I never enter creative comps either. Now I know why! Such amazing entries.
Many years ago I entered a picture I drew of surfing, for a win a surfboard comp and won a runners up surfmat (olden days boogie board ;) )
I also entered a comp to win a bed that you designed yourself, so I drew a wooden bed with scrolled posts with fruit bats carved into the top of the posts, carved snakes & vines etc. very gothic! I received a phone call to say they loved it, but it was too ornate for what they could make, so they created a runners up prize of a couple of pillows for me!
When I went to collect them they showed me the winners bed and it was just made of ply or chipboard, one dimensional, painted on picture type kids bed!
I haven't bothered since ;)

2005 total:$1,130-
2006 $5,500 app.
2007 $2,000 approx.
2008 $1200
2009 $930
2010 $4,200
2011 $1,473
2012 $675 :(
2013 $462 :(
2014 $2,150
2015 $120 :(
2016 $1150
2017 $210
2018 $210 at least I'm consistent!
2019 $115 still waiting for the big one!
2020 $550
2021 $3,000
All I want ... is a chance to prove that money can't make me happy! And 2024 is the year to do it!

I do have something to share, but it isnt a picture. I recently entered the JAX Continental tyre competition. I worked for the entire month on my entry. I didnt take a picture, as it was a booklet with receipts on it, and on ever receipt I wrote out on of my words over each receipt. I did get a runners up prize, my tyre money back, but missed out on first prize, which was the car. I can see why I missed out now and will give these a miss in the future, as I dont have the creative skills to make what has been uploaded here. Honestly, even after seeing the entries, I couldnt even try to copy them, so your copyright ladies is still in check.
As for my runners-up words for this latest comp, my words were:
"FOUR TYRED will become admired, as I'll be the WHEEL BALANCED Mum with CHANGE in my pockets, who doesn't have to hide the shopping dockets!"
This is the best I can offer to share with you guys my entries. Hope it helps! xxxxx
PS Thanks all for sharing!

I've never entered Madman art comps, mainly due to a severe lack of artistic talent, but thought I'd share this gallery of competition entries. Some of the artwork is awesome. My stick figures just wouldn't cut it......

All those entries are truly amazing and can definitely see why they won!! So many talented lottoers!! No wonder it's so impossible to win

P.s I made this for a Clinkers comp - you had to make something out of clinkers which was so hard, since they are so oblong shaped haha

Just wondering for those who have included entries above, were these all competitions which called for a creative/artistic entry or were some mail-in 25wol where you chose to present them creatively? I myself just LOVE making creative entries, but often worry if turning a written 25 wol comp into a creative entry of my own volition will annoy the judges, disqualify me or seem OTT?

I will share some pics when I find them, great thread jed dog and all such gorgeous entries!

My wins mickeymagic have not stated anything but 'judged on creative and literacy merit'... I have just taken liberty on this statement. I have had heaps of losers also believe me but it is always heaps of fun and the kids love helping do them.

The best entry I ever saw was the winning entry for a comp in OUTBACK magazine a few years back. I myself had won the year previous and enjoyed an amazing trip to Wrotham Park Qld. I could not enter this particular comp. due to winning the previous 2 years so was asked to 'sit it out'politely. lol.

The question was to describe in 25 words or less what the Outback meant to you?

The winner was a sardine can neatly rolled back and cleaned of all advertising with a single word on a small piece of paper stuck inside it.

The single word said 'SPACE'.

How clever!

...and here is another entry. A calico book hand made and decorated. Very simple technique but very effective. Have had a number of wins doing this and the kids do the painting.

fisy66 your family efforts are awesome! Not just the illustrations. The words are good too. Does your husband illustrate kids books?

I entered once a creative one it was for the childrens school and we just got a piece of carboard and took a photo of all the school kids blew it up in the middle decorated the outside with flowers and stickers galore like a magical garden display the WOL component was something about making a garden to see things grow while learning together we didn't win the $5000 major but they loved our entry and sent the school a huge pack of all their products I was proud of my daughters for doing it :)

I like that one, my hubby won 'Australia's Homer Simpson', was a Target comp years ago. Not sure it's something to be proud of though.

Some of these entries are amazing! It's no wonder that it is becoming so hard to crack these creative comps. For all the work that's involved in these type of entries, I've done much better with ordinary WOL comps.

This is one of my many non-winners - from a Christmas comp a couple of years ago.
