Avatar & Signature Information

Avatar & Signature Information

Basic Information

All images must be suitable for a family website.

An Avatar image must not have dimensions larger than 150x150 pixels.

Easiest and fastest way to have an avatar:
- Goto http://en.gravatar.com/site/signup to obtain a free account and upload the image there you want (off your hard drive, off the internet etc).
- Ensure your email address at gravatar and at lottos are the same.

That's it! Your avatar should now show on all full topic/threads (unless you have posted an avatar on your lottos member profile, in which case that will be shown).

Other info -

While a Signature image may be larger, please keep them reasonable :)

All images must be hosted online.
Linking to images on your computer will not work.

Direct Linking To An Image

This is simply linking to an image directly on another persons website. Sometimes it is encouraged by artists as a form of advertising, other times it is frowned upon as bandwidth theft.

Please follow the original artists wishes in how to use their property for your avatar and be respectful of all copyrights.

Image Hosting

Pictures found online and used as avatars can sometimes disappear without a moments notice. While net outages cannot be avoided all together, hosting images on a reliable site takes a lot of the guessing out of what a random site may do with the image in the future.

If you'd like to avoid the dreaded little white box with a red cross, or worse in some cases, appearing beneath your name, please feel free to contact one of the following people, who are happy to host your avatar pictures on their webspace:

rembrat

If you are happy to host images for others, please u2u and I'll add your details here :) ~ rembrat

How To Display An Avatar Image

EXAMPLE INSTRUCTIONS:
Please replace the included url in the below example for that of your selected image!!!

AVATAR:

To use an image as your avatar, click on "Control Panel/Option" in the top right-hand corner of the page. Now click "Edit Profile", which is the second choice in from the left-hand side in the top-ish part of the page. In the middle area of the screen you have "Edit Profile - Optional". The ninth option down is "Avatar URL". Make sure the box beside that is completely empty. Now enter the following data only:

http://www.lottos.com.au/graphics/logo.GIF

Now select "Edit Profile" at the bottom of the options area. You should now have your avatar displaying as you wish :D

How To Display A Signature Image

EXAMPLE INSTRUCTIONS:
Please replace the included url in the below example for that of your selected image!!!

SIGNATURE:

To display an image in your signature, click on "Control Panel/Option" in the top right-hand corner of the page. Now click "Edit Profile", which is the second choice in from the left-hand side in the top-ish part of the page. In the middle area of the screen you have "Edit Profile - Optional". The last option is "Signature: HTML is Off BB Code is On". Make sure the box beside that is completely empty. Now enter the following data only:

[zimg]http://www.lottos.com.au/graphics/logo.GIF[/img]

Remove the z in the first img tag as I only include that so that the data displays, not the image.

Now select "Edit Profile" at the bottom of the options area. You should now have your picture displaying as you wish :D

Further Display Information

TICKERS:

If you would like your Ticker Central tickers to display the ticker image in your signature area, you will need to include the phpbb, vBulletin and other BB Code Boards (the second code option) or the BBboy (the fifth code option).

MULTIPLE IMAGES

To have multiple images in your signature, just list each new image url surrounded by the [img] tag at the start and the [/img] tag at the end.

If you do them one after the other without spaces they will sit side-by-side, if you do it with spaces between each other they will also sit side-by-side, but if you do it with a press of the return key after each one they will sit on top of each other.

Hi,

What do I do?

Alright,

just tried again with Photobucket. No success there either - someone please help?

I have made a pic which is 150 pixels across so size should not be an issue.
