Yes - loved it! It’s fantastic for families especially if you have kids between 8-17. I don’t think an older couple would enjoy as much.

Just booked for January 2020 to NZ.
Going on Radience in Dec.
Went on Explorer Dec 2016.
RC are pretty good. Nice balance of ages and food, staff and facilities are good quality.

We have been on a number of RCI cruises including anthem which is the sister ship of ovation. All great.

There are many facebook groups - one you may like to join is Cruising Royal Caribbean from Australia. Often someone sets up a facebook group for a particular cruise as well. There is also cruisecritic.com.au but it is dominated by people from the USA.

Cheers

A friend of mine recently went on Ovation of the Seas and didn't like it. She found it too crowded and said she spent half her time standing in queues. At the buffet people would sit and talk after they had eaten while there was a long queue waiting for a seat. Queuing up to get on or off for port stops took forever.
She has been on many cruises and enjoyed them but thought this ship was just too big with too many people and she just hasn't experienced this level of waiting for services before.

We have had several trips on Ovation and will go again. You have got to remember that it can take up to 5000 passengers so you have to be a little patient sometimes as the crew have a difficult job dealing with whinging passengers and do their best to accommodate and satisfy everyone. If a cruise port has to tender then there will be delays but if they are able to dock then you can walk off the ship at your own leisure. Buffet can be crowded so if you don't like lining up then go to the many dining rooms they have available. People love to voice criticism because of something minor that may have occurred but are 'missing' when it comes to anything that went well. My advice is to find out for yourself and go cruising with a positive attitude. Good luck.
