How much did you win in 2020?

How much did you win in 2020?

The end of 2020 is almost here, and for many of us we can't wait for it to be over!
It's now time to start adding up our wins for 2020.

Feel free to stay Anonymous and just click on the amount you've won, or you can add a message if you wish.

IMPORTANT - There's still plenty of time left to win this year (especially with so many Advent comps running) so there is no need to do the poll yet.
Hopefully there'll be a big win in the next few weeks for some of us.

Certainly, if you feel that you won't win enough to make it into the next bracket, then by all means click your total. Otherwise, wait until closer to the end of the year, or even the beginning of next year.
Note, once you make a choice, you can't go back later and change it.

If you haven't done so already, don't forget to add your wins to the Lottos Wins thread, so your total can be included in the Lottos Grand Total for the year.
You don't have to specify exactly which comp/s you've won, just general prizes and dollar amounts is fine.
There's a new thread each day and weekend. Here's the link for the current thread (for 29 Dec to 31 Dec):
https://www.lottos.com.au/competitions/viewthreadlite.php?ti...

Good Luck Everyone! :)

Median (where 50% of people won more & 50% have won less) - I just calculated where it would fall if the wins fell evenly across the range. So it's not totally accurate but gives us a figure to work with.

Won less than $1,000
2010 - 10% (1 in 10 members)
2011 - 15% (1 in 7 members)
2013 - 14% (1 in 7 members)
2014 - 16% (1 in 6 members)
2015 - 16% (1 in 6 members)
2016 - 21% (1 in 5 members)
2017 - 23% (1 in 4 members)
2018 - 30% (1 in 3.3 members)
2019 - 24% (1 in 4 members)
2020 - 30% (so far)

Over $50,000 (our big winners)
2010 - 8.3% (1 in 12 members)
2011 - 5.9% (1 in 17 members)
2013 - 5.5% (1 in 18 members)
2014 - 7.7% (1 in 13 members)
2015 - 6.5% (1 in 15 members)
2016 - 2.7% (1 in 37 members)
2017 - 3.8% (1 in 26 members)
2018 - 2.9% (1 in 34 members)
2019 - 7.6% (1 in 13 members)
2020 - 3.0% (so far)

Last year was a great year for wins over $50,000 wit 1 in 13 members winning this amount in prizes.
I have a feeling that 2020 will look a bit more like 2018 for big winners.

Lottos Grand Total winnings:
2010 - $6,075,719
2011 - $5,492,744
2012 - $4,246,730
2013 - $4,091,122
2014 - $3,682,107
2015 - $2,832,805
2016 - $1,783,257
2017 - $2,290,426
2018 - $1,401,626
2019 - $1,351,280
2020 - $1,116,339 (so far)

With 2 weeks to go to the end of the month, we're sitting on $721,545 as a group, when we've always had a Lottos grand total over $1 million.

I'm hanging out too bingo. I've had a terrible year, compared to other years, but I'm short $149 from $5,000 and I'm determined to get there. Still have 2 weeks to go.
Correction, I'm $150 short of $5,001. I need that extra dollar to get into the next category.

Nothing until this afternoon when...... a packet of flea tablets arrived!!
Worst year ever but they say 'things come in three's' so here's hoping. Onwards and upwards Lottos Lovlies!
Thanks buffy13 for the comp.

I have had a slow year as well, worst year so far. I remember the days when you would win 1 out of every 50 comps entered, now its far from those.

I was lucky to have 1 big win worth close to $3000. I am hoping next year will be a better year.

Apart from an egg calendar and 6 pack Canadian Club not much at all:lol:
Maybe some bigger winners can review their wins for us so we know there is hope.
Thanks for doing those stats Smiley as good to see each years numbers.

Ive been lucky to have a few big wins this year so my total was just over $20,000, not my best year but bigger than last year so I am so very grateful.

Wishing us all a bigger and better 2021.

Thanks to everyone who has responded so far.
I thought it was going to be a terrible year for everyone in general, but our 'mean' is sitting on around $5,000, which is just like last year; for now.

This year has been my best so far, just over $15,000. Thankyou to the lottos family and happy winnings for 2021!

I had less than $1000 this year, but I pretty much gave up comping in early May and came back to it in November (so only comped about half the year). I'm on a roll now, 8 wins in two months :D

Edit - I added my vote too soon - I just won 2 Christmas comps, taking my total for the year from $930 to $1250. So 10 wins in two months - I am on a roll and loving it. :)

Quite surprised I have won a bit over $5000. Helped though with a $1000 cash and $1200 of books. Better than the last three years.

Great job everyone. We've had 80 responses so far, and many have posted their wins to be added to the Lottos grand total. I'd love to see us reach $1m this year.

Considering how busy a year it was with uni, I'm happy with $3500 :) That's 3k cash, a couple of books, and a couple of (hectic) Xmas comping prizes

I'm going to wait until 31 December before I click that button, just in case Maccas calls to award me $10K!!

Currently sitting on $10,941.94 for the year. Not bad considering restrictions resulting in limited access to purchase comp shopping. Total includes very recent wins of a $699 Mower and $2000 coffee machine. I have yet to post these in winners circle. Plan to do on Dec 31st incase something else comes up. :) Congratulations to everyone.

I was having a browse through olden days posts.
I noticed that on Christmas Eve in 2010, the year-to-date total was $5,847,051.98!! And this year, I doubt we will hit $1 million.
Are there less comps? Less compers? Or are people not declaring their wins these days?

Less comps. Less comps of value. No holidays. I know my winnings are WAY down yet I am still entering the same number of comps although with thanks to netflix I don't enter for dvd's or movie tickets anymore although with covid they have been more scarce also. I am ever hopeful and waiting until New Years Eve to add just in case something big is awaiting me LOL

I agree, Dabsey.

And the pandemic of 2020 has also affected prize wins from 2019. I was so lucky to win 2 trips late last year, one overseas and one in Australia. I have been unable to take either of them so far, and the overseas trip is probably now a right-off. No-one will be travelling to Europe for leisure for a long time.

Awful year for prizes. Just a $100 gift card and an Entertainment Book membership which I couldn't use at all. Always grateful but the amount of effort and hours put in this year for just $100 is making me wonder if it's worth it anymore. But I'm going to put that thought out of my head and hope for a better 2021.
Thank you for all the effort people put in to posting the competitions, you are fantastic!!

Pretty good year this year considering. Came in at approximately $28,000 thanks to a very lucky November, December.
Much lower winnings than previous years but very grateful and happy to have finished off with this total.

I hope no-one minds if I delete the number of people who've clicked each category for about the first 5 years in the "Previous Year's Results" table, so I can make more room for the 2020 and future stats. I'll keep the percentages and the total at the bottom of the table. And if you really want to see the numbers for each category, you can click on a previous year's thread. I'll start updated the table to include 2020 results as we now have over 100 responses. :)
