Beyonce ticket win became so much more .....
Thanks to Coles I won tickets to Beyonce in Sydney, being that we live near the Queensland border it's always a tossup about going so I thought I'd
wait for the tickets to arrive and probably onsell them.
My tickets arrived 10 days before the concert and instead of being the $200 a pair they were actually $249.90 each ... I checked online as to where
they were situated (fabulous seats) booked flights down and told my 16yo I was taking her. I tried my darndest to get flights back for the Friday but
they were $400, bus was $290 so we got the train tickets with Country Link for $120 (me) $1 (daughter).
So with Glee we drove to Ballina to catch the plane, took the obligatory selfie(made the 70yo fella sitting on the window seat get in the picture),
did the always necessary facebook post that the adventure was starting.
We arrived in Sydney to a beautiful day, read my fb status and there was a comment from one of my oldest girlfriend's nephew asking me to drop into
his work to say hi. We had an hour or so to kill before meeting up with my daughter's brother so I thought ok... how hard is it to find Aria
Restaurant.
So here we are walking all around Circular Quay ... looking up and down we see restaurants everywhere, couldn't find Aria anywhere, my stepson had
told me it was at Hyde Park so we walked all the way up there, turns out it was NOT up there, we walked all the way back down ... I had been staring
up at it the whole time when we were near the Opera House, if only I had turned up Macquarie Street instead of turning back.
We walked into the restaurant with such trepidation, anyone on Lottos who knows me knows I adore food, love cooking it, eating it, talking about it
etc etc, one of my bucket lists was to eat at Aria. I was overwhelmed with how understated Aria was, just pristine and simple. I was met at the front
by one of the Matre D's and let him know I just wanted to drop in and say hi to let's call him "B" ... next minute he takes me into the hub of Aria's
restaurant, the actual kitchen. OMGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGG
"B" asked me if I wanted to stay for lunch after he had introduced me to the chef's (Matt Moran sadly wasn't in yet)... I whispered in his ear "I
can't afford to eat here"
Lo and behold within three minutes I am seated at the VIP table overlooking the Opera House and asked which beverage I would love.
My stepson arrived after about 20 mins and the meal that ensued was 8 courses melded into one 4 hour luncheon fit for the best of the best.
I had said for "B" to just send out whatever he wanted to cook, I had not expected to be enjoying a chef's menu that included Waygu Beef, Scallops,
Duck, Lamb with palate cleansers in between then 3 desserts, then because he didn't feel we'd had enough variety then sent out another plate of
desserts and coffee.
"B" then came out and chatted to us for a bit, then took me on a tour again of the kitchen, as well as showing me the Private Dining Room which
commands a price of $6k and only seats 8 diners.
To say it was a fantasy come true was a total understatement, I actually cried tears of joy that a young lad I'd known since birth cared enough about
me and knows my dreams fulfilled one today.
My daughter and I then had to waddle back sated and exhibiting a massive food belly to prepare for the Beyonce concert ... it was one of the ABSOLUTE
BEST days of my life.
Dreams do come true .... |

wow, lucky you. so glad you made the trip. yes it was a bonus to get Beyonce tickets that were premium and not the $99 they stated in the terms. I
sold my tickets to a friend of friend who I had met a couple times, for $35 each, yes that's right $249 ticket sold for just $35. Because at the time
I mentioned it I thought it was the 'bad seats'. It was a debacle because the tickets came the day before I was leaving to go away for the weekend
and was not enough time to onsend them the friend in Brisbane, but in the end the tickets flew on the plane with someone else and the person met the
tickets at the airport just in time to head to the concert. I may have made the trip myself and not sold the tickets if I knew that they would be
that good but we had spent a weekend away and it would have been a mad rush to get Brisbane for the concert. I will never sell any tickets unless I
have them in my hot little hand first to see how good or bad they actually are.
Your friend sounds like a really nice and caring man. |

Thanks everyone, I felt a bit awkward sharing my joy but I'm still so over the moon that I got to give my daughter one of her dreams and as a result
someone so generous gave me one of mine.
My hubby says I am a magic maker and I used to believe it but thought I had lost my ability to manifest, just goes to show me it was on holiday lol
I love how Lottos makes my world and everyone else that's a part of this awesome group so interesting and full of excitement |
