Members signed up to NOVA FM - *PRIVACY WARNING*
I just got a bit of a shock, in relation to my privacy, as a member of the NOVA FM website.
I filled out a couple of their survey's about an hour ago and just got this:
A Google Alert (via email) with my name on it, and yes, the alert led to my Profile Page of NOVA FM, with my details there, for the whole world to
see!
I do have a NOVA 'nickname' but what's the point, if everyone can just 'Google' me and find out anyway!
Needless to say, I have now 'updated' my profile, to limit the visible information, and have sent off an email to the webmaster of NOVA FM.webmaster@nova100.com.au
I tried to bring up their 'Privacy Statement' again, but that link is not working..surprise surprise!
Not happy Jan!!
Highly suggest all NOVA members, check their own names on Google and see if it's happened to you too! |

I googled my name and all that came up was for Boozemonkey my whole profile but if you google your username and its a different matter there were a
ton of sites that came up with all my profile details listed for everyone to see |

Sorry petrie, I don't get what you mean?
A google alert with my full name came thru on an email. The link came up to my Nova Profile, which shows my real details. Was it the same for you?
EDIT: When I google my 'nickname' I know my profiles come up, but no others show my REAL details, only NOVA (not anymore because I've updated it and
complained) |

no nothing for nova it was just all my profile for the boozemonkey but if i google my username to log in there were all these sites with all my
profiles listed |

I've been a member for ages, but it comes up as member only from 10/12, so they must have changed something on their website on that date and now the
profiles come up via your real name and Google. The last time I logged in was just prior to that date (a comp of course)! |

just went and changed my privacy on the Boozemonkey so no one will be able to view my profile anymore i hope |

There are NO privacy settings! I still haven't heard back from them either. |

it only has name and state for me. not too worried as wins that go into the PN's have name and post code usually so not really any additional info.
Maybe you can delete any additional info stored on that site?
It is pretty poor form though if your private info is on site like email, addy or ph no. |

my email, postal address and phone number are all on there, and each time I remove them and save changes they just come back, im so unimpressed and
theres nothing that I can even do about it. Shame on Nova! |

Yes, I discovered this the other day when I 'googled' my name. Wasn't very impressed! Went and changed my settings via Nova's website, but I think
it's pretty poor form on their behalf  |

lisap i would try googling your name again, because ive tried to change settings, delete information and nothing has worked it keeps coming straight
back |

It just now happened to me, i cleared all the info saved changes and when i go back all the old info is there....ggggrrrrr not happy jan
