Prize Paranoia

posted 22-1-2011 @ 11:49 AM www

Love everyone's answers to this thread.
I'm sure all compers can relate

I have a new Aust Post courier and he is going to give me a heartattack.
Just wish he'd do his job properly, it's not rocket science.

Only a comping family would make an official complaint via the postal ombusman right?
Well, my husband did and now I'm sure I'll never recieve anything ever again.....:sniffle::o:sniffle:
Maybe I shouldn't have nagged, complained and whinged about it every minute of everyday:rolleyes:

I too suffer with Prize Paranoia......

OOh Brilliant idea!
I leave the door of the letterbox open (except when it's raining) so that I can perve many times a day through the peephole in the front door to see if the postie's been.

I also keep the front path and porch well swept and clear of overhanging greenery so that the good feng shui can come straight to my front door.

The people across the road used to have a wonderful dog who had a special postman bark different to all her other barks, so that I could leap out at the instant the mail went in the box. Unfortunately Molly died a few years ago, and none of the other dogs in the street including ours have managed to keep up the tradition! :(

Thanks everyone for the laughs.....I feel so normal now :)

A real "weirdo" here!
Well thats the look I got from the checkout operator recently...

I bought ONE bottle of water but asked her to scan it twice, so that I could pay for it twice

Reason being is that I needed to purchase two bottles to enter comp. Store only had one bottle left and comp was closing soon!!

Who said we were crazy :dork:

I get upset with my husband who works nights and is home during the day. He has the annoying habit of picking up the mail when he goes on an outing during the day:Pl and has been known to pick up my wins and leaves him in his car and sometimes forgets to give them to me for a few days. i am so obsessed with this that I dont believe him when he says nothing arrived and hunt through his ca every day much to his annoyance

I had a great time reading ,especially mip, that was soo funny!
We are all the same...
My friends look at me funny when I tell them about my wins
My mail gets delivered around 4 pm,imagine how many times I check!
I never go to the shops without my comping notebook!

If I see a courier van on my way to work, I risk running late by turning around and following it to see if it's going to my house

I also have suspicions that the neighbours are stealing my mail

In my mind, we are all very sane ;)

OMG - We're all insane!!

" I get disappointed when it's my family calling and not a promoter"
I google myself, in case I've won something and they haven't notified "me... "
"I've just walked in from checking the letterbox on a Saturday"

These comments from this thread are so me - what has dramatically changed in our household is that everytime the doorbell rings during the day it's a rush by Hubby, me and the kids to see if it's a delivery. When it's a poor relative or friend they get this look of horror!

Many of these are me too!

I had "comping phone rage" the other day when the rspca rang on my comping phone - it only rings once every few weeks - and tried to get a donation. How dare they ring my comping phone :) :)

I have periods of being 'over it' and wanting my life back, but it never lasts.

Prize wins 2014: $37680
Prize wins 2011: $13000
previous years about $25000

The harder you work the luckier you get
