This is just the best thread. We compers certainly are a strange breed.

Your addicted to comping when you notice the parcel guy has delivered a parcel next door and convinced it was delivered to the wrong adress you try to sneak a look at address label just to make sure.

OMG!! I've just re=read this again

A huge thank-you for the best laugh in ages, and all of that is just so true.

Can we please keep this as a lottos favorite for all those who need cheering up as this is just simply the best.

Out shopping today with by 5 year old daughter and she wanted some tin peaches, I bought her the small weight watches ones for 90c each so I could enter the FIJI comp.

When I am borrowing Nelke's avatar so I can hopefully win a big prize soon.

Your husbands birthday present consisted of three items with no barcodes and he is threatening to write "WIN' on his bodily parts because he believes this is the only thing that you give any attention to (and he is probably right...)

WP - some great comps are found in 'junk' mail.
I hate the word 'junk', I call it fan mail.

How true how true!!!

When you are truly depressed that you had to waste good money on toilet paper (or laundry detergent, or shampoo) that hasn't got a competition (dang, you KNEW you could have bought more when they were running that last comp!

Your 2 year old can spot an entry form in supermarkets before you can.

Your 2 year old will not say 'hello Pa' or 'hello Nan' without lots of prompting but happily says 'hello postie' when he comes to drop a parcel off!

Your 2 year old knows not to touch the 'sorry we missed you' card from the courier company you have left sticking out from under the doormat waiting for their return delivery.

Oh airhairlair that reminds me.........

Our front gate scrapes when opened - quite loudly, so you can hear if the parcel postie is coming to the door.
My little man (just 20 months old) immediately says "Keys, Keys" when he hears the gate as he knows we need them for the front door.
Also when the postie rides past he says "Bike" so I know when to check the mailbox.

LOL, this is what I did today.
I bought a product for the comp which was cheese, and you needed the label, I was going to peel it off then send it in.
But its one of those ones you coudlnt peel off, but mostly need to finish the product then snip it off.

So I went back into to supermarket and bought a pair of scissors and sticky tape just so I could cut it out and send it..and had to wrap the remains of the cheese in a bag..it was fun.. lol

When you have to carry a pair of Scissors in your handbag every time you go shopping, to cut off any Stubborn Entry Forms from the shelf! :)

I love reading this thread LOL

I should start carrying scissors in my bag too....I was pulling at some stubborn entry forms so hard yesterday that I broke the cable tie holding them :o :o

When you take the kids for a walk to the postbox on the pretense of having exercise, and all you are looking for are Cadbury wrappers and coke bottles :P

... when somone asks what you want for your birthday, you answer "Cadbury chocolate bars.. but make sure they've got the promotional wrappers!!"

Sad.

When your 3 1/2 yr old knows how to spell out her last name (Overhearing me constantly ringing comps)!!!

When you buy tins of cat food BUT you don't have a cat!!

When you yell at your husband for not coming up with a 25wol within that minute!!

OMG this was just the best laugh I have had in ages...........a bit scary though, because I can relate to so much of what you are all saying. Here are some things I have found since starting comping seriuosly in the last two months...
1. I hate weekends now because of no post/emails/phone calls...
2. My daughters do the shopping for me because I am at work and I come home to a dining room table full of products that have comps and entry forms attached.
3. Monday is now the best day of the week!
4. I also dream of 25 WOL or answers and then get cranky when I can't remember them when I wake up
5. Even though I haven't won much, and every day I say.....that's it! not going to do this anymore, first thing I do is get on the computer to see what new comps have been posted
6. Daughter brings home cadbury wrappers from school
7. Start to talk to my workmates in rhyme
8. Ask my kids a question and demand an answer in 25 WOL
9. Tell the cats over and over again that the catfood I have bought them is REALLY good for them ( 8 x tins each and I have 3 cats)
10. have to admit I have considered the 500 packs of envelopes......and ok.......will admit it.......bought a pack today!
11. anyone need some spare soy milk? have 3 cartons here that we aren't going to use
12. Start to wonder just how many multiple entries are enough? 30? 50? 100? 300?
13. Computer mouse is on speed dial.
14. Wondering if there is a way to get mail ins sent through work?

Thanks for the great laugh all.........esp whoever posted the one about WIN on her hubby's private parts.......that cracked me up for ages.......

This is all so funny but true , goodness we are even having lunch this month at The Hogs Breath Cafe so we can enter a comp , my xmas list is so easy for the kids this year , stamps & envelopes , they can't say no can't afford it .I too have bought cat food & kitty litter but don't have a cat , my man's cat loves me though :D. When I go shopping my son says try to buy something that doesn't have a comp with it . When I get home it takes a couple of hours to do all the comp stuff before things get put away in case I forget (tip jut cut out barcode & sticky tape the label back on )
My son doesn't throw any empty packs / cans out just cleans them & leaves them to 1 side of the sink for me to check . Love a dull day as it means I can stay indoors on the puter entering comps .But it doesn't seem to matter how much time I spend on it there are still comps I never get too .
