How to Win WOL's in 2013

my witty words or less are yet to win a contest. I suck at rhyming or maybe it's timing? I need a good tip to win me a trip!

Be entirely DIFFERENT.

Best way to win is to enter :yes::yes:

There isn't a formula all promoters are different and will choose different types of entries or draw an entry.

Just keep trying, as the old saying goes...

It won't happen overnight but it will happen!

Think outside the square.
Be original.
Keep going.
Just shows you that comping is difficult...it's not a piece of cake & it's not for the impatient & faint hearted!

some (and in my opinion, alot, are drawn). So agonising over some WOL's is sometimes a waste of time. There may be a handful of companies that actually judge sometimes thousands of entries and to win those, you really have to write something special. Competition is fierce ;)
I love 'once only' entry and put more effort into those. Unlimited entry, well, my dog may win one of those with a paw print if he's lucky enough

Try to be original like Kismet said. I try the outside the square and/or mix it up a little. i.e witty, to the point or rhyming.
It all depends on who's reading it (if it even gets read), talent with words and of course - luck!
I try humour alot and have had success.

The best advice I have seen on Lottos is enter, forget and move on to the next competition. Oh, and cross your fingers!

Just keep entering and entering. :)

I only started doing this last year, so am by no means experienced at it....

I have won with WOL that slotted into the following categories:
- completely over the top and silly
- really lame and written when over tired. (I am always surprised when these win. Probably drawn).
- a rhyme
- to the point (like fifi1970 mentioned)
- outside the square (like kismet mentioned)

I haven't won with any 25 WOL entry that is too deep and meaningful LOL.

EDIT: Whoops! I just re-read your original message and realised that you are looking for tips to win a trip. My tips above never won a trip! Probably shouldn't have posted my 2c worth here LOL :dork:  . I will read messages from trip winning lottoers with interest.

The ones I over think never seem to win. The ones I have given a honest and straight foward answer have. Do not know if that is the kind of answer you are looking for.

LOVE IT:P:P:P:P:P
I just enter, enter and enter some more.
I agree with what has been said,so many are drawn.
I try alittle of everything, though I find when I really try hard I get
nothing and when I give a straight from the heart answer, I win;););)
Never give up:thumbup::thumbup::thumbup:

Well having never won a 25 WOL or less comp thus far, I have entered witty rhymes (no luck) and written total crap after several drinks (also no luck). Will keep trying and let you know if I ever manage to snag a 25 WOL or less win. PS - did win a trip with 1 entry in a Corona competition.

Edit: Sorry, meant to say the Corona comp was purchase.

Just when you think nothing is ever going to happen and you're never going to win....a win will usually sneak up on you!

I recently won a 50WOL comp using only 3 words..... Q was something like how would you get rid of zombies in your house, and I wrote I'd call ghostbusters!. You never know what they are looking for, or the likelihood of it being drawn, I've taken onboard the lottos mantra of enter and forget :).

I won $1000 watch - the question was, "What is on the top of your Christmas Wish List"

My answer, -
"The heading - 'Christmas Wish List' "

because I was tired and couldn't think of anything to say that was original. And to my surprise, it won.

I would suggest not posting your wols every week

I've never won a trip (except once in a draw) so i can't help you there. My hints for generally winning WOL comps

For two weeks (or even longer) - try answering as many WOLs as possible. Don't work too hard on your answers - go for quantity not quality. You'd be surprised how many good answers you can come up with off the top of your head - or how many silly answers will actually win.

Try something different - judges get sick of reading the same answer over and over again - if you have a crazy idea - don't question it - just use it (even if it doesn't quite answer the question - as long as it's related to the question - you never know - the judge might have the same sense of humour you do)

Thirdly - hoard your answers. My answer for my favourite movie won the 15th time I entered it. If you have a good answer - you just have to get the right judge on the right day who's in the right mood to LOVE your answer.

I'm voting with stass and langod!

Hoard your wol away for future use! There are often times when a similar style answer can be used in a completely different comp...and different judges may love it!

I roll out similar versions of the same Easter Show comp entry year after year and have won with different versions for different promoters in subsequent years.

I even won two interstate holidays (to the same state) with different promoters from two entries that had had come from the same idea!

If your original entries are in the public domain, they are a source for unscrupulous compers (not necessary lottoers but anyone who googles) to use as inspiration so are no longer necessarily "original". We have all seen "stolen" entries win time after time!

I've never won a trip, but won a lovely sun lounge set in 2012, and the question was 'Why do you wan this prize, and I told the truth- that my current outdoor setting was falling apart.

Also won a DP to movie The Devil a couple of years ago, and question was'
Why do you wan to see this movie- my answer - The Devil made me do it. Urbancinefile, where I've won quite a few DVD's/ books/ DPs do read the answers and every time I've won, it has been with a truthful answer, but they do not seem to like rhymes.

Just enter and forget
posted 25-2-2013 @ 02:14 PM www

"Just enter and forget": yep, priceless, and just what I do. I find what works for me most is just to give a really down to earth answer, but slightly different to what other people would put. Ie, don't say 'I'd love this prize' or anything so lame!

I don't bother with poetry. I myself hate poetry and if I was judging I wouldn't be letting poems win because I despise them. It really just depends on who is reading them. Often it's just the secretary or someone at the company who has some free time who will pick the winners, I reckon, and who knows what that person will like or not like.

bridget42, I would have chosen your answer as the winner as well!
