Any ideas on how to do Disneyland in two days please?
My daughter and her friend will be in Disneyland in just over a week. I was wondering if someone could please tell me the most efficient way for
them to tackle Disneyland over two days? They will be there on Friday and Saturday next week.
Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Oh wow! I guess it's able to be done, just depends on whether they want to see all or just the major things.
With some passes, you get an early morning which means you can get into the park an hour earlier than most. This is fantastic especially for rides
where you have to queue for ages. I haven't been there for a few years, but they were: Space Mountain, Pirates of the Caribbean and Indiana Jones.
Also with certain passes you can get a 'fastpass' which means you swipe your card and come back at the allotted time. You can only use this a couple
of times a day. Can certianly save a fair bit of time. |

I think there is an article about this in either take that or take 5 last week or this week with hints and tips. Definetly some mag I read.
Anyway says if you stay at one of the hotels at Disney then you get in an hour earlier. Said to run like hell once the gates open and also about that
fast pass. |

The Disney website had advice last time I looked. Unless the Friday is a public holiday, go on the most popular rides with long lineups that they
like on Friday. Look through Disney's website to see which rides are most appealing and leave out the more boring rides or those for small children
perhaps. Toon Town is mostly for small children, although Roger Rabbit was good. If they don't like Roller Coasters, Space Mountain can be pretty
scarey in the dark. My favourite ride was the Rocket Rods. The tea cups were enjoyable, but I think they have similar rides in Australia. |

With Fast Pass you can swipe it every 2 hours.So go to Space Mountain and swipe it.Then 2 hours later you can swipe it at another main ride.This gives
you a time frame to do the ride.Fri and Sat they are open until 12. |

We just got back from Disneyland and we downloaded a program called Ridemax for $15. It was soooooo worth it. I researched it a bit and felt kinda
wary, but after using it would totally recommend it. It allows you to put in the date/s you are visiting then to list what rides you want to tackle
as well as breaks etc. It then gives you an itinerary based on when ride lines are at their slowest throughout the day. I can honestly say that with
two children we saw everything we had on our list and it was spot on! (we even made better time on some things and even got to throw in a few extra
rides).

It was well worth the $15 for us and helped us see all we wanted instead of just wandering around trying to figure it all out. It also incorporates
fastpasses as well.
Best of luck, they will have a wonderful time I'm sure. If possible, don't miss the night fireworks at the castle with tinkerbell, its magnificent.

I spent a day at Disneyland in February. It is easy to go on every ride if you arrive early, and use the 'Single Rider' queues that the major
attractions have. We bypassed the queues on all but one or two rides where we had to wait for up to and including twenty minutes. |

It's many years since I was in Disneyland, but both times we went, we did a LOT in a one-day visit.
My suggestion would be to go for the most popular rides on the Friday, because this is still a school day for kids over there, whereas on Saturday you
may have more people visiting (locals/day-trippers.) |

Similar to what others have said - go to the rides you really want to go on first on the Friday. Also, look at a map of the park online and work out
where the rides are located and what order to do them. I love Disneyland - both times I've been, I've managed to see and do everything I wanted to in
2 days. |

One site we used that was fantastic was touringplans.com - it cost about $7 for a year's membership, and you can find all the up to the minute info on
lowest crowd numbers, up to the minute lines information for each ride, etc. Fast pass is also a must (we went to Disneyworld, and I don't know if
Disneyland has the Toystory ride, but we found you had to run to the ride to book in your fastpass asap as all the fastpass tickets for the whole day
were gone by about 10.30am. Wouldn't have known that without the the travelguide or touringplans info). It was also great to use my husband's iphone
to use their app - so if we found a large queue, we'd get on the phone and find which queues were shorter. Saved us so much time. (although his was a
work phone, and he had to use it for work there, so there wasn't extra cost in using it for going on the net.

We did it in 2 days....... we planned what we wanted to go on..... chose the most popular rides early in the day, used fast passes etc....and decided
on the first day to not go to any shows or watch parades at all.......jsut do rides etc. Also use the single rider queues...........you usually end up
riding with your family anyway...
Arrived first thing in the morning, left last thing at night.
Day 2 involved doing the things we enjoyed most of all and taking in the shows and parades..... once again arriving first thing in the morning and
last thing at night....
And I feel like we saw everything........ |

It's been a few years but we did Disneyland in one day in their school holidays even - I loved it but a day was enough. On another trip we took two
days to do Disneyworld and the Epcot Centre. There were queues but there queue's do move fast! |

Ps, one of my absolute favourites is Soarin over California in California Adventure Park.
Something else to be careful of is to check what the tickets entitle you to. I have a feeling that Some may be one park, one day so you couldn't do
two parks in one day.
Even though they are only there 2 days, they may be better off buying a 3 day ticket to get the early start and fast pass if not included in 2 days.
(if they arrive there the day before, they could also just pop in for the night then as well.) |

When we were there many years ago we stayed until they closed at midnight. The later is got the shorter the queue. We went on space mountain 3 times
each at 11pm at night and walked straight on each time. Each ride took us twice as long because we had a baby and only one of us could ride at a time.
Disneyland is for ADULTS (as well as kids) - it is so much fun!

I actually think this is the ideal time to go, because some rides will have already been decorated for Halloween! I went around this time when I
went, and that was the highlight for me. In my case, it was very quiet, because it was shortly after the terrorist attacks in New York City in
September 2001. |

sorry but i would have to disagree.. we went as a family of mum and 7 year old who are thrill seekers and dad and 10 year old who are absolute wusses
and there was something for everyone! soarin over california is not scary and definitely for adults, the jungle cruise isnt scary, the new cars race
track and nemo submarines arent scary and definitely suitable for adults.. while alot of the rides are directed at kids and have kiddie content, ie.
toy story, roger rabbit etc, they are definitely suitable for adults.. i still believe it is the most amazing place i have ever been and certainly
some of the most joyous moments have come from watching my children there! obviously just my opinion though 
in regards to doing disneyland in 2 days, there is a book called the unofficial guide to disneyland and it is brilliant! it shows the exact routs to
take through the park to see everything in the shortest amount of time.. i have it and could copy the pages that contain the two day suggestions, but
note that it is a copy that was from before the cars land opened sop therefor doesnt include this.. has brilliant tips on disneyland though so if you
wanted the updated version they are around $20 at bookstores.. |

i agree jokaboobie! EVen the rides aimed at the little kids are very enjoyable for adults... i guess unless they are only happy with serious
thrillseeker rides.
I loved Peter Pan & Roger Rabbit as well as Space Mountain. |

same.. peter pan was the longest ride line we had at 40 minutes but it was so worth the wait! my favourites were toy story mania, nemo's submarines,
soarin over california and roger rabbit just to name a few!! but its not all about the rides either.. we loved turtles crush talk and the muppet
theatre.. oh and a bugs life 4d, that was awesome! loved the parades too, especially the pixar street party and now with world of colour there is so
much to see without even going on a ride! the fireworks are the best i have seen anywhere in the world, without exaggeration!
id give almost anything to be back in disneyland.. we were there for six days and could have easily stayed six more! its like the rest of the world
doesnt exist once you're inside the gates... its is magical and breathtaking no matter how old you are! |

I don't disagree that it is a good theme park - particularly in Japan, Disney have some of the most complete theming of any parks I've been to - but
most of the rides are child safe. There is really nothing that will challenge those who are into thrill rides. California Screamin' remains on my
rollercoaster top ten list as one of the most attractive and innovative rollercoasters I've been on, but as my particularly non-thrill seeking travel
partner said to an old woman at Disneyland, "I don't go on rollercoasters, but the Disney ones should be safe enough." I was also able to convince my
dad to go on his first rollercoaster at Disneyland too (although he will never go on another after it broke down at the top of a lift hill.) |

Definitley not...my 18 year old and myself had the best time....... loved it all....it is also the magic of the place that makes it special....go with
the right attitude and you will love it all. |
