Woolworths Coolect comp saga

Hubby's email addy copped a virus and he's lost all the emails, he's just got another addy, but apparently the promotion co running this comp sent him a 'youre a winner' email to the corrupted address which of course he didn't get. Hubby is not known for his patience!!

The contact guy rang him on his mobile (just at the wrong time, he should have switched to silent he was doing something fiddly in his she), hubby's already mad with what he's trying to do, So this fellow (Sam I think) introduced hinself and said did you receive the email. No, hubbys says myemail address is corrupted. Congrats said poor Sam, you've been drawn a winner in the Woolies Coolect comp.

Thanks says Hubby and what did I win. I can tell you that says Sam until you fax or email me the receipts for verification. This did not please Hubby who was still annoyed and now more annoyed not knowing the prize(he always has to know with anything). I'm not sending anything unless I know the prize says hubby. So Sam keeps insisting no prize details until receipts sent, hubby keeps saying no receipts until prize known. Sam says he'll consult his manager. Sam rings back at the wrong time again and says he cant tell what the prize is without the receipts and also all the barcodes for the entries. Hubby told him to get lost!

I told hubby that t/cs do say online entries need both receipts and barcodes for all entries and that he could have won a freezer, plasma tv or Qld holiday - wasn't impressedas we have 3 lcd tvs, a large freezer and have a Qld holiday he got as a work bonus coming up. I feel sorry for Sam, but hubby says the prize could have been a promotional hat, What can you do but laugh or cry?!!

wow I think I would king hit hubby and use my own email address from now on for entries etc. Why would you not be impressed at winning a prize?? especially in that competition.

He might lose out now if he isn't going to send in the receipts etc. They can email me instead if they like

:P:P:P

Well can I have the plasma if he dosen't want it!!!!!!!!
Gosh I would have grabbed the phone out of his hand, apologised profusely & sent receipts in for any prize!!!!
Your Hubby is banned from comps from now on!!!!!!

I actually feel sorry for Sam! He is the one that told me I had won a plasma, in this same comp, and I had a really nice conversation with him.

He is such a lovely, friendly guy, that reaction would have floored him,.

Seriously, you need to train your hubby on "comping do's and don'ts, .......good luck

Are you the fire-breathing dragon1366 ?? - turn up the heat :P:P:P - or send him off for re-training to boot camp. ;)

weird...if he entered the comp why would he be so rude when he wins something? also, if it is one entry per household, why didn't you enter instead of him....that way you would have scored the prize, with no issues.

Oh no...my hubby would have been wrapped if someone was trying to tell him he won something. But he probably would have told Sam to expalin it all to me so I could organise the receipts etc.

OMG I would've killed him!!! So inappropriate

Don't worry about the prize dragon1366. Any one of us Lottoers would be happy to win it as a second chance prize :P:P:P

Thats terrible................. poor Sam

Hubby doesn't sound like a very happy little vegemite today :-(

Sam can call me - I'll happily be over the moon and send him any receipt he wants

Sam is probably still shaking his head! :o:o:o

why enter when you are not interested in winning???
Next time put the entry in your own name, so hubby can't mess it up.

Agree with you all and feel sorry for this Samebut hubby's going through a rough patch not knowing whether he's got a job next week or not plus both my parents dies within 5 mths of each other and we are getting their house ready for sale, hubby is doing all the DIY needed, plus all the legals, so he's been pretty good about that. I think it was pure frsutration and I think the issue was he just wanted to know what the prize was and I would have asked the same question, I didn't know he'd entered, I have everything that the comps has in prizes apart from the car, so havent entered..cest la vie

yep, everyone IS entitled to a 'bad day'....l bet we've all had them ...and l can't see what the prob is at all?? Apart from dragon missing out on prize, it doesn't affect anyone else..hell, it's a bonus for all others who entered the comp as they could be picked to receive the prize themselves in a second chance draw!!! And quite frankly this 'Sam' was being ridiculous by not telling him what the prize was. How stupid is that???

I kept all my reciepts......did you have to keep barcodes also. I didn't. I cant recall the T&C saying we had to. Did I stuff up. LOL. I'd hate to have to buy it all again :o

Thanks for the support seadust as I didn't see what was wrong with asking what the prize was and he was having a really bad day!

Komala, you apparently do have to have all the promotional barcodes if you have done an ONLINE entry, it is written in the T/C's and this Sam has said it too, so keep the barcodes of everything you buy for this comp
