How to avoid annoying friends with Facebook comps?

Hey guys!

I'm curious, do you have a seperate facebook account or page that you use for entering comps so you don't annoy your friends with constant comp feed? and do you have go-to friends that you tag for comps? I always tag my mum (she doesn't use her account)my partner and my best friend. I was wondering if there is any easier way though so i don't annoy them. I'd love to know what everyone else does. TIA x

I have a second account for competitions as I don't want all my friends to see my tags and shared posts! I never use my main personal account for competitions as I'd hate to be thought of as 'cheating' or entering twice.

My competition account has friends who are fellow compers - some I know are also members on here, others I found through some old Facebook Groups for people who enter competitions. I'm not sure if they still exist - I left as they got quite heated / nasty.

I occasionally post some 'real life' things on the competition facebook profile, as it is important it doesn't look just like it's for competitions. Make sure you clean up your 'wall' regularly to delete old competition posts once they have been drawn.

Be careful that Facebook doesn't ban you - it is against their rules to have more than one account.

It’s a risk I’m willing to take for the sake of not annoying my real life friends, and to still be able to enter Facebook comps. But definitely something to keep in mind for people considering this option. I’ve had two accounts for 5+ years now with no issue.

If I was banned from Facebook, maybe I’d waste less time on it and read more books :)

I have my facebook shares set to "friends except" and except all my non comping friends. It is not ideal as I don't share publicly. Most facebook competitions that want you to share are pretty ordinary anyway so I think nothing ventured nothing gained. If they want you to share publicly then I just move on. I also make a rule to only tag one person per comp. If it is something I really want I might make an exception but I think if you tag a gazillion people per comp it really looks like you are a comper. I also might put a post up publicly just to make it look ok and clean up my wall every so often.

I created a second account but it was too hard to keep up with the tags and gave up - no more facebook comps for me
on my "real" facebook account I am quick to block any friends who tag me in comps - I find it very annoying

I have a few friends who enter competitions so we just always tag each other and I make sure not to tag anyone else so I don't annoy them. I rarely share a comp unless I really really want to win.

and there are lots of groups/pages out there who are quick to jump on people if they find they have more than one account and they voice it very publicly.

I struggle to keep up with the one I have , let alone any 'extras'!

I hate this problem with Facebook and Instagram. If my Husband hadn't got off both social media platforms, I'd just tag him each time :) Back in the days before social media, we had the problem with having to share comps via email and I remember here on lottos we had referral rings where we got a handful of other people's emails and we used each other purely for entering comps so we didn't have to keep annoying our friends with comping emails. I wonder if similar things could be done with social media eg have a few comping friends you can add just for tagging in comps. I honestly have just limited which ones I enter if I have to tag too many people.

I've risked having 2 accounts but I spelt my name slightly differently on the comping account and I don't cross over any friends.
FB can be really petty. They deleted hubby's account because he used a famous person's picture as his profile pic as they have the same name. FB asked him to prove who he was and when he did, they deleted his account. At no time did they say to him, remove 'famous person's' pic or we'll delete, they just deleted.
