Tv series that you never wanted to end...

Hi Dolphin - did you watch the Tudors - tame version of Game of Thrones but watchable. I love Game of Thrones but struggling to get hooked on the Borgias. Walking Dead is my absolute love!

I have to say, I finally the first five or six episodes of Walking Dead, and whilst it is interesting, I dislike almost every character. I find myself going for the zombies, and hoping for the end of all humanity.

I have one episode left out of ten seasons of Stargate to watch! My son and I have been watching together and we're too sad to watch it!

My teenage son and I have just finished both Stargate and Stargate Atlantis. Watch that last episode, and move onto Atlantis. It's so much fun when there are occasional appearances from the Stargate crew, and you will grow to love the Atlantis characters as much as the original.

I'm waiting a couple of years before we tackle Stargate Universe. I think there are some themes a bit too raunchy for a 14-year-old!!

Hi tiggerlover - gotto love someone on the same wavelength of Stargate. We've watched Atlantis twice. Accidently found it on some obscure channel and starting watching and loved so much we went and bought all the discs. I just love Rodney Mackay! Then we ventured to Universe. First episode I thought I'd made a mistake as OMG stargate had a sex scene! But it did tone down after that and it took me a little while to warm to it but loved it too. I actually got home from work tonight and we decided to do it and you will never believe it - about five minutes from the end it froze - scratch on the disk!! Madly trying to download it now! Arc of Truth next!

I loved the Stargate movie a lot, but never really enjoyed the series at all.

There are a couple of characters that are very easy to dislike, but some of them grow on you in the second and third season :)

A country Practice! I'm currently reliving the glory days with the box set! The worst part was when Molly died! I'll never get over that! :(

It is amazing to see mums posting about watching shows with their teenage boys. My son and I have just watched the series Firefly which only made one series and was then scrapped by FOX but has now developed a bit of a cult following apparently.
Anyway it was okay but so nice to spend some one on one time with my boy. It seems like it is a good way to bond with boys this age, they really like sitting down with mum to watch a series (esp Sci-Fi apparently). My son has now got us lined up to watch Sherlock together and I cannot wait, doesn't really matter what the show is like, as long as he wants to watch it with me I'm one happy mummy!!

Gigondasgirl :thumbup::thumbup::thumbup:
I absolutely love watching with my older son - there is very little we do together anymore - it's usually me driving him to sport and watching him. My younger son has been quite jealous of our Stargate time and makes me watch awful abc 3 shows with him which I suffer through! Also my husband has become quite jealous as well and he's trying to find a show that he can watch with both of them!

ps - and we've been banned from talking Stargate at the dining table!

So sad when Medium finished. I have every episode of that great series. Also confess to being a sci-fi 'geek' (don't like "sy-fy" new term) that is being used (TV Winners on that bandwagon) - why change a good thing?
Other shows I like include:
oldies - The Outer Limits, UFO, Space 1999, Twilight Zone, X-Files, Star Trek Voyager.
newer - The Closer, Upper Middle Bogan and I look in on Home and Away often (have done since 1989).
Used to work in TV (1978-1991) and dreaded when I got stuck on the Gardening Show. Now I'm older and addicted to gardening and would have to add Gardening Australia to my list of favourites! Funny how things change!
