 May, 2009
The Promoter reserves the right to refuse to allow the winner to take part in any or all aspects of the prize, if the Promoter determines, in its
absolute discretion, that the winner is not in the mental or physical condition necessary to be able to participate.
Prizes/entitlements or any unused portion of a prize/entitlement is not transferable or exchangeable and cannot be taken as cash. In the event that a
prize(s)/entitlement(s) is/are not available, the Promoter reserves the right to substitute a prize(s)/entitlement(s) in its absolute discretion to
the same and equal recommended retail value and/or specification.
The Promoter shall not be liable for any loss or damage whatsoever which is suffered (including but not limited to indirect or consequential loss) or
for personal injury which is suffered or sustained, as a result of participating in this promotion or taking any prize, except for any liability which
cannot be excluded by law.
In the event of war, act of god, terrorism, state of emergency or disaster the Promoter reserves the right to cancel, terminate, modify or suspend the
promotion.
If for any reason this event is not capable of running as planned (including but not limited to) infection by computer virus, bugs, tampering,
unauthorised intervention, fraud, technical failures or any other causes beyond the control of the Promoter which corrupts or affect the
administration security, fairness, integrity or proper conduct of this contest, the Promoter reserves the right in its sole discretion to disqualify
any individual who tampers with the application process, and to cancel, terminate, modify or suspend the event.
The Promoter is not responsible for any problems or technical malfunction of any telephone network or lines, computer online systems, servers, or
providers, computer equipment, software, technical problems or traffic congestion on the Internet or at any web site, or any combination thereof,
(including but not limited to) any injury or damage to participants or any other person's computer related to or resulting from participation in or
down-loading any materials in this competition.
The Promoter reserves the right to request winners to provide proof of identity and proof of residency at any time. Identification considered suitable
for verification is at the discretion of the Promoter. The Promoter reserves the right to conduct security verification checks at its absolute
discretion.
The Promoter accepts no responsibility for any tax implications that may arise from the prize winnings. Independent financial advice should be sought.
If at any stage during the lead up to and during the Parade, it is deemed that the applicant is not suitable to perform the nominated duties, the
agreement between the winner and the Promoter will be forfeited.
The Promoter reserves the right without limitation, to cancel the agreement at any time due to inappropriate behaviour, or any other activity deemed
