Postage Paid Envelopes
Hi there,
I am a newbie comp enterer, and I was just wondering what the policy was on entering magazine comps (Such as Take 5, thats life etc) with a postage
paid stamp with company logo on it?
Mind you, I do work for a large company, and envelopes are never at a shortage.
I generally put "competition entry only", and still put the sender details on the back, but I have used that 2 weeks in a row because let's face
it...we don't have to pay for stamps.
So you think these entries would still be considered, or voided because I didn't use an actual stamp??? |

I am not sure that your entry would be alright doomy1.
I am sure other members may be able to confirm this either way
But don't you think you are perhaps abusing your employer by using their postage to enter a comp?
I would certainly never use my place of employment to enter comps or use their stationery or postage!
But thats just me and I think good karma comes to those who enter within the spirit of comping at their own cost not their place of employment.

Thanks for all the wonderful tips - they really help us newbies. PolarBird is awesome - what a depth of knowledge to share. Pretty sure she is a chick
though (with Bird in the name and a new baby last year) so don't know why people are referring to her as a "he". Although I could be wrong - lol! |

Thankyou for all the tips...they have definitely shed some light on things for me...I have only just joined 2nite and Im still a little overwhelmed.
Im sure Ill have a thousand questions still, but judging from some of the posts I have read, there are many many people with loads of experience out
there who I know will be able to help me. Im just a little unsure about the whole 'posting your wins' things or the winners circle and where to go
etc. I definitely do not want to do the wrong thing. Thankyou so much again, and wishing you all the very very best of luck |

Newbie
Thanks everyone for the tips for new compers. My daughter got me involved in this but I'm a bit slower at all this computer stuff. It helps having
others give us some great ideas.

wow that's interesting to know, hadn't thought of it as fraud. I have saved a few stamps in the past and used them....and then I feel guilty and
think will karma get me and I won't win because I haven't actually paid for the stamp.

There's no hard and fast rule.
I have recently come back to OZ after living in the UK for a year. In the UK they are obsessed with comps and have the most incredible prizes.
So I first started comping in the UK [I didn't comp in Australia]. At first after arriving in the UK I comped casually entering 1 a week which is VERY
casual by lottos.com.au standards. Within a month I'd won tickets worth $1000 to a sold out Arsenal soccer match. Even more amazing the match was on
my birthday! It was an online newspaper comp in the UK Guardian newspaper. Great birthday present!!
About 6 months into my time in the UK I got into SERIOUS comping i.e. over 4 hours a week. 4 weeks after going serious I won a $10,000 luxury safari
to Africa - it was a web comp for the UK Evening Standard newspaper. They notified me by email which is unusual - you would expect to be called for
that level of prize? Well I couldn't believe it when I saw it in my inbox - the heading was "Safari winner".
The safari was the best time I have ever had in my life. That's one of the beauties of comp prizes - you can win a trip to a place that you maybe
wouldn't spend your OWN money going. After that I came back downunder and have had only 2 minor wins one of which was a $1,200 Blackberry. Note that I
never enter small comps - minimum thing I would enter would be a Plasma TV comp or win $1000 cash. There is only so much time you can spend comping
and I prefer to spend it trying for the big prizes.
When I was in the UK I used to use a UK equivalent of this site to find all the comps. I wanted to post my comping experience to show that you can win
BIG early on in your comping "career" and then go through a really dry patch.
When I was looking at the thread entitled "Post your 10 biggest wins" I nearly fell off my chair when I read about all of Fisy66's prizes. S/he can
certainly teach me a thing or two. I've posted them below. fisy66 is an inspiration for all of us:

Here are a smattering of my bigger wins!!
1. $40,000 Home Improvement trip to USA and cash ($20,000)
2. $30,000 Trip to Vienna...business class...staying at the Sacher.
3. $24,000 Trip to Moscow....business class.....luxury all the way with a private guide.
4. $17,898 Trip to Scotland (This year)
5. $16,580 Tour through Mexico with spending money.
6. $13990 Barina car
7. $12,200 Paris and staying at the King George V (this year)
8. $12,000 Trip to Switzerland (Lindt .....yummy!)

and I have mention the wonderful trip to New York (Life on Mars) that has turned into a family Disneyland/New York trip-$7,700........(this year) |

Hi, as a newbie I'm not sure if the 'unlimited entry' comps mean that I can enter the same WOL over and over or if I should change my entry. What do
you think experienced compers?? |

Hi, I wondered if anyone can tell me how I report to this site when i have won something. recently I won a tv from the kraft comp and $1000 from the
greens cake mix one. Only small compared to some people's wins, but really huge for me!
I clicked that I had won, in the actual forum page about them, but I wondered how to get on that list that appears on the home page.
Not important I know, but winning even smaller things is such a thrill and so new to me I'd just like to have seen my wins up there lol! |

I just read Doomy1's post at the top of this page.
An interesting thing I learnt when doing a CODE OF CONDUCT COURSE as a manager in a government department of health is that if you win something in
work time or using work email address etc you have to declare it to the Director of the Agency and it is up to his or her discretion as to whether you
can keep the prize or not!!!
If you do not declare the win ande get caught it is a breach of the State Service Code of Conduct!!
Remember this if you are the lucky millionth shopper while out buying morning tea in work time for a work function and they want to put your photo in
the paper !! |

This was the one and only time this member posted or was indeed on this site...so do companies etc "fish" to see whether we give ethical answers on
here or not????  Odd thing to ask.
I also find it interesting when people come on lottos and ask questions and never answer or say thanks either. I remember one of our dear members
writing a great 25WOL answer for some-one in Singapore and she never even thanked her.
Maybe she didn't win!!!

Wow Globalchick I'm impressed
I only joined a few months ago ,won about $8000 worth so far .
I think the easiest to win are the comp that are harder to enter
I only won so far (exept for movie tickets) comps where you have to buy things.
And if you have to write a 25wol you have more chances because people just don't bother.I won the comp from BigW this way you had to buy $20 worth of
baby products ,write a 25Wol and win $50.It wasn't much but I would spend the money anyway on these maybe later |

Hi just joined the site, so far so good! My question is, when you fill out the competition form on the websites do you tick all the boxes such as
'would you like to receive emails from....?' Are you more likely to win if you tick all the boxes as I have left them blank. |

Hi Everyone
I am new to Lottos website, I am hoping to win more prizes, prior to joining I had won a $100 Yakka voucher, movie passes and a cupcake cookbook worth
$25, all these involved little time and effort, I won using the local paper, sms and on-line.
I work full-time so am curious to know how much time I should spend each week on this site to increase my chances.

Hi tweetheart, i find it easier if possible, i select all web comps less entered not interested no purchase required from the side menu, spend a good
few hours entering all of them, mark daily comps with the yellow symbol, return later, then i spend about 30 mins a day entering new comps and daily
comps......thats all ok till i get behind and then have a few hours catching up
phew....hope that made sense might have to read it a few times!!!

Hi all. I'm in my first few months as a lottos ember and would like to say thanks for all the advice and ideas others post. My family has entered
things very randomly over the years but we have a good tally of prizes, over time. (Well over 20g)
One thing I do find discouraging and disappointing is the dishonestly of some people who suggest hints such as using the same receipt more times than
allowed, using your employer to pay for your entries, lying etc. But generally I find this site very supportive of each other and I wish you all very
good luck.
