I’ve had good experiences with southern cross travel. Good value, and I had to claim which was not a problem. |

We use Defence Health Travel Insurance. We found it to be cheaper and cover things that the others didn't.
We have never made a claim through them though so can't comment on that side, but I know people who have and no problems. |

I always do comparison with finder.com.au which gives you no obligation quotes, cover and takes in many travel insurance companies. Good luck. |

We have used Australia Post in the past and had no issues with claims. There is usually a discount code available.
Now we use the travel insurance that comes free with our credit card, when you activate it they issue a policy.

Covermore are great if you have any pre-existing medical issues … they cover a lot of things, others (like credit cards) don't, at reasonable rates …
enjoy your trip |

Interesting this has just been shared via gofund me, I dont know their grounds for refusal but puts up a red flag for me
Four weeks ago, my elderly parents Robert and Robyn were on their trip of a lifetime. One week into their holiday, Robert fell down a flight of
stairs and fractured his skull and ribs, resulting in a bleed on the brain and severe hearing loss. After 10 days in intensive care and a further two
weeks in hospital "Cover More Travel Insurance" have left them stranded in Austria with a huge Hospital bill and no way to get home.
They have saved their whole lives for a European Holiday, only for it to be cut short by an accident. They paid for the top travel insurance because
of their advanced age. Robert is 78 and Robyn is 77.
The hospital bill is approximately $50,000 and getting bigger the longer he stays there. The money needs to be paid before they can leave the
country. Any money that can be accessed from our homes will take weeks to come through.
My mother, Robyn, has been stuck in a foreign speaking country for 4 weeks with no support and is at breaking point. I will fly over to Austria to
assist them home, but that won't happen until the hospital has been paid.
These funds are needed urgently.
Please help in any way you are able to get Grandpa home. You will make 3 grandchildren, and a few adults, eternally grateful.
Thank you for taking the time to read our story. |

Covermore has always been great when I sold them in a previous life as a travel agent. These cases cant be taken at face value like this - maybe
there was a pre-existing condition that wasn't advised. Seems a bit extreme to me … but that's just me from a background of working with it.
Anyways, I always use Covermore OR Travel Insurance Direct - the latter more of late, just because of the price etc and coverage. Never had a claim
all round … touch wood. |

It seems half the story is missing. It wouldn't have taken much to detail why they are not paying and then people can make a judgment based on the
full facts. If they publish the denial letter we could offer them advice on how to respond.
