China and Korea tips and ideas
Hello fellow compers,
I am heading to China and Korea on business, in May this year.
Looking at staying an extra week after, any ideas on places to visit and hints please? TIA Eva |

Did China last year. Would recommend Great Wall. Took the chair up and rode the ride down |

If you are in South Korea and have time, try and do a tour of the DMZ and JSA. Well worth it. |

I’m assuming you will be visiting the usual Great Wall, Forbidden City, Summer Palace, Temple of Heaven, then if you have a few extra days I would
catch the High Speed Train to Xian for the Terracotta Warriors, just mind blowing. Then head back to Beijing on the train via Pingyao, an ancient
walled city rarely visited by foreigners. You can stay in a traditional Chinese guest house and wander round the intact ancient city within the walls,
lots for visitors to do and absolutely fascinating. Probably our families favourite spot out of three long trips to China.
Private Guides with cars are the way to go in most Chinese cities rather than bus tours, if you want a Beijing Recommendation msg me. I can also
recommend a great site (run by an Australian lady) for train tickets, she gives great information on how to buy the tickets and catch the trains. I
wouldn’t be scared of catching the high speed trains, if anything, they are even better than Japan, and very cheap. We always stick with First Class
though, it’s a bit quieter!
