Some FAQ's - http://www.lumixlife.com.au/faq.cfm
Do the images have to be mine? Can I submit some of my friends'? The images must be taken by you for you to include them in the exhibition, under your
name. We want the credit to go to the photographers themselves.
Do I have to be a certain age to enter? No, anyone can enter. In fact we like to encourage young photographers. However people under the age of 16
should get consent from their parent or guardian to take part.
My photos have been taken with a LUMIX camera but the upload is not recognizing that. Why? If your photos have definitely been taken with a LUMIX but
you cannot upload then, you may have accidently removed the exif data belonging to the photo when resizing or editing. The exif data is how we verify
that photos were taken on a LUMIX. Return to the original photo. Programs such as photoshop should not effect this when edited. If you continue to
have problems contact us for assistance.
What if someone uses a photograph that doesn't belong to them? If you see an image that shouldn't be there, send the details of the image, and your
reason for removal to us. This will alert the judging panel and appropriate action will be taken.
What do you mean by 'appropriate action'? If there is an issue then we'll take the exhibition down until it gets resolved. No exceptions. Refer to the
exhibition Selection Criteria for further detail.
Can I sell my work at the exhibition? No. LUMIX Life images will not be available for sale. If you would like to sell your images we suggest you
enquire with online photographic websites where upcoming artists can sell their work.
Does Panasonic own the copyright to my work? The photographer retains copyright to his or her images. Panasonic reserves the right to display the
images for the purpose of the exhibition. Check the Selection Criteria for more information.
What about obscene or otherwise disturbing images? Hopefully they won't make it through the judging panel process, but if you do see something
upsetting then please let us know by sending the details of the image and your reason for removal.
How do you decide which images to pick? The judging panel is selecting the exhibitions based on artistic merit of the exhibition as a whole, technical
competency and quality of individual images.
Who is on the judging panel? The judging panel consists primarily of Panasonic representatives. A number of non-Panasonic representatives
(ambassadors) may also be invited to assist in the judging. These ambassadors may include some professional photographers.
Why is this only in Australia? The program originated in Australia but is open to LUMIX photographers from all around the world.
What should I do my exhibition on? It is absolutely your decision. You provide the inspiration and the images; we'll provide the wall space. If you're
really unsure then check out some other exhibitions in your local area and talk to some of the gallery staff there. Tell them we sent you.
Where is the gallery? The gallery is in Paddington, an inner Eastern suburb of Sydney, Australia. Directions to the gallery can be found on the Visit
the Gallery page. We encourage you to drop in and have a look at the work currently exhibiting.
How do I know when my exhibition will be on display? If successful, you will be notified by email. Information will also be available on the website
with regards to exhibition times.
I don't like the time of my exhibition, can I change it? With fifty exhibitions over four weeks, the schedule is very full, so it is not possible to
change the date and time of the exhibition once selected. We'll try and give you as much notice as we can so you can see your exhibition in person.
Can I keep copies of the prints that you exhibit? The images will be displayed on ten hand-calibrated 58" Panasonic Plasmas. We do this because they
look incredible, and so we can easily refresh the exhibition. Sadly, we can't give away these displays.
Do I have to use a LUMIX camera for my submissions? Yes. As the name suggests, the LUMIX Life exhibition features images captured by LUMIX cameras.
How do you know if I've used a LUMIX camera or not? A digital image captured by a LUMIX camera contains meta-data that includes information about the
model it was taken with.
Can I submit more than one entry? Multiple entries are accepted, but please note that you can only be selected once to be exhibited.
Will this exhibition be travelling to other Australian galleries? The exhibition is based in Sydney, as well as online. At this stage we do not have
plans to expand the exhibition to other galleries around Australia.
Can I invite people to see my exhibition? Absolutely, we'd love to see you down there.
My exhibition was so much better than anyone else's, why didn't it get selected? We strongly encourage you to invite your friends and family to vote
for you in the People's Choice Award.
Can I also see my photos in the LUMIX Flickr group? Yes. We would love you to join our Panasonic LUMIX Australia group and add your photos to the
LUMIX Life pool. By doing this you can share comments and tips with other inspired photographers.
Can people comment on my photos? Comments can only be made if you have added your photos to the Panasonic LUMIX Australia group. A link will then
appear on your online exhibition allowing users to converse around your album on Flickr.
