WPC about a trip to Bahamas today. SCAM
I got a phone call today from an American man named "Michael" who informed me I had won a cruise to the Bahamas for 4 days. I had also won 5 days 4
nights in Orlando, 3 days 2nights in Daytona, 4 days 3 nights in Pt Lauder(? cant read what i scribbled while on the phone) and then 4 days in the
Bahamas.
I just have to get my flights over to Florida apparently. I was in a rush to go to an appointment and it sounded dodgy, so I took their website
address (www.flafunvacation.com) He wouldnt give me a number to call him back on and he said he will call back later..
The phone number he rang from was +30699991
Has anyone else encountered this? I will update if i get a call back, but Im not sure I will and Im pretty convinced its a scam. Not sure where I
entered my details or which comp, but i dont remember entering anything looking too bogus or terribly unprofessional. Just got a strong feeling when
talking to the guy that it was a scam. He asked if I was married, If i had a credit card (obviously not giving those details out!)
Just wanted to put it out there so you're all aware and find out if anyone else had had a phone call form them.. |

A few years ago we got a call like this and my husband thought it sounded great so gave him our details They took about $800 off our credit card and said we had 12 months to take our trip. I was furious and phoned the
guy who said I couldn't have my money back, I told him that I was entitled to a refund and wanted one, to which he promptly hung up on me. I rang
several times after that then finally, weeks later, got someone else who told me the guy i was previously talking to had been sacked and that they
would refund my money straight away, the next day my money was back on my card.
We've had a few similar calls since then but Hubby is now alot more careful |

Youre lucky you got the money back!
I thought it was going to be the kinda scam that gets credit card details and spends up at your expense..
They didnt call me back btw!
my brother did some research and found someone else that had a phone call very recently that sounds exactly like mine http://translate.google.com.au/translate?hl=en&sl=nl&u=http://lisainluik.wordpress.com/2009/07/16/scammer-de-scam/&ei=AAiNSpK_B4WGkQW7o4Wg

So basically they try and get you excited about winning something, when they are just trying to sell you something.. Which is a mean thing to do.. I
am scared (well terrified) of flying so I dont get excited about holidays! haha, but none the less, its mean to call someone implying theyve won
something when they havent.. |

Hi
Yes it sounds like a scam to me! you have won something and then you have to give over YOUR credit card details, mmmmm...
My hubby got a call tonight with the exact same scenario and website as stated above. They of course asked for his credit card details. Yes, he gave
them the credit card details. Then he was on hold for ages while they were trying to verify the credit card.
I overheard this and quickly ran into the room telling my hubby to quickly transfer the money out of the account and leave it with a zero balance. He
then just hung up the phone.
It does sound like a scam, my hubby phoned the credit card people and reported it just incase. ( and cancelled his card). |

Yes its a fairly common scam that happens these days. Just best to hang up pretty swiftly after saying not interested. |
