Thermal receipts do fade but I think it usually takes a good year for most of them to do so. Its more a problem for warranties on items etc as by the
time you need to claim a warranty the receipt is faded. |

Thermal receipts fade if they get hot - so don't put them on top of any heat source - on top of printer, fridge, microwave etc or on the window sill.
If I have a three/five year warranty, I photocopy the receipt just in case.
I keep my receipts in a small box. When the box gets full, I seal up the box and store it. If I don't access the box for over a year, it gets thrown
away. |

hey hun, i've done the same as you and mine are fine, except when i've stapled a couple together on the same day, they've started to fade a bit, but
if you only have one per page then they are fine. Mine looks similar to yours, it barely fits in the desk drawer now |

I have some pages with about 5 or 6 receipts, so they do overlap. I'll go through my book and see what my oldest ones look like.

My new years resolution is to have my receipts and special codewords and labels with codes collated properly in a diary this year instead of just
rolled up and stuffed into a jug at the back of the cupboard. I'll be able to find them easily when I get that call for proof of purchase!!!!!!!!!!
Not that I've ever had one but I'm going to be ready this year. PROMISE!!!!!!!!!!!! |

Just got a great 2011 diary from big w, $15, it's a day per page and with ring binding, you need a diary that has that or a soft binding (this is what
I got last year and was great), don't get the skinny hard bound ones as you'll never be able to close the diary once you start filling it. They were
pink, purple and green SOHO diaries, just thought I post in case anyone's having problems trying to find one as I've been looking for weeks and hadn't
found one until today. |

I just put them all in a pencil case. I don't enter many product comps Right now I just have McDonalds drive-thru receipts and Beyonce Coca Cola
receipts, so I don't really have the need for a folder or anything
Edit: But if I WAS going to get really fancy I'd get one of those small handheld scanners and scan all my receipts onto a memory card and sort them
into computer folders, as well as keeping them in a pencil case. You just never know, and when a faded receipt is standing between you and a holiday
you'll wish you had a copy on your computer! |
