I just wonder if any of you Miss certain comps that we used to see?

I looked forwards to the Woolworths spring cleaning comp each year around the late 1990s-2000s

we had to find the entry forms in-store, buy three products from a long long list, write the bar code numbers down and post with a photocopy of the receipt, and it was 3 items per one receipt for the entry. I had huge stocks of cleaning products to last a year but I won heaps of prizes! Washing machines, Dryers, Fridge, microwave, VIP cleaner for a year, mowers and vacuum cleaners! It was fantastic! Haaa the good old days!

Oh! the decore Comp! I purchased 25 bottles of each, shampoo and conditioner, loads of prizes to win and I won a Proton SLX. That was a fantastic little car. And I had lovely shiny hair for a long while!

what about you guys? do you miss certain comps?
I want to win a lap pool! A garden makeover and a new bathroom? You just dont see those any more!

I miss seeing competitions for Laptops. I have won two in the past and have given them to my mother to update hers. She's overdue for another one now but I never see comps for them.

I remember when Safeway now Woolworths had comps when you had to post in your deli barcodes and I won $10,000 dollars from that comp. :)

Oh the good old days when there was no membership card to scan ;)

The Christmas tree barrel one, the easter hunt one from Readers Digest, The Lifestyle win and review ones, there are lots but those are the ones that come to me right now

I liked the Reject Shops 'Make Your Own Christmas Card' competition, that was eventually extended to Halloween and Easter and other important dates throughout the year.

I also miss V energy drink's Big Day Out ticket-per-hour draw, but without a Big Day Out, there is no surprise that one is gone.

I miss the EFTPOS ones where like 50 $100 vouchers were given out a day or something. AMAZING. won a few - very very very handy and everyone uses eftpos so no inconveniencing life.
I liked the Lifestyle ones - won an amazing cookware set once. Still use it!

Kids colouring in comps. There are fewer these days and mostly just put up online.
Vegemite.. win a Macbook pro.
Supermarket purchases to win decent prizes, that you knowingly enter, not automatic entry.
Good comps NOT on FB.

Prize wins 2014: $37680
Prize wins 2011: $13000
previous years about $25000

The harder you work the luckier you get

Where have all the Ipad and laptop competitions gone. Everyone needs one and they need updating every few years yet they are as scarce as hen's teeth. These are not huge "big ticket" items for a national competition prize either.

I never won a laptop but there were always so many comps to enter for them. I also miss the Lifestyle ones, I won 2 holidays and a couple of hampers through them. Most of all I miss the Hot Hits..... daily entry, nice little prize to fill in the gaps (movie tickets, dvd's and merchandise). Also City Beach used to always have multiple member comps running.... I was never without a movie to attend. I haven't even won a movie ticket now in over 12 months.

I rarely see SMS comps, or comps to win Mobile phones.... I won some fabulous trips and cash with SMS comps back in the old days.

I miss good old fashioned comps where you just had to make an effort. Buy the product(s), complete the entry form, copy receipt, write envelope, buy a stamp and find a post box. Now every second comp is social media based or auto entry with the scan of a card. Effort = reward, which the older comps had good, decent, useful prizes that were absolutely worth every effort.

I agree with you Snazzie, made my own coloured envelopes, lots of decoration using products cutout from entry forms, lots of work and then driving around to put envelopes in different mail boxes. It required more perseverance, which, as I tell my grandkids today gets you further than luck.
