Ok, so the first one listed above should not have been tagged Online because you can only enter via Facebook or Instagram
And the second one has actually closed already on 5 Feb!
Thanks for your help

[/rquote] |
Yes, because 'online' means you can enter online and don't have to enter the comp via FB or Instagram.
If you have to enter using FB or Insta, then the online option is incorrect and the comp should be reported so it can be amended.

I hate the part where you have to follow the company but so do the people you tag. |

I was just thinking the same thing, I don’t mind the Instagram but I refuse to tag friends so I don’t enter them |

I have just started entering instagram comps and I am really happy with them. They are the only comps I have been winning lately. I find them easy to
do and little bother. I only tag my friends who I know don't mind being tagged. I actually treat them like I treated facebook comps. I tag the people
that don't mind being tagged (I ask beforehand) I only tag the bare minimum. If the comp expects too much like I have to like a gazillion pages I just
don't enter it. To me a comp opportunity is a comp opportunity and I take every opportunity if the prize is something I like I embrace all different
forms of comping and will give anything a go except cooking and photography LOL. I truly suck at cooking big time and same with photography but I
don't begrudge the ones that post or enter those. Good on em I say!!! |

Managed to avoid all social media completely and very grateful that I don't have to deal with the alarming ever-increasing,
never-ending-merry-go-round of personal time, mind, body and spirit it demands.
Good luck to those who enter social comps.

Here's a hint on how to get around this (not always but most of the time).
I only have a few Instagram friends (about 5 or 6) but they're all compers. If a comp just asks me to tag a friend, I just simply choose one of my few
friends. However, if the promoter says that the person you tagged also has to follow their page, I look through the list of people who already Like
that particular comp post, and tag a friend I find already on the list, because they're naturally already Followers.
This works if the other person only has to be a Follower. However, if you both have to tag each other, then it won't work unless you contact your
friend and ask them to tag you back. |

For those that comp on Instagram it's not hard in finding these comps and most of them are low prize value
Its beginning to look like a $2 shop |
I am sorry that all my posts are making this site look like a $2 shop.
I have the belief that you never know what someone else wants to win - so I post all competitions that I come across. Whether that be a $2 beauty
item or a $20000 cash prize.
I think members don't actually understand how many links for competitions are coming from social media (especially Instagram). Every gleam / referral
comp has come from a find on Instagram. A lot of the purchase comps have also come fro advertising on Instagram pages.
This thread is the 3rd or 4th thread I have read with members whinging about Instagram comps. I also want to point out that most of these members do
not post competitions ... so maybe they are not aware the time and effort that goes into finding these comps.
As I said in the above post - I won't post Instagram comps anymore and as for other competitions - well I have listed all the websites where I find
them in the competition resources forum .... so maybe some of the members who have time to post about how much they dislike all the Instagram comps,
can head over there and put that same amount of effort and energy into contributing to this site!

gogogadget, both you and CompGaga do an amazing job finding competitions. We are truly appreciative of your efforts.
It's just the sign of the times that these days more and more competitions are on Instagram and Facebook. |

For the one or two that don't like them there are the silent hundreds that do. It is just the vocal few that like to be noticed like in any club or
society in general for that matter. Like it or not that is the way comping is heading. Just like the mail in died and it went online then online died
and it went to facebook and now facebook is dying and it is going to instagram, This same vocal MINORITY whines about there not being any comps to
enter and wonder why. |

Please don't stop just because a few people don't like entering them. I love Instagram comps, and I know lots of other people love them too. I really
appreciate all the hard work that you do listing competitions.
Comping since 2009
2020 wins = $1,250
2021 wins = $4,640.37

gogogadget, please keep posting them.
It's very easy for members who don't like social media comps to exclude them.
We saw the same issue when Facebook became prevalent with comps, before that it was 1900 phone type comps. One simply cannot keep everyone happy!

Keep posting gogogadget, afterall this is a comp site.
We just need ways to exclude comps we don't like. Andrew has created lots of different reports for us, and as he explained in an earlier post above,
sometimes we need to use a combination of a couple of reports to cover what we're looking for.
My initial post was more about the current 'explosion' of Instagram comps. There are far more now than we've ever seen before. So many promoters seem
to be choosing Instagram as their preferred method of entry, fortunately sometimes in combination with other methods.
And again as some members have already mentioned, comping keeps changing in popular entry methods from mail-in, collecting barcodes to phone to
Facebook and Twitter and now Instagram, and also increasing in comps is the App entry. You can tell I'm one of the old timers because I still haven't
worked out how to order a coffee via the MyMaccas app! |

Thanks Smiley, Andrew and all the others who are in support of the Instagram comps
Valentine's Day was crazy for comps on Instagram and as a poster it just happened that I joined Instagram a few weeks before Valentine's Day! I have
never seen so many competitions in my life ... and at the end of the day there were so many more out there then what even got posted.
I am somewhat nervous about Easter and Mother's Day Instagram comps ... as I think they will be even more crazy then the Valentine's Day ones!
Andrew has done a great job with the report features. I have entered Radio comps, Purchase comps and online comps that request my Instagram name ....
so Instagram is slowly creeping in everywhere.
We all enter competitions for different reasons .... so I try to post whatever I come across ... and at the end of the day seeing someone from Lotto's
win a competition that I post ... makes me just as happy as if I had of won myself!

I really appreciate all the time and effort people put into posting the comps that make it so easy for the rest of us to enter.
I refused to enter Insta comps for a long time but have just started about a month ago and now I love them. I have a few people that don’t mind being
tagged so I find them easy to enter. I am yet to win anything though so we’ll see how much I like them in 6 months time
Please don’t stop posting gogogadget - there will be lots of people who are grateful |

Argh! I keep forgetting that you have to check you messages in Instagram to see if you won. I have tow wins form 2020. I should give up.
Prize wins 2014: $37680
Prize wins 2011: $13000
previous years about $25000
The harder you work the luckier you get

Instagram Competiton Overload
Am I right in saying there seem to be more Instagram competitions than any other kind? I never used to enter Insta competitions but I'm finding I now
have to otherwise I would enter next to nothing? I am yet to even win one!!
How is everyone else's luck? I find some of them require lots of tagging and have thousands of entries..... are they picking friends though? |

Totally agree, i feel the same way thats why i only recently joined up to Instagram so i could give it try. No luck so far since i joined about 2
weeks ago. I sometime's wonder whether they only give the prizes to people that have lots and lots of followers, which if that is the case its never
going to me..... |

Yes, I think this could be the case, as they want somebody who will review or advertise their products... |
