Raffles
Hi guys,
Can someone please point out to me where in the rules it states that raffles are not allowed on this site? I have had a look in the terms and
conditions, but couldn't find it stated anywhere. I had posted a raffle for a great cause with wonderful prizes (including a new Thermomix), because I
was under the assumption that it would be of interest to members. I am happy to put it into another section if it doesn't belong in the general
competitions area - but instead it has been removed. Can one of the mods please shed some light?
Cheers
DE

Not trying to be argumentative BTW, just trying to understand why they are not allowed and wondering it is stated in the rules (as I couldn't find it
anywhere). Maybe it should be so that it is clearer for others, rather that just being an unwritten rule. Is there anywhere on the forum that I am
allowed to place it for interested parties (as some people already expressed interest) - maybe in Off Topics?

Thanks dark Enigma for that link which I have removed off the forum as well.
I am trying to find where the information posted where raffle ticket comps are not allowed to be posted how ever I am unable to locate it at present.
I will make andrew aware of this thread and andrew can respond to it. All I know for now it that raffle ticket comps were not allowed to posted on the
forum as to why I am unsure.
However I am sure that andrew will respond when he has a moment.
I am sorry that I am unable to give you an answer at the moment

Raffles are a gambling product, similar to lotteries. We're a competitions website and list competitions.
In the past, some raffles that were listed did not have the relevant permits, so we no longer allow any to be posted as we don't have the means to
check which are legit and which are not.
CompTracker, first ever competitions tracking system!

I remember asking Andrew a couple of years ago if it was ok to post raffles and he said Yes. We'll have to ask him if he remembers that conversation,
but since U2Us are deleted I can't post his reply here.
I think they should be allowed because they offer good prizes with better odds of winning and they usually promote a charity.
Maybe we could set some rules of which raffles can be posted and create a new topic section for them. Just my thoughts.
Edit - There you go, Andrew has responded while I typed this message!

Understandable on the permit thing - although I guess the same could be said of any competition listed - especially Facebook ones as to whether they
are legitimate. Happy to comply with the rules, whatever is decided - was just curious as to why they were not allowed. Would I be allowed to post an
Off Topic conversation with the prize list and ask anyone who is interested to U2U me for details?
